Chapter 933: Chapter 933
"Is someone spying on us?" Lan Xingyue's gaze sharpened.
"What did you discover?" Lan Xingyue asked curiously.
Lin Chen shook his head. "Just a hunch."
"This place should be completely safe. What you're saying is impossible." Lan Xingyue confidently patted Lin Chen's shoulder.
After Lan Xingyue left, Lin Chen's gaze returned to the distant mountain peak. He seemed to have caught a glimmer of light from there.
On a snow-covered mountain, a young man dressed in a fur coat held up binoculars and stared for a while.
"These guys have been through special training for a week now. When are they going to make their move?"
"Lord Haan, why don't we conduct a closer reconnaissance? The conditions on this snowy mountain are too harsh; so many brothers have been frostbitten." A blond, overweight man asked doubtfully.
"Idiot! Do you really think the members of the War Dragon squad are amateurs? Approaching them would get us exposed instantly with their abilities." Haan scoffed coldly.
"Lord, your foresight is indeed remarkable," the fat man, Ge Lei, nodded submissively.
"Hmph. These Chinese teams would never dream that theirs isn't the only squad entering the secret realm. No matter what, we must remain undiscovered." Haan added with another cold snort.
"Understood. I'll remind the brothers to be very cautious." Ge Lei said seriously.
"By the way, Lord, the President has ordered this time to ensure Lin Chen's demise. It seems that boy killed his son, Eugene." Ge Lei continued.
Haan inhaled a puff of smoke, staring at the distant base. "That fool should've died long ago. Killing Lin Chen and acquiring the items inside the secret realm will boost my prestige. Now that Eugene is dead, the President's position is as good as mine."
"Don't worry, Lord. To us, these Chinese are nothing but trash. We'll crush them completely," Ge Lei sneered.
In the War Dragon base's office, Lan Xingyue stood respectfully before an elderly man.
The old man was over seventy and should've retired from the military long ago, yet he still wore a perfectly pressed uniform.
"Xingyue, how is the team's training going?" The old man asked.
"The training is going very smoothly. They've all made significant progress," Lan Xingyue replied.
"Good. Now it's time to test the final results. Take action in three days." The old man said calmly.
"So soon?" Lan Xingyue asked, worried.
"We're running out of time; we must act quickly," the old man said, his voice heavy.
"Should we inform them about this mission?" Lan Xingyue asked.
"For now, don't tell them. We must be extremely cautious about this mission; there can't be any mistakes," the old man's eyes revealed a trace of seriousness.
"Understood. Roger that," Lan Xingyue replied with a salute.
As Lan Xingyue reached the door, the old man suddenly called out sternly, "Xingyue, wait a moment."
"Is there something else?" Lan Xingyue paused.
"Xingyue, be extra careful with this mission. Remember not to push yourself too far. I've already lost a son and a granddaughter; I can't bear to lose you too," the old man sighed.
"Grandfather, our Lan family has pledged every ounce of loyalty to China. My father, my sister—all heroes. I won't disgrace you. If I don't complete this mission, I won't return," Lan Xingyue said before walking briskly out of the room.
The old man watched Lan Xingyue's departing figure and sighed deeply, "This child, indeed!"
Within an ancient forest, Lin Chen sat with his eyes gently closed as a faint stream of Spiritual Energy flowed into his body.
Here in the primordial woods, Spiritual Energy was far richer than in the city, and Lin Chen wouldn't miss the opportunity.
Strands of Spiritual Energy flowed like ethereal sprites, swirling around Lin Chen. Anyone witnessing the scene would be utterly astonished.
Surrounding Lin Chen were four distinct colors of Spiritual Energy: red fire energy, blue water energy, yellow metal energy, and green wood energy.
These energies flowed into Lin Chen's body, transforming into streams of Qi that entered his system.
As the Spiritual Energy surged in, Lin Chen's bottleneck began to loosen.
Boom! A burst of powerful Spiritual Energy exploded outward, sending a wave of exhilaration through his body.
At that moment, Lin Chen realized his sensory abilities had drastically heightened—every breath within several kilometers surged into his consciousness.
Suddenly, his gaze hardened. Lin Chen detected someone in the nearby woods aiming a sniper rifle at him.
Previously, he wouldn't have been able to sense such a distant threat. Now, he could clearly perceive even the individual's breathing.
A faint, cold smile played on Lin Chen's lips as he abruptly stood up.
Just as the sniper was about to pull the trigger, he realized Lin Chen had vanished from his sight.
"Damn it! Where did that bastard go?" The sniper's face twisted as his target disappeared.
He shifted his rifle frantically, searching for Lin Chen's location.
Yet Lin Chen had seemingly vanished without a trace.
The sniper's eyelid twitched as he quickly packed up his rifle, intending to retreat.
As a professional sniper, his instincts screamed that he'd likely been exposed; staying would be incredibly dangerous.
But as he stood up, his eyes suddenly narrowed, whipping his gun to aim behind him.
As the gun fired, the sniper staggered backward.
Yet, mere meters away, a figure stood watching him mockingly. "Do you really think you can still escape?"
The speaker was Lin Chen, who had silently crept behind the sniper. Unexpectedly, this guy's senses were sharp enough to turn and shoot so swiftly.
Although Lin Chen had been forced to retreat, a sniper at close quarters was as good as doomed.
Eyes cold, the sniper clenched a dagger that appeared in his hand. "You killed my master. Today, I'll make you pay with your blood."
"Your master? Who might that be?" Lin Chen asked curiously.
"Eugene!" The young man's face twisted with fury.
This young man was Kraysa, Eugene's childhood companion and loyal bodyguard.
Last time, due to a separate mission, Kraysa hadn't accompanied Eugene to China, only to later hear news of Eugene's death at Lin Chen's hands.
This time, after arriving in China, Kraysa volunteered to handle the task, determined to avenge Eugene. Yet Haan had dragged the team to a snowy mountain thousands of meters away, hesitating to act.
Unable to hold back, Kraysa infiltrated the base alone, coincidentally encountering Lin Chen during his cultivation.
Lin Chen sized up the young man. "Eugene... So, you're part of Ghost Society as well."
"Brat! Killing the young master seals your fate!" As the words fell, Kraysa moved swiftly, his body flickering like a shadow before closing in on Lin Chen.
"A sniper with these skills?" Lin Chen's eyes narrowed in surprise.
