Chapter 333: Chapter 333
Chapter 333 Pay The Price
Sucyanti Wibowo thought that Leon Williams would accept it but his reaction was beyond her expectation.
"Half of the wealth of Rossetti family was incomparable even if we sum up your wealth, Leon. There are several real estate properties alone in their offer. As long as you accept an indemnity, you will become a multimillionaire. Are you really not tempted?"
"I don't need their money," Leon Williams answered.
When it comes to real estate, Rainbow Villa and Pleasant Century were not enough to even pay for the house of the Rossetti family.
On the other hand, Sucyanti Wibowo failed to understand the meaning behind Leon Williams's words.
"Leon, although you are a bit pretentious to say this, I support you. I know you must be short on money and this money is definitely a big opportunity for you. I admire your determination. You are a real business person and I like your energy!"
A stream of excitement welled up in Sucyanti Wibowo's chest.
She was infected by Leon Williams's determined behavior. Sucyanti Wibowo eyes were tearful and her voice became groggier.
Leon Williams, who was on the other end of the line, heard Sucyanti Wibowo's faint cries coming from the phone and she sounded helpless.
Why was she crying now?
"Sucyanti, you've been acting so abnormal lately. I'm not used that you don't criticize me."
Sucyanti Wibowo used to hurt Leon Williams several times a day but now she sounded as if she was admiring him.
"No, all is well Leon. And why should I criticize you? I didn't understand you before but now you are so manly," Sucyanti Wibowo said shyly.
"I just turned down half of Rossetti family's property. What's the big deal? Please tell me that Magee Rossetti's illness can be treated so that my requirements can be met," Leon Williams said.
After the call was finished, Leon Williams picked up a glass of water and he slowly drank it.
Leon Williams thought about the many people who believed that one must treat other people with kindness even if the other person treated them badly but they had misunderstood that concept.
The truth was that when someone asked a question then he received an answer to that. Just like when someone treated you badly then you should respond to them just as badly. What's the point of being kind, anyway?
And the answer to the situation he was in at that time was to fight back.
Fight back with fairness and justice.
Soon, Tobey received the news that Leon Williams had rejected half of the Rossetti's family property.
"Leon Williams had refused to receive any property," Tobey's world seemed to have collapsed all of a sudden.
In the past, he had always thought that no one could refuse the indemnity gift that came from his family, after all, they were offering him half of the Rossetti's properties.
"What? Is that true, Tobey?"
"But Leon Williams had no reason to refuse!"
"It's incredible how getting half of our family's fortune can change his fate. He doesn't have to worry about food and drink for the rest of his life but then he chooses to refuse!"
The whole Rossetti family, including several uncles and aunts of Tobey, added up to more than a dozen people who were shocked by Leon Williams's refusal.
"What does he want?"
"Does he want the Sunny law firm?"
"If he wants the office, that's no good because as of now half of the Sunny law firm belongs to your grandfather's big disciple."
Tobey took a deep breath and said, "He doesn't want any property or a law firm but he wants me to take the blame."
Tobey had just finished telling what happened to the Rossetti family's uncles and aunts and they couldn't sit still because of what they heard.
"This man is so strange that he doesn't want any property but he puts forward such a strange request."
"Maybe there was something wrong with his head."
"He is ungrateful. We gave him a chance to change his fate!"
However, only Tobey understood what Leon Williams meant.
He would repay it all with the price of humiliation.
Tobey was well aware that Leon Williams was doing that to make them pay the price for what they have done before.
Rossetti's family began to argue over Leon Williams's request.
Leon Williams was not in a hurry and he was just waiting until the Rossetti family made their final decision.
In the meantime, he devoted his time to the selection of the best city enterprises that would be held soon.
Because the first two winners will have the opportunity to represent Texas in the Chamber of Commerce.
After working for most of the day, Leon Williams went out to get something to eat and then went back to the Century Court to take a rest.
He also went to the Century Real Estate Project Department.
After all, the Flying Group's real estate project was the pillar of the company and Leon Williams had never been negligent to his duties.
He heard from his subordinates that there is a real estate development company named Strong real estate that is competing with Century Real Estate recently.
Originally Strong real estate is just an unknown small company but within half a year, it has risen with strong momentum and they had developed several real estates in Texas.
Although it cannot compete with Century Real Estate, for the time being, the growth rate of that company should not be underestimated.
This made Leon Williams suspect that there must be a big force behind the success of that company.
In addition to the Flying Group and Wibowo family, he suspected the Carters was the force behind that company, after all, they exude power in the whole city.
Recently, Leon Williams kept his keen eyes on the Carters because he wanted to stop them from dominating the whole city.
After a comfortable sleep, Leon Williams got up and found that he got a missed call from Betty Brown.
Leon Williams rummaged through his phone and found a text message from Betty Brown.
The text message said: Leon, there's something I want to tell you but it's hard to explain.
As he saw that message, Leon Williams immediately dialed her number.
"Come on, what's the matter?"
"I ---," Betty Brown hesitated for a moment and she was embarrassed to say something.
"If you need any help, feel free to ask me."
Leon Williams bought the Brown family Group and in order to make up for it, he was willing to help Betty Brown as much as he could.
"My stepmother said she would move out but I had to buy her a house. I don't want to borrow money from you because I know you are short on money. But I need you to come with me to help us look for a house," Betty Brown said.
"No, wait a minute. Let me get this straight. Why did she ask me to go with you?" Leon Williams was a little surprised.
"To be exact, it was my father's request. He was seriously ill and his time was running out. He said that you are his son-in-law. And now you should at least come forward and do something for your family," Betty Brown finally told him the truth.
"However, our engagement had been torn up by your grandfather and he forced me away from you. These are all the results that the Brown family had always wanted. Why did your father take me as his son-in-law now?" Leon Williams asks doubtfully.
"My father was trying to recover his health abroad some time ago and he didn't know about the marriage contract being torn up by my grandfather. I didn't want to make him feel intense emotions at that time. I didn't even dare to tell him about my grandfather's hospitalization. I just wanted to spend some time with him now because that would be the last," Betty Brown explained.
Leon Williams was speechless when he heard that.
Was she asking him to pretend to be her boyfriend and the Brown family's son-in-law?
"I know this is very difficult for you and if you don't agree, it doesn't matter. I'll explain to my dad that you're too busy at work but thank you for calling me back."
Betty Brown knew she was not qualified to ask Leon Williams to do something for her. After all, it was the Brown's family who broke him and she fully understood why Leon Williams now refused.
"I'll pick you up by car."
After thinking for some time, Leon Williams agreed to help Betty Brown.
Betty Brown's father didn't have much time and when Leon Williams went to see the house with Betty Brown, he just weakly raised his hand to acknowledge their presence.
At the moment, Betty Brown's eyes became red, her nose was sore, and her tears overflowed uncontrollably.
"Thank you, thank you for coming"
Now Leon Williams was with Betty Brown, he saw how nervous she was because her stepmother, Julia Young, was a shrew.
