Chapter 324 It Was a Fake

"A fake is a fake. No need to further explain it." Leon Williams said in a very calm tone.

"I have a certificate to prove its authenticity. I bought it for 1 million dollars! Are you just jealous of my financial capacity?" Tobey was becoming emotional.

"That pearl was a counterfeit," Leon Williams said.

"That pearl was filled with Phosphor so it could illuminate the light," he added.

"What on earth are you bluffing about? This pearl is real."

Tobey didn't know that the pearl was fake. He insisted it was real because of the certificate of authenticity he has.

Leon Williams doesn't need authenticity certificates to identify if the antique was fake or not.

Nowadays, a lot of fake items passed the authoritative organization and marked it genuine.

Sucyanti Wibowo also had doubts. She wanted to take a look at it.

"Leon, I am not accepting this gift but I wanted to know if this thing is really fake." Sucyanti Wibowo asked.

"Real pearls do not need to be illuminated by light for it to glow. It will glow once placed in a dark place. This pearl only illuminates using a light source." Leon Williams explained.

Sucyanti Wibowo nodded and said, "Can you gather more evidence?"

"For sure! I just need Tobey's consent."

Sucyanti Wibowo looked at Tobey and asked, "Tobey, let's let Leon verify its authenticity. If that is fake, you can go back to the seller."

"Sucyanti, listen to me. This pearl cost me 1 million dollars. I am not giving you a fake pearl." Tobey said.

"I believe you." Sucyanti Wibowo didn't make it clear.

She thought that Tobey may not have known it was a fake but she was disappointed when he lied about its price.

He said he spent 10 million dollars and now he said it was 1 million? He should hit himself with a stone on the head.

"Do you agree to let Leon Williams verify it?" Sucyanti Wibowo asked.

"Real gold is not afraid of fire. The seller is my best friend and he will never lie to me! Let him verify it. I'd like to know what he will find out." Tobey agreed to verify its authenticity. The easiest way was to toss it in a beer mug.

The pearl sunk to the bottom of the beer mug.

"What are you doing? This is nonsense!" Tobey said.

Tobey was losing his temper. He felt like he was being fooled by Leon Williams while everyone thought he was too much. How could someone toss an expensive pearl on a beer mug?

The experts were wearing gloves and using a magnifying glass to verify the authenticity of an item. What Leon Williams was doing is unbelievable!

Sucyanti Wibowo frowned but deep inside, she believed in Leon Williams. She thought he knew what he was doing.

"I know this is odd, but don't worry." Leon Williams said.

He believed that this method was effective.

Tobey thought Leon Williams was insulting him. He couldn't hold his anger any longer.

"What are you doing? If my pearl got damaged, you couldn't afford to pay for it even if you sell both of your kidneys!"

Tobey wanted to hold Leon Williams to the ground and beat him to death.

"Manufacturers are using glue to put products together so it will look like a treasure. Counterfeiting has become rampant to the market and it was giving businesses tons of money." Leon Williams said.

"What are you saying? Do you think my pearl was just glued together?" Tobey was so angry that he almost fainted.

At that time, Sucyanti Wibowo pointed to the beer mug in surprise and said, "Look! The pearl is cracking!"

Everyone looked at the beer mug and saw the pearl split in half.

"Son of a bitch! You broke my pearl!"

Tobey dashed towards Leon Williams and grabbed Leon Williams by the collar.

He punched Tobey in the face and the latter fell to the ground.

"A natural pearl was made of ore! Do you think a glass of beer could damage it?" Leon Williams was furious.

Tobey got up and was about to punch Leon Williams back but Sucyanti Wibowo grabbed him.

"Tobey, this one is a fake. These paste-like materials could be the Phosphors." Tobey calmed down and looked at the pearl. He was convinced.

What Leon Williams said was true. It was obvious that it was made with phosphor. Though convinced, Tobey doesn't want to apologize. He was just a driver.

"It was very unfortunate that my friend lied to me about this pearl. I should file a lawsuit."

Tobey always threatened others with lawsuits.

He was deceived by his friend. He spent 1 million dollars on plastic!

Leon Williams smiled and said nothing.

The barbecue party went on. Tobey was irritated the whole time. He hated Leon Williams so much.

Sucyanti Wibowo and Leon Williams went down together to leave. Leon Williams frowned when he noticed a picture frame on the first floor.

The date printed on the photo was just a week ago. He assumed it was just hanged.

"What's the matter, Leon? Does anything bother you?" Sucyanti Wibowo asked.

"The head of this family is ill and time is running out." Leon Williams said bluntly.

Tobey was behind them and heard what he said.

"Why are you always against me? And now you're cursing me? Get out of here! I'll break your leg if I see you again in this house!" Toby shouted.
