Chapter 936: Chapter 936

Lan Xingyue had anticipated countless possibilities, but when she saw Lin Chen's "wish," she was so furious she nearly lost her mind.

On the paper was a little pig with wide eyes drawn on it, accompanied by three characters: "Pig Look!"

"This bastard!" Lan Xingyue was so enraged she almost tore the paper up but managed to suppress her anger and put it into the envelope.

After everyone had eaten and rested, the team regrouped.

To everyone's surprise, they didn't immediately head into the rainforest but were instead driven back to the airport.

Seeing the waiting plane, everyone froze in confusion: "Captain, isn't the secret area here?"

Lan Xingyue smiled faintly: "Did I ever say the secret area is here?"

Lin Chen silently admired Lan Xingyue's cunning. Normally, the gathering point for missions would logically be somewhere close to the target, but they had turned the conventional wisdom on its head.

On the plane, Lin Chen curiously asked, "Captain, did you anticipate the enemy would here?"

Lan Xingyue shook her head: "According to intelligence, our squad has already been targeted. This is just counter-surveillance strategy."

On the snow-covered mountain, Hahn held a telescope, watching the plane take off, a sneer forming at the corner of his lips.

"These Chinese are quite cunning, daring to pull off a trick to deceive us."

"Sir, what should we do now?"

Hahn scoffed lightly: "Relax. They can't escape the palm of my hand. Order the men to retreat."

The flight this time felt unusually long; the plane even stopped mid-air for refueling once.

Lin Chen was beginning to doze off when Lan Xingyue's sudden voice echoed in the cabin: "Wake up, everyone! Prepare for a parachute jump!"

"What? Parachute jump?!" Lin Chen stared dumbfounded.

Though they'd previously attended a lesson about parachuting and even conducted simulated operations with parachutes, it was always on solid ground.

"Captain, isn't this a bit reckless? We've never practiced this, and now you want us to jump directly?" Lin Chen grumbled.

"What's the matter? Scared? If you're scared, you can stay behind." Lan Xingyue's tone was cold.

"Tch, scared? Who's scared? I'm just concerned for the girls," Lin Chen said, glancing at the visibly uneasy Wang Zixuan.

Lan Xingyue clapped her hands, addressing the group: "I know many of you are doing this for the first time, and the rainforest setting adds to the difficulty. However, as long as you follow the practiced techniques, there won't be any problems. Alright, the plane will reach the designated spot in five minutes—time to gear up!"

The girls remained unfazed. An Xiaodi had practiced parachuting on Evil Spirit Island, and the others had a few jumps under their belts. Only Wang Zixuan seemed nervous.

Lin Chen approached Wang Zixuan, noticing her trembling. He teased, "Relax! Parachuting is fun!"

"You've done it before?" Wang Zixuan shot a skeptical look at Lin Chen.

Lin Chen shook his head. "Nope. That's why it's exciting!"

Wang Zixuan blushed. She hesitated and admitted quietly, "I-I'm afraid of heights…"

"Afraid of heights?" Lin Chen frowned slightly and took hold of her hand.

"Don't worry. Just close your eyes—we'll jump together," he said with a chuckle.

The plane quickly arrived at the jump site. Zhao Xiaohua was the first out, her movements so graceful it was akin to a mermaid diving into the ocean, leaping effortlessly from the cabin.

Next came An Xiaodi, followed by Mu Yuqiu, Yue'er, Lan Xingyue, and finally Wang Zixuan.

Wang Zixuan stood at the cabin door, staring at the dense green below. Her entire body seemed to tremble uncontrollably.

Lin Chen gently held her hand, saying, "We'll jump together."

"Ah!" With a sharp scream from Wang Zixuan, Lin Chen gave her hand a firm pull, and they leaped out of the cabin together.

Soaring through the sky, the sensation was exhilarating beyond anything imaginable.

The wind roared past their ears, and their bodies plunged freely; the experience was indescribably magical.

Assessing his altitude, Lin Chen gestured to Wang Zixuan to pull her parachute cord.

But Wang Zixuan, too terrified, had her eyes shut tight and wouldn't—or couldn't—respond.

Frowning, Lin Chen positioned himself behind her and forcefully pulled her cord.

Though the parachute deployed, the momentum separated the two of them.

Lin Chen attempted several times to get closer to Wang Zixuan, but the strong wind thwarted his efforts each time.

Helplessly, Lin Chen had to abandon the idea.

As long as Wang Zixuan's parachute was deployed, her life wouldn't be in danger. The only uncertainty was her landing location.

Lin Chen studied the rainforest below—its lush greenery stretching endlessly. In the distance stood snow-capped peaks, creating a surreal fusion of worlds.

Soon, Lin Chen's parachute landed on a patch of grass. The others landed safely as well—except for Wang Zixuan, who had drifted away from the designated spot.

Zhao Xiaohua pointed southwest and said, "I saw Wang Zixuan heading in that direction."

Lan Xingyue frowned. "Let's move. We need to find Wang Zixuan immediately."

After packing up their parachutes, the team entered the rainforest.

Once inside, they realized how challenging it was to traverse the rainforest terrain.

Their path was blocked by an endless tangle of dense trees and vines—there was no trail at all.

Yue'er wielded a sharp machete, tirelessly clearing a path in front.

"Yue'er, let me do it!" Lin Chen offered with a grin.

After all, he was the only man here—and it felt wrong to let Yue'er handle the hard labor.

"No way. I grew up in the rainforest and know this terrain inside out. If you lead, you might lead us astray," Yue'er replied matter-of-factly.

"Let Yue'er handle it," Lan Xingyue chimed in. "She's the expert here."

The team formed a single-file line, with Lin Chen taking up the rear.

Finally, Lin Chen understood the advantage of the tactical combat uniform they were wearing.

If they were dressed in regular clothing, their outfits would've been shredded by now in the dense jungle.

Suddenly, a snake darted from the trees, heading directly toward An Xiaodi's neck.

Lin Chen's eyes narrowed, ready to act—but before he could, a dagger shot out from Zhao Xiaohua's hand.

The snake lunging at An Xiaodi was pinned to the tree in an instant.

It had a triangular head and a vibrantly patterned body—classic traits of the legendary king cobra.

"Oh my God! That's a king cobra! If it bites you, even a god wouldn't save you!" Staring at the pinned cobra, everyone felt a chill run through them.

Lin Chen couldn't help but think of Wang Zixuan—in a jungle teeming with venomous creatures, how could she, a pampered princess, manage?

The group quickened their pace, heading in the direction of Wang Zixuan's landing.

"Xiaoshuai, how far are we from Wang Zixuan?" Lin Chen asked.

"Master, she's very close—about 400 meters away," Xiaoshuai replied.

Lin Chen exhaled in relief—only to hear a sudden panicked cry from the forest: "Help! Help!"
