When Li Yifei finished showering, he called Xu Yingying, but she hung up on him.

Li Yifei knew that there might be something important going on over there making it inconvenient for her to answer the phone; otherwise, Xu Yingying would never not pick up his call, especially since he had been away for a month and just returned home without even seeing her.

He thought she would call back once she had some free time. Li Yifei had already knocked on Xu Shanshan’s door, who was wearing a breezy nightdress, her long and straight legs closed together, drawing attention to a mysterious area in between. Li Yifei glanced quickly and reluctantly moved his gaze away, fearing he might have a nosebleed if he kept looking.

Xu Shanshan threw a flirtatious look and made way for Li Yifei to enter.

Li Yifei swapped his shoes for slippers and asked, "Did you sleep in the afternoon?"

"Slept for a bit, but wasn’t too tired, so I didn’t sleep much." Xu Shanshan looked at Li Yifei oddly and asked, "Aren’t you going to accompany your wives? Why are you here with me? We’ve been waiting for almost a month now."

"Haven’t you received a call from Dad?" Li Yifei asked, sitting down.

Xu Shanshan got two cans of drink from the fridge and handed one to Li Yifei, shaking her head at his words. "Nope. Why? Does he know we’re back? I haven’t had the chance to tell them yet!"

This is strange. Could it be Xu Yingying who mentioned it?

Xu Shanshan followed up, "What’s going on?"

"Dad called me earlier, saying we should go home for dinner. Mom’s made lots of delicious things." Li Yifei said.

"Strange. Was it my sister who told him? I called her earlier, and she didn’t answer." Xu Shanshan plopped down next to Li Yifei, leaning her body against him and said, "Going home for dinner out of the blue, bringing me along too, guessing they want to pressure you two into having a baby."

Li Yifei laughed and said, "Or maybe they’re pressuring you to find a partner."

Xu Shanshan immediately turned her head, raised her chin, and looked challengingly at Li Yifei, saying, "Pressuring me to find a boyfriend? If I really go looking, wouldn’t you cry, brother-in-law?"

Li Yifei knew this when he got home. Answering the call, Li Yifei asked, "Mengxin, how’s Grandpa?"

"Much better, physically fine, just still a bit down mentally." Su Mengxin replied. Li Yifei knew she was talking about that old comrade; considering the time, the person probably passed away a month ago. When he’s ready to retire, he can come over. If he likes our home, he can live here. If he doesn’t like it, we can find a piece of land nearby and build whatever he wants. After asking about the situation at home, Su Mengxin learned that Li Yifei was planning to take Xu Shanshan home for dinner. They changed their clothes and went downstairs together, where they ran into Chu Xiaoyao.

Chu Xiaoyao, understanding where they were headed, got interested and wanted to join. Xu Shanshan thought bringing her could be helpful, as another voice of reason, but Chu Xiaoyao quickly shook her head and said, "No, food is important, but safety too. I have a feeling tonight’s heading towards a marriage pressure scenario, so excuse me from this. When the wind is tight, I’m out!"

Chu Xiaoyao said messily before turning away and running off.

Xu Shanshan blinked and looked back at Li Yifei, saying, "What kind of nonsense is she talking about?"

Li Yifei shrugged and said, "I’m thinking your parents probably know Yingying is out of town and still called us back for dinner, so today’s matter is mostly about you! Rather than pressing us about kids."

Seeing her pitiful look, Li Yifei quickly embraced Xu Shanshan and said, "Alright, how could I not want you? If worse comes to worst, let’s lay it all out tonight."
