Chapter 593: Chapter 593

In the courtyard of the Manchester Police Station, Lin Chen and Qima hid in the bushes.

Qima whispered, "Lin Chen, are you sure that Na Ka is the mole?"

Lin Chen nodded, "Most likely, about ninety percent. First, Na Ka didn't seem surprised by Yasin's death after he entered the room, which means he already knew the outcome. Second, when I said he was a mole, his eyes clearly showed panic."

"This guy, no wonder he was so cooperative with my work this time, he had already been bought off by someone else," Qima muttered under her breath.

Lin Chen said gravely, "If he is the mole, the other side will definitely try to silence him tonight. We just need to wait and catch them in the act."

Time passed by, and in the blink of an eye, it was already past two o'clock in the morning.

"There's been no movement so late, could we have wrongly accused Na Ka?" Qima began to doubt.

"Let's wait a little longer," Lin Chen said, his gaze fixed on the light in the fourth-floor solitary cell.

Just then, suddenly all the lights in the building went out.

"Something's up," Lin Chen said in a low voice.

As they were preparing to rush out of the bushes, they suddenly heard a 'bang', and a shadow fell from the sky.

"Damn it, the enemy is inside the building," Lin Chen's expression turned ugly.

Climbing up the drainpipe, Lin Chen quickly made his way to the fourth floor.

Lin Chen slipped into the room, which was empty, with the solitary cell door firmly shut.

By this time, many police officers had already run out, and Na Ka on the ground was long dead.

An hour later, Qima walked in with a troubled expression.

"According to our investigation, Na Ka committed suicide, jumped from the building," Qima sighed.

"No, it was definitely homicide, and it was done by someone inside," Lin Chen said confidently.

"But we reviewed the security footage, except for the few minutes the power was out, no one entered the corridor where Na Ka was held," Qima sighed.

Lin Chen glanced at the corridor, then went to the window opposite the solitary cell.

The person had climbed up from outside the building, waited for the power cut, then charged into the solitary cell and pushed Na Ka out.

Lin Chen pointed at the window, saying this with certainty.

"What, climb from the outside of the building? How is that possible? There's simply nowhere to stand out there," Qima protested.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, "For a high-level special forces soldier, it would be a piece of cake to enter this place from a room in the police station."

"Give me all the on-duty officers' information from that night," Lin Chen demanded.

"Sure, I'll get on it right away," Qima nodded in response.

"And remember, this must be kept confidential. To the outside, just say that Na Ka committed suicide by jumping from the building," Lin Chen suddenly added.

"Understood, I'll arrange it now," Qima nodded again.

In Qima's office, Lin Chen carefully reviewed the police officers' files, suddenly drawn to one name.

This man's name was Lu Dong, of Chinese heritage, and his file showed that he used to be a special forces soldier in China.

After combing through the entire list, in the end, Lin Chen focused on Lu Dong.

Lin Chen picked up the phone and made a call to Dragon from Huaxia.

"Dragon, help me check on a special forces soldier from Huaxia's Black Hawk strike team named Lu Dong," Lin Chen said gravely.

"Black Hawk strike team? No problem, I happen to have an old comrade-in-arms who is the commander of their military region," Dragon said with a smile.

Soon, Dragon called back and said, "This Lu Dong is a Class 02 special forces soldier. This young man is outstanding in his duties and has a flexible mind. He was promoted to platoon leader less than two years after enlisting. However, according to his company commander who has led him, this kid is very audacious and not quite honest, so despite his excellent service, the military leaders have always been hesitant to rely on him."

Hearing Dragon's words, Lin Chen was almost completely certain that the person who had infiltrated the solitary confinement room was this Lu Dong.

Firstly, Lu Dong came from the Black Hawk team, so climbing walls was a piece of cake for him. Secondly, this Lu Dong was a gambler who had recently run up a huge debt. All these characteristics pointed to one thing—Lu Dong was problematic.

After hearing Lin Chen's introduction, Qima couldn't help but be overjoyed, "I'll send someone to catch him right away."

Lin Chen nodded, "Don't call too many people, just a few skilled ones to coordinate with me will do."

Lu Dong lived in an old, dilapidated building. Several people, all in plainclothes, approached the building along the wall to avoid detection by Lu Dong.

"You four, stay at the entrance of the corridor. If he runs out from inside, shoot to wound him, but try to keep him alive," Lin Chen whispered.

"Hmm," the four officers nodded and each found a good ambush point.

Hugging the base of the wall, Lin Chen reached the bottom of the building. Instead of using the staircase, he quickly climbed up towards the upper levels using the windows.

Seeing Lin Chen's movements, the four officers were almost dumbfounded. His speed was too fast; in just a few leaps, he had already reached Lu Dong's fourth-floor window.

The four officers were so shocked they could hardly speak, thinking to themselves how fortunate it was that Lin Chen wasn't a thief; otherwise, breaking and entering would be far too easy for him.

A few years ago in Country T, there was a super thief who could climb walls and do just about anything. Even he would probably feel inferior after seeing Lin Chen's skills.

The reason Lin Chen didn't take the stairs was that Lu Dong was a former special police officer with strong counter-surveillance abilities. There would definitely be alarm systems, maybe even cameras, in the corridor, so Lin Chen chose to enter unexpectedly through the window.

Lin Chen reached the window and used some wire to fiddle with it a few times before he opened it.

Jumping into the room, Lin Chen's heart sank—the place was empty, obviously, the person had already left.

"Am I too late?" Lin Chen's gaze fell on the ashtray, his hand touching the still-warm ashes within.

Lu Dong had been careless this time. If it were the police from Country T, they wouldn't have inspected the room so thoroughly after entering and seeing no one; they would have given up the chase. But he never expected that he would encounter Lin Chen.

Lin Chen looked outside, where there was a railway, and a train had just left the area.

If Lu Dong had slipped out the window and crossed the neighborhood, he would have reached the railway line. According to the timing, Lu Dong should be on the train that had just passed.

To anyone else, it wouldn't occur to them that Lu Dong would use a passing train to escape because climbing aboard a high-speed train is virtually impossible for the average person.

Even if the Country T police force pursued him, they wouldn't think of him escaping by train, but unfortunately for Lu Dong, he was up against Lin Chen, who knew him well.

Pursue! Now that he knew Lu Dong was on the train, it was manageable.

Lin Chen, with a whoosh, vaulted and jumped down from the fourth floor effortlessly, as if it was flat ground.

"Geez, is this guy even human?"

While the four officers were still agape in shock, Lin Chen had already joined two of them.

"He's already gone; you can go back," Lin Chen told the two.

"What about you?" one of the officers asked, puzzled.

"I'm going after him," Lin Chen said solemnly.
