Chapter 53: Chapter 53
TWO PEAS IN A POD
A week rolled by and Janelle was back to work, working her ass off like her life depended on it for her daily survival, all in a bid to try forgetting what happened two weeks ago between herself and Rashid. Tried to forget the memories, how she grew all hot and cold when she was with him, how her body shook and convulsed when his tongues touched her wet lips, or was it when she climaxed from the intense pleasure his mouth was doing on her, unable to bear how over stimulated she was.
Damn. She knew it was that hard, so while she was trying her best to forget it, she buried herself with work and when she could take it no more, she called for a meeting, twice, in a ploy to see him, but he never graced it. It was always his Personal Assistant, Tiffany that represented him.
Now, she was seated in her dining room in the apartment given to her by Rashid when she first came to Qatar for her work. A smile stretched across her face when her MacBook screen lit up with beaming faces of her two kids.
"Momma, Mommma." Hayley screamed, holding on to her twin brother's hair and jerking him away from the screen, Janelle's eyes twinkled with amusement as she watched her daughter acting so Domineering and bossy just like her father.
"Yeah baby, take it easy with your brother." Janelle beamed giving her a pouty smile, playing with the necklace around her neck.
"Momma he's been so fuck....." Hayley didn't complete her statement as Hayden wrapped his small palm over her mouth.
"Hayley?, Don't say such cuss words, Aunt Renee would take your cat from you if she hears you say such words!" Hayden reprimanded, with his palm still held over her lips tightly.
Hayley scowled before digging her teeth into the middle of her brother's palm who gave out a loud yelp.
"Hayley?, Don't do that again, he's your brother and it's not good to say those words. It's very bad, I heard people who say those words have bad dreams about CHUCKY...." Janelle saw the fear in Hayley's eyes, happy that she was getting into the young girl, before she continued, "You know he does bad bad things to children especially the ones that beat up their siblings and say bad words to them... you know right?." Janelle questioned as she saw how Hayley became so quiet by her words.
"M-mo-momma, I don't like CHUCKY, he's a bad guy, very bad guy. I don't wa-want to see him while sle-sleeping and I really don't want him to harm Hayden or me, especially Hayden. What can I do so he won't come." the little girl cowered in fear, almost about to burst into tears.
"Shhhh, It's okay. You just have to promise Momma that you won't say such bad words and never hit your brother again. How about that? And I promise Chucky would never harm you, he wouldn't dare because it would be two Super-Children against one. Do you promise me?."
Hayden sat quietly watching the duo talking to each other while he observed them. Janelle looked at him and winked, he was really her MINI-HER. Always quiet and observant, only fighting when the need arises to defend himself, and always wanting to give space when he feels it's a private matter.
"I promise Momma, I would never say such bad words....." she paused, cleaned the droplet of tears and hiccuped.
"And?" Janelle pestered, wanting her to finish her words.
"I promise never to beat or bully Hayden. He's my brother afterall." She wasn't even done talking when Hayden rushed over to her and handed Hayley her water bottle.
"Drink it, Aunt Renee said we should always drink water when this starts. Drink it slowly, so you won't choke on it." Janelle watched the two, she almost teared up and held herself from embarrassing herself in front of the kids.
No doubt, they were so lovable and pretty. She wished to be with them immediately, but she couldn't, for their safety and her personal reasons. Yet, she was certain she would tell Rashid about his kids before the year runs out. Already it was middle November and she was already planning everything out.
~~~~~~~~~~~
It was weekend already, another boring weekend for Janelle as she washed the dishes in the kitchen. She was moving her waist to the beat of the music, when her phone rang. She quickly wiped her hands with a towel and reached for her phone across the other side of the kitchen. It was a private number, her brows raised, she hesitated at first before picking it.
"Lani?" A deep husky voice called from the other end of the phone.
Her hands shook, "God!" she groaned as she palmed her forehead. She knew that voice, while she had been away from Canada, she had forgotten to give him a call, not even for once.
"Dante." she replied softly.
"You just forgot about me, about us.." he complained bitterly, she could feel how bitter he was about her sudden departure from his life.
