Chapter 368: Chapter 368
Chapter 368 You Forgot Your Money Again
Hugo walked in and was accompanied by a man in his thirties. The man wore a black-rimmed glasses and had a gentle look on his face.
Immediately, Hugo saw Leon.
How could he ran into another boss and not even say hello?
So Hugo decided to take the man next to him and they walked towards where Leon was seated.
When they arrived at Leon's seat, Hugo recognized one of the two girls. He remembered that her name was Tina and she was from the company's finance department.
He was not surprised. After all, he knew the inside story. Without Leon's referral, how could Tina be qualified to enter the group finance department with her qualifications alone?
When Tina saw Hugo coming towards her and was now standing in front of her, she fell into a trance.
She didn't expect that Hugo, the Chairman of the Flying Group, would come to this kind of fly restaurant for dinner.
"Hello, Mr. Hugo." Tina regained her senses. She stood up quickly, and politely greeted Hugo.
Hugo just nodded and turned on Leon. "Leon."
Leon was beaten aback by the informal call of his name. He cough suggestively.
Hugo reacted abruptly. "Mr. Williams, it's good to see you that you are well." Originally, he wanted to call Leon as 'President Williams' just like what he was used to, but he got a signal that he shouldn't.
"Yes, I'm very well." Leon nodded, but he did not stand up like Tina.
The man with black-rimmed glasses smiled and nodded to Leon.
It seemed like the three men knew each other.
Tina became suspicious at this exchange. "Are Leon and Mr. Hugo friends?" As soon as the idea flashed through her mind, she denied it right away.
After all, how could this loser of a boyfriend of her sister become friends with the Chairman of the Flying Group?
"Hugo seemed well too." Leon said to Hugo.
Wait, what?
Hugo?!
Tina was surprised again!
Leon just called Hugo as if he were more than an acquaintance.
"Mr. Hugo, do you know Leon Williams?" Tina finally couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, Mr. Williams and I know each other. Sometimes, when I get drunk while talking about some projects, I ask Mr. Williams to drive me home. We knew each other for a long time now." Hugo promptly made up an excuse. He had to lie to take care of the prince.
"Oh, so it's like that. I should have known better. How could Leon and Hugo be friends? They are people from different worlds." Tina thought to herself and finally understood.
Then Tina noticed Leon. "Why are you still sitting when talking to Mr. Hugo? You're being disrespectful!"
When Leon heard this, he couldn't help but laugh. "I'm not an employee of your Mr. Hugo. Why do I have to stand up and talk to him? Of course, you should pay respect to Hugo, but why should I?" Leon asked in a cold voice.
"Can you not call him with just 'Hugo'?" Tina felt that her sister's boyfriend was simply too ignorant, impolite, and ill-bred.
He had a great opportunity to communicate with Mr. Hugo, but Leon was ignorant of this. If he could make a good impression on Mr. Hugo and curry some favor, maybe he could get a job that was more decent than being a driver.
Tina turned to Hugo. "Mr. Hugo, don't be angry. Leon doesn't think before he talks. Don't blame him. In fact, he's a good person." Tina said this because he wanted Leon to appeal with Hugo and get a good job.
She wasn't doing this for Leon, but for her sister. She didn't want her sister to marry a useless man. Even if she couldn't get her sister to change her boyfriend, she could at least make her sister's life less miserable.
However, to Tina's surprise, there was no anger nor a trace of displeasure on Hugo's face.
"Actually, Mr. Williams is right. He really doesn't have to stand up to greet me. He doesn't have to be too formal outside work."
How could Hugo find fault with Leon? On the other hand, it would be nice if Leon doesn't find fault on him. After all, he was the nominal chairman of the board and the man who worked for Leon the most.
The public work of the Flying Group was done by Hugo, but it was still Leon who was in charge of everything.
"Mr. Hugo is too kind. This is really the supposed demeanour of people who achieved great things."
But Tina was curious about as to why Mr. Hugo, who was usually stricter in the company, seemed to be a different person now.
