Feeling embarrassed by Wei Ling's probing, Lin Chen's face reddened. He certainly couldn't admit that he had gone to a hotel with a young female police officer last night.

Seeing Lin Chen's awkward expression, Wei Ling chuckled, "Alright, I was just teasing you. Looks like you had fun last night. Lin Chen felt a warmth in his heart after hearing Wei Ling's words, but naturally, he wasn't worried—Qima was a good girl and most importantly, the plum blossoms on the sheets told him she was a virgin.

"I got it, Ling sister, don't worry," Lin Chen said with a smile in response.

They entered the room, and Xu Jiayi, looking exhausted, was dozing off on the sofa.

Upon Lin Chen's arrival, she opened her eyes.

"Jiayi, you didn't stay up all night again, did you?" Wei Ling asked with concern, seeing Xu Jiayi's weary face.

Xu Jiayi nodded, "There was a mission last night, and I was busy the whole night. Lin Chen, get ready in a bit; we're going to see the General."

"See the General!" Lin Chen was momentarily taken aback.

"Why does he want to see me?" Lin Chen asked curiously.

Xu Jiayi calmly said, "Did you fight with the Ice King again last night? You've stepped up twice when the Ice King appeared and also saved the General's daughter twice, so the General has made an exception to summon you."

"What? That girl is the General's daughter?" Lin Chen almost collapsed to the floor after hearing Xu Jiayi's words.

"Shoot, I accidentally got with the General's daughter last night, and now her father has come looking for me. Could it be he expects me to take responsibility for her?" Lin Chen was filled with trepidation.

Lin Chen followed Xu Jiayi into the military headquarters building and arrived at an office. Xu Jiayi knocked on the door with apprehension.

"Come in!" A resounding voice came from inside.

Xu Jiayi led Lin Chen into the office.

Within the spacious office sat a middle-aged man with a square face and an extraordinary aura. He exuded the presence of a strong figure, providing an intimidating sense, as if his authority was present without the need for anger.

Upon seeing Lin Chen, the middle-aged man put down the document in his hand and, with a beaming smile, stood up and quickly walked towards Lin Chen.

The General, smiling, approached Lin Chen and extended his hand proactively, "You must be Mr. Lin Chen. You've saved my daughter's life twice, I really don't know how to thank you."

Lin Chen never dreamed that the General would be so approachable, completely different from those in the official circles.

After some more small talk with General Luo De, the two left the office.

Xu Jiayi said, "Let's head home first. You don't need to be in the office every day in our team; someone will contact you when there's a mission."

"That suits me well; I job," Lin Chen responded with a smile.

Just as they arrived at the doorstep, they saw Wei Ling hurriedly running out of the house.
