Chapter 57: Chapter 57

TIME WILL TELL

Janelle's face gave off her perfect physical composure, but as Rashid stood twenty inches opposite her, he could tell what was going on in that little head of hers.

'Anger, Anger, Betrayal, and a sense of loss', Yet he didn't know how to tell her there was no loosing, it wasn't a game, he didn't set it all up, it was the rule of the QATARI LAW COURT and even though he wanted to make her happy, the law wouldn't change her verdict, not for him, talk less of her.

Yet, he would accept the fact that he wanted her back in his life, his house and would do anything to make it happen.

Janelle shook when her name was called by the Judge, and No, it wasn't because he called her, but the name she was addressed with, "Janelle Rashid-Zadir", after the Judge had given his verdict, she couldn't think straight for about three minutes before it finally dawned on her that 1st of September was just a day away.... So by tomorrow she would be in their family house, staying with them like they're lodge mates. Now, she was beginning to regret why she took the enticing offer of Mr Brown Belanger.

~~~~~ RASHIDS' POV ~~~~~
Sitting across the other end of the Court, my attention and gaze was fixed on only one person, Janelle. While I envied her lawyer sitting close to her and my mind being troubled as to why she didn't opt for a female attorney instead, I also berated myself on how much I had hurt her, but now.... it looks like she already moved on without me, and I still feel like I'm the real loser.
We might have had a little make out, which had her trembling beneath me and asking for more, but it was just hormones, hormonal reactions female gets from an attractive male. Five years I've been grieving, hating myself for sending her way, hating myself for not wanting to hear her own part or ask her if she really cheated on me while she had already moved on, had a child for another man. It hurts, it really does.... but it didn't mean I was about giving up.
If I was going to give up on her, I would have done it last five years, I would have given her the divorce she wanted immediately she asked and we wouldn't bring the court now because of a divorce declined by a partner, as long as she wasn't married to whosoever that fûcking bastard is.... I clenched my hands in fist, I needed an out, I needed to breathe do as not to loose my calm.
She wasn't happy, that was what my heart kept telling me, I should let her go, but never, I'd never do that. She was fûcking stuck in this marriage with me, the earlier she knows that, the better for her, and when I looked at her side, behold my angel looking at me.... I couldn't decipher what she was thinking, but a smirk tugged at my lips and I gave in immediately, I saw her coil back.... coil back into whatever feeling she was best at hiding.
Now, I was going home... "Home?" the name sounded foreign in my lips, but since I'd be staying there with My Angel, I better get used to calling it Home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Waitttttt... Are you really squealing and happy about this?" Janelle questioned, her face all shades of surprise as she parked her little belongings, she knew she needn't park much, she would always go for shopping if need be.

"Of course yes, If not for anything at least for the kids, they need a home, a family... and you too. You need Rashid, you love him, you know that too well....."Renee was still talking when Janelle hushed in.

"Of course yes, I love him so much, but the verdict, it just spoilt my plans, divorcing is one thing, but staying together for three months?, Renee!, You really don't understand, it's like placing a Lamb beside a Lion, what do you think would happen?"Janelle mumbled.

Renee began laughing, she laughed so hard that tears rolled down her lids, "Wait-wait, come again Jane Baby," She teased, "You said it's like placing a Lamb beside a Lion?, Jesus Christ, Janelle! You never cease to amaze me, so now I want to know, who's the Lamb and who's the Lion?" her laughter skyrocketed to an even high pitch.

Janelle shook her head, scrunching her nose before taking a deep breathe, her lips almost curving into a smile, but she held herself immediately, not wanting to give Renee the satisfaction of turning something so serious into a laughable thingy.

"You know," Renee paused, wiping the tears off her face with the back of her palm, "If it wasn't for the fact that you're my little cousin and I know you in and out, I wouldn't notice my words got to you, you find this funny but you wouldn't give in to it. You still haven't answered my question yet." Renee brought her MacBook closer to herself.

"You know Rashid is the Lion, he would, he would just pounce on me, eat me up, drain me off everything, over and over and over again..," she ducked her head shyly, "While I'm the Lamb, I can't even fight, can't afford to stand up to a Beast." Janelle pouted.

"J-jesus, p-pl-please just stop. My stomach's hurting too much from my first dosage of laughter, I can't afford another."

There was silence for a while, as Janelle packed her clothes.

Renee broke the silence, "But come to think of it, within this period you can tell Rashid about the kids, you both staying together doesn't change your plan of telling him about the kids right?" she asked.

"I don't know, I'm so confused right now. What do you say?"

"I say you tell him, deal with whatever and however he's going to react, but don't keep something as important as this away from him, it's his right to know, then it's left for him to want to be active in his children's life, but please, let him know. Do this one thing for me Janelle, please?."

"I'd. I definitely will, I never planned on keeping them away from him, I just don't know how, when, he'd be so fûcking mad, six years, six fûcking years of his being absent in his children's life. The questions too," she paused and laughed, "I don't think I was as naive as he thought me to be, I'd have tonnes of questions to answer. Like When, How, Where, Which Day, Time?, Rashid never forgets, he feels we never had any intercourse, so how I would tell him I drugged him.... Godddddd, it's too complicated of a story." Janelle sighed.

"Time would tell." Renee shrugged.