"Hugo, why don't we put our table together? Eat with us." Leon said that but there was a trace of impatience in his eyes. He wanted Hugo to leave quickly and not disturb his time with Rachel.
Hugo naturally became aware of the displeasure in Leon's eyes, he quickly waved his hand. "No, I'll take Ogden to another table." After saying this, Hugo winked at the man with black-rimmed glasses next to him. "That should be fine, right? Ogden?"
The man with black-rimmed glasses named Ogden nodded. "Yes, that's fine with me."
Tina suddenly frowned and showed a surprised expression on her face. She suddenly felt that the voice of this man named Ogden sounded very similar to that "friend" of hers. She had a voice call with that person because she wanted to know which senior figure of the Flying Group he was. She shouldn't be mistaken.
But in front of Leon and her sister, she was too embarrassed to ask.
Additionally, she felt that it was inappropriate to ask in front of Mr. Hugo. After all, she relied on that person's relationship with her before to enter the Flying Group.
Soon, Hugo had walked away with Ogden. Tina looked at Ogden's back in daze.
Because she was distracted and impetuous, she didn't pay attention to Ogden's appearance. But looking at him now, she thought he looked okay.
"Is he really that man? He must be kind and easy to get along with." Tina thought silently in her heart.
Leon also noticed the Tina's anomaly.
Suddenly, Tina recovered from her trance and glanced at Leon. "You really have the courage to ask Mr. Hugo to come over and share the table with us, huh? You really think so highly of yourself. I was embarrassed because of you. The only explanation why Mr. Hugo didn't laugh at your face was because he have manners."
"You don't know anything at all, so just keep your mouth shut." Leon really wanted to pick up a piece of barbecue and paste it on Tina's mouth.
"It's you who don't understand! You are so immature, you have to know that you and Mr. Hugo are not of the same class. You want to share the table with him? You should have known your place!"
Tina was trying to teach Leon how to deal with interpersonal relationships. She felt that what she was doing was for his own good. She hoped that through her persuasions, Leon would stop being so arrogant.
"Don't argue with me. Who said it earlier that her boss would not come to this kind of small restaurant to eat? I'm telling you, don't take some things for granted. Don't assume that your perceptions are right just because you think you're unreachable." Leon stated. He really didn't want to talk to Tina any more.
Tina couldn't argue with that. The barbecue on the table caught her sight and she stared at it with doubt in her eyes.
Was this simple home-cooked dish really that delicious for a business giant like Mr. Hugo to come here and eat?
Tina tried to pick up a piece and put it into her mouth.
Then, Tina froze.
Delicious!
The most delicious taste in the world!
This barbecue was mellow, tender, smooth and delicious!
It was the best in the world!
Tina could not help but sigh. "Mr. Hugo really has a good taste. This barbecue is so delicious. In fact, this is the purpose of meat in our lives. It can be enjoyed both in an elegant and gauche manner. It can go to either a five-star hotel in a western restaurant or a small shop on the street side of a fly restaurant!"
Leon shook his head. "That's not what you said before. If you didn't see Hugo, you won't even take a bite of the barbecue here. But now you think it's delicious because your boss likes it, too. Your boss has a high status, so you think he makes sense no matter what he does."
Tina rolled her eyes at Leon but didn't rebut, which showed that she agreed with Leon.
She does have the mentality of blind obedience. After all, she came crawling from the bottom and she wanted to integrate into upper-middle life as soon as possible. She did not want to go back to the past.
This kind of urgent mentality was ought to lead to blind obedience.
Half an hour later, all the dishes were eaten.
It was worth mentioning that Tina ate more than the amount of Leon and Rachel had eaten combined.
The three went to check out.
However, when it was time to pay, Leon realized that he had left his wallet and cell phone at home.
"I forgot my wallet and cell phone."
When Leon found that he had forgotten it, he didn't panic because he had a solution.
However, Tina was like a firecracker.
"You forgot your wallet?! This excuse of forgetting money is really getting old! Why do you even had the gall to treat people for a meal when you don't have money to pay for it?!"
