Chapter 32: Chapter 32
THE VENOMOUS SHOCKER
Rashid could not help but be worried after one of his bodyguard relayed to him that Janelle was in danger, yet, he trusted them to make sure things don't go the wrong way.
He had the thought that at least, the thug or whoever took off with her, did that only to rob her, yet, he still was worried that they might harm her.
The woman was too stubborn and thinking about it made him growl harshly, he thought that by now, she would have been able to control her temper and man up to her actions, but No, she would rather flare him up ceaselessly.
After she called him that Sunday Morning asking him for a divorce, he made plans with his private pilot so she could go pick her up, because he knew there was no way Janelle would still be with her Qatar Visa, she left everything in the palace before she ran off.
He had waited throughout Sunday, until Monday, yet the woman hadn't said anything about her coming to Qatar, then and there, he knew she was going to turn her back on him. If he knew the exact date she was going to fly in to Qatar, he would have stationed his men around the airport, so she would arrive safely to the residence without being robbed or hurt.
Until he got another message from his men that she is safe and in the penthouse, did his mind become calm and at peace.
He checked his wristwatch, he sighed, he couldn't wait to see her, he had been seeing her, Yes, but in televisions, magazines and social media, the commercials she modelled for. Since forever, this would be the first time he would be seeing her in mind, soul and body.
Should He Be Happy!!?.
He wasn't, No. He didn't like the giddy feeling running through him, and the surge of adrenaline, which relayed his die hard anticipation to see her.
Rashid stood by the side of his window in a black pantsuit and a well ironed crisped white shirt, which buttons were opened until his chest level, his two hands pocketed by the both sides of his black pants suit. It was a three piece suit. His gaze narrowed slightly on the smiling lady who elegantly came down from her car, his breath hitched in his throat... the woman still had a whole more than just a little effect over him, and he was trying so damn hard not to take the exclusive elevator down to the first floor and claim her as His, HIS POSSESSION, HIS PROPERTY.
Of recent he has been acting so cave-like, like the men in the 48BC's.
"Sir, the meeting is about to start, everyone, from the lowest board members to the highest board members are all seated.. and your er-errem", Rashid turned to give Tiffany, his personal assistant an icy glare as she clamped her mouth shut.
He needed not to be reminded, that he is the rejected one and Janelle hadn't come to see him and talk things over, but because of the promotion letter. He hated the fact that she is able to separate work from personal problems, it was so hard for him to achieve that.
"Let's go", he said in that deep, baritone voice of his.

JANELLE'S/ LEILANI'S POV
"I still wonder what I would be doing in a board meeting, rarely have I heard that someone is promoted from being a model to a manager of a modelling company, it's so absurd", my brows furrowed. Like it really doesn't make sense, at all.
"Call it luck, good luck charm. Personally, I have heard of such", Olivia replied, as we walked through to the conference room.
"I really don't know what I would be doing in a board meeting, would I be toasting yam or frying bread?, What exactly would I be doing in a board meeting?", I asked sarcastically, rolling my eyes to the back of my head.
"No idea. The boss's order", she replied hastily
We reached the conference room, when Olivia turned abruptly to look at me, her eyes in a squint mode.
"You see..", she paused, keeping her hand by the crook of her mouth, imitating pretence whispering.
"They are all men in there, all men, so you just have to be very careful of what you say, the way you look, and how you walk. Don't stare too much, you could loose your stand. Just be confident, very confident", she chided.
"Okay", I said, taking in relaxing breath, in and out, before she opened the door of the conference room, I walked in after her with the shawl in my left hand.
I had no idea what the meeting was all about, neither did I have an idea of what to do or say, above all, I hoped and prayed earnestly in my heart that I don't sell myself out.
Once I was in the conference room, everyone's eyes cowered from Olivia to mine, checking me out ceremoniously.
"Bunch of man whores", I cussed inwardly, never letting their deep hole stare make me loose my footings. True to Olivia's words, they were all men in the board members, no female, secondly, I was expecting to see old, bald headed men as board members, but no... they were all mixed up. Men in their forties, fifties and sixties, with like three or four who looked like they were in their late twenties.
I looked around the conference room, looking for the perfect spot to sit. The head chair was vacant and there was no trace of the Boss. I flashed a professional smile towards the mostly unfamiliar faces, looking around, there was an empty chair right next to the head of the table.
"Aha!!," I said inwardly. All the other seats were occupied asides the one at the end of the table and the empty one next to the head of the table, and I wasn't about to choose the one at the end of the table, by the side sat a bald headed man with a creepy face, it didn't encourage me a bit to go there.
I was having a rather blind eyes when I said saw no one with a bald head.
Once I took my place by the side of the head of the table, I slightly crossed my legs atop each other, my eyes kept flickering to the door, waiting for the said Boss to arrive. Already I was feeling so uncomfortable, Olivia had left the room immediately I was seated, so there was no one here who I had gotten acquainted with asides Olivia.
The curious glances from the men in the room made me fidget and uncomfortable. I understood why, it was their first time seeing a woman among their midst in the conference room, sharing the same table with them. It wasn't a regular thing for a woman to join the board meetings, moreso be a manager.
I wouldn't blame them partially, because personally I don't think I possess any quality or requirement to be a manager. A manager is meant to rule with a quite iron fist, and that, that doesn't scream me.
Time was ticking, so was the curious glances of the men in the room bawling with anger
When the door opened, only then did everyone take their interest off of me and stood up as someone…
"Someone!!!," my mind screamed in alarm.
Rashid Zadir walked in with powerful strides, a distant feature marring his handsome face, Dargok, his personal bodyguard walked in also, Desmond Novak : a very popular model who did commercials for the Pepsi beverage brand, and lastly was a pretty young lady, who looked like she was in her early twenties. Sure enough I'm older than her.
I could feel the rapid beating of my heart, and the poundings in my chest when his gaze landed on me immediately. I almost squirmed in my pants. He didn't have those angelic, kinda stormy blue eyes of last SEVEN YEARS. Now, he looked ruthless, like a cave man, coupled with the fact that he didn't shave, it added to his dangerously looking features.
His powerful dominating stormy eyes, never left me, not for a second, until he took his seat beside me.
The whole room went silent, an effect of the commanding aura he carried with him.
It seemed like a dream, I needed someone to wake me up.
Finally, realization dawned on me, when I remembered he was seated on the chair at the head table.
Boss!!. Could it be possible?, That he's actually the CEO of this modelling agency!!?.
"RASHID ZADIR, the CEO??!!."