"Dante, it's not what you think. I was going to give you a call, I've been very busy and work hasn't been that good, it's been hectic. I swear it, I planned to get back to you once I was very much settled." Janelle gripped her hands so much until her knuckles turned white, she sucked at lying, no doubt.
"Lani?. Please don't lie to me, I know when you're trying to make things up to me. I've missed you, really missed you, you don't know how much I do. You need not stress yourself, you know I've always been against you going to Qatar, you could have been with me right now, having premium access to baby girl treatments." he chuckled.
"Yeah?. You know I've always wanted to have something doing, work at least, not just for the money.... I mean it's my career and all that, but still..." she walked towards the balcony of the kitchen when she saw a shiny black tinted Bugatti Veyron car drive in.
She peered closer to know who it was, she was expecting no one, but her furrowed brow relaxed immediately when she saw Rashid step out of the car in a blue jean and a white shirt with both sleeves rolled to the underarm and his buttons bared to his chest.
As always, he was looking so smoky hot, Janelle licked her lower lips.
"Lani?" Dante called when he noticed the silence from the other end.
"Er-errem, Da-dante can I call you later?. I promise before the day runs out, I'll get back to you, we could talk long, how about that?." she questioned walking towards the front door of her condo.
"Alright Lani, Do have a nice day." Dante ended the call after blowing a kiss to her.
Janelle kept her phone in the back pocket of her trouser, she took in deep breath while waiting for Rashid to knock.
"Three, two, one." He knocked immediately, a firm knock.
She opened it immediately and moved away from the door, inviting him to come in.
Rashid stood outside not budging, his gaze caressed her skin not heatedly but in a caring and loving way. He was assessing her to know if she was really better. He had been keeping away from her, needed to have some alone time for himself.
"Come in please." She mumbled and he walked in, taking his hands in hers immediately once she shut the door behind her.
"I have been wanting to see you, but it's like you've been so busy. Have you been sick?, Are you okay?, Is anything wrong?." she fired questions at him.
He smiled, a hearty smile, "One question at a time Janelle baby." He said, bent his neck a bit towards her lips... he paused, took on a deep breathe like though he was inhaling her fragrance. She smells so nice, he confessed inwardly.
His lips landed on her left cheek.
"Ohh Rashid.... I've... I've missed you. How do I feel so hot and cold towards you at a time?" she questioned herself, walking towards the couch and slumped herself on it.
"It's that way?. You feel it too. You don't question that feeling Janelle, you don't. I've never and will never question it Janelle baby, but then... we can't keep hiding around like kids who began exploring their sexuality. You want a divorce, I don't want it, but I've to let you take whatever decision you feel is right for you and I don't want to push you to make a wrong choice." he watched the smile slowly diminish from her face.
"Ohh yeah... that's true. So what is your reason for coming here?. It's not to tell me if you're good for me or not, Rashid I'm an adult, I know what's right for me and what's not. You need a glass of water, let me get it for you." she replied rashly and left the sitting room.
She wasn't even out of the sitting room yet when a tear slid down her eyes.
She locked herself in the bathroom, turned on the tap and shower and began crying her lungs out. She wanted the both of them together, she wanted an US, and just when she was giving in to the thought of them being together he comes to her house and talks about the DIVORCE, AGAIN?.
Meanwhile, Rashid walked around the sitting room busying himself while waiting for Janelle to come back.
He stalled to the dining room, Janelle's laptop was on the table and turned on, but that wasn't what made him stop dead in his track, No. It was the picture of a beautiful young girl as the lock screen. He felt a tightening build start from his stomach and up to his chest, which stayed there like a lump.
His hands gripped the handle of the chair, he didn't turn even when he heard movements behind him. Janelle quickly shut the laptop behind her and took three steps away from him. She felt the pounding of her chest beat five times the normal rate.
His eyes softened, he cursed himself inwardly, he didn't mean to scare her, but it felt like he already did, with the way she was acting.
Janelle held her breath, expecting the question she was sure he was going to ask.
"Who is she?."