~~~~~~~~
Janelle walked out of her house in a fray yellow short gown and a black flat sandal which suited her dress effortlessly, her hair was packed in an afro style. A Rolex wrist watch was draped around her wrist, and a slim silvery necklace which highlighted her flawless skin, she wore sunshades which kept the sun from penetrating into her eyes.
She dragged her luggage behind her and stopped when she reached her garage, she was about slipping her key in when her gate opened and a car drove in. A fûcking Tesla model.
She groaned, the driver wasn't doing her well, the glasses were tinted, so there was no need trying to know who came in unless he or she stepped out.
"Dargok." she rolled her eyes when he stepped out.
"Rashid always over stepping his boundaries." she mumbled to the hearing of herself, clutching her car key tightly in her hand.
"Madam" he bowed, she responded with a nod, waiting to know why he came by.
"I guess you're going home already." Dargok said in a brisk tone.
"Okay?" Janelle arched a brow, knowing he wasn't here to ask random questions and wanting him to say why he came.
"I was sent to pick you." he said.
"Sent by who?, Rashid." it wasn't a question.
"No, The Sheikh himself, it was an order to me, but I'd rather say a plea to you."
Janelle hesitated, contemplating if to follow him or not, but not wanting to hurt Sheikh Abdul, she walked past him into the car.
While they were on their way, Dargok couldn't bask in the silence, it was disturbing, Janelle held a grudge against him, but he just didn't know how to clear himself, but he knew he'd rather do it now than to elongate it and make matters more complicated.
"Madam.."
"Janelle, It's Janelle, call me by my name, if not publicly at least in private." she corrected.
"I'd get to comfortable with that." he maintained.
"Then I guess you're not ready to talk, when you're, you know how to address me." Janelle insisted.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry about what?" She folded her hands, watching him from the view mirror.
"About Rashid finding you, about everything. I swear I never gave you out, I'd never do that. I keep to my promises, I just didn't know how he figured out it was you." Dargok placated, maneuvering the wheels like the expert he is.
"Dargok?. If that's why you rarely look at me, or chide away from me whenever I come to the palace because you feel guilty of something you shouldn't be guilty of, I'm very sorry about that. I never for once questioned your fidelity to me, even though your unwavering loyalty should be to the Royal Family."
"You're still part of the Royal Family though." he smirked.
"You just have to remind me of my misfortune.."
He gave a lopsided grin.
"I'm yet to see you laugh, I hope one day I'd be seeing that from you." she chortled and immediately Dargoks' face was back to a rock.
Once they pulled into the Royal House, Janelle felt her palms getting sweaty and goosebumps everywhere, she finally came out of the car when she regained her confidence.
Her head was ducked down all the time and when she looked up, she saw Rashid, and... and... the one person she wished never to see again.
Abla!!
"Welcome Home, Prodigal wife, let's see how long you'd stay this time around."
