Chapter 33: Chapter 33

I wake up to the sound of music quietly playing through the house. I yawn and stretch my arms above my head, glancing at the empty space beside me.

"Tobias?" I call out, a slight frown on my face. I climb out of bed and reach for my dressing gown before putting it on. The warmth instantly greets me and I sigh, running a hand through my dark hair to make it appear. . . presentable.

As I'm walking down the stairs, the music begins to grow louder and I laugh quietly as I realise he's listening to rap. I push the kitchen door open, revealing a shirtless Tobias standing in front of the cooker. He has his back to me and he's bobbing his head up and down, moving his feet to the beat. I smile and lean back against the wall, watching him for as long as I can before he realises he isn't alone.

The smell of bacon, eggs and toast fills the kitchen and my stomach grumbles loudly. Tobias pauses and turns around, his eyes widening as he notices me standing there.

"Hey sleepyhead," he smiles, stretching out on arm for me to take. My hand slips into his and I giggle as he pulls me into his warm chest. I rest my head on it and his arm possessively wraps around my waist. He continues cooking with his free hand and I'm unable to wipe the smile off my face as he continues humming to the music.

"Did you sleep well?" He asks me quietly, placing a quick kiss on my forehead. I mumble a yes and bury my head further into him, breathing in his warm scent.

"I could get used to this." I murmur, watching as he plates up the food with ease. He chuckles, his stomach rippling with the movement.

"You should. I'll cook you breakfast every day if you want me to."

"I do want you to. You look sexy with a spatula." I tease him, glancing up at his face. He smiles down at me, his hand travelling from my waist to my lower back.

"We should eat breakfast and use it as fuel to stay in bed all day," he murmurs, his hand roaming my body. I shake my head teasingly at him, taking a step back. He pouts unhappily, his hand dropping back down to his side.

"As much as I'd love to, I promised my Dad we'd go down to the bank to set up a financial plan." I tell him, wondering whether I'll regret turning his offer down. It's not everyday you get to spend the entire day in bed with someone like Tobias Melvin.

"You owe me Sugar," Tobias says firmly, pointing the spatula in my direction. I grin and blow him a kiss before heading back upstairs.

"Are you sure this is what your Dad wants?" Tobias asks me as we walk inside the bank and take a seat in the waiting area. I nod my head, chewing my lower lip nervously.

"Yeah. He's working abroad all year round so it makes sense for him to buy a home there. I'm going to miss him but I can't be selfish. . . he hates hotels." I explain, reaching forward to take hold of a booklet on the desk beside us. It's headlined MORTGAGE FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS and I begin flicking through it.

"How do you feel about the situation?" Tobias responds, taking the booklet from my hands. I glance up into his chocolate brown eyes and feel myself relax instantly.

"It's a big decision Sugar." He tells me. I nod my head, already knowing the responsibility that comes with buying a house for the first time.

"It's scary dipping into adulthood but I know I have to do it someday. That transition from relying on your parents to completely becoming independent can be difficult but I know I can do it. I've always wanted something to be mine, something that I earned." I tell him, taking hold of his hands. I begin to play with his fingers, a small smile on my face.

"If you want me to buy you a house, say the word. I'll buy you whatever you want." Tobias says casually and I gasp, slapping his chest playfully.

"Didn't you hear anything about me wanting to earn this myself?" I chuckle, shaking my head in disbelief. His lips tug upwards into a wide grin and he shrugs, leaning back into the arm chair.

"I'd love to be your Sugar Daddy."

"Tobias!" I warn him, my eyes widening. I glance around sheepishly but thankfully, nobody overheard him. His laughter fills the air and I narrow my eyes, shooting him my best glare.

"That's not funny." I scold him, crossing my arms over my chest. A sparkle fills his eyes and he leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

"It's a little funny."

"Okay, maybe a little." I giggle, rolling my eyes. He winks in my direction and I feel myself swoon at the sight of him. I don't think I'll ever grow accustomed to having Tobias Melvin wink suggestively at me. I lean forward and he does the same before kissing me. After a few seconds, I purposely pull away so we don't create the biggest PDA show known to man.

"You're blushing Sugar." Tobias teases me. I lean forward and wipe off a small lipstick mark staining his lower lip with my thumb.

"You don't need to tell me every single time I blush."

"Oh yes I do. I love being the reason your little adorable cheeks grow pink." Tobias responds. I roll my eyes and he smirks, handing me back the leaflet on mortgages.

"If you don't understand anything, ask me straight away. Okay?" Tobias says and I nod, giving him a grateful smile. I take the leaflet from his hands and inhale deeply, wondering when I became such an adult.

"Trisha Lockwood?" The financial advisor calls out and I automatically stand to my feet, turning around.

"Yeah, that's me." I smile. He signals for me to follow him and when I begin walking, he pauses and stops.

"Sorry, I forgot to ask. Do you want your partner present?" He says, a friendly smile on his face. I pause and turn around, my eyes landing on Tobias who's leaning back in his armchair, brown eyes directly trained on me. It dawns on me that he's my partner.

Tobias cocks his head to the right, studying me with sudden interest. I realise that I want Tobias Melvin to be my partner forever and because of that, I nod.

"Yes, I do want him present."

The corner of Tobias' lips tug upwards and he stands up, clearing his throat. When he approaches us, the financial advisor holds out his hand and Tobias shakes it firmly.

"Tobias Melvin."

"Lovely to meet you Mr Melvin, right this way."

As we're both walking towards his office, Tobias slides his arm around my waist, holding me close to him tightly. Warmth spreads throughout my chest as I realise this is the definition of a healthy happy relationship. I step towards Tobias closer, wanting to keep him next to me for the rest of my life.
