Chapter 168: Chapter 168
After making a call, Lin Fan came back to the door of room 1001 and knocked again.
This time, the door quickly opened, and it was the same man from before.
The man peeked out and, seeing that it was Lin Fan, frowned and said, "Another delivery?"
Lin Fan smiled and said, "No, my stomach’s acting up. I was hoping to use your bathroom, is that okay?"
The man said coldly, "Sorry, it’s inconvenient."
After saying that, the man was about to close the door.
Lin Fan smiled and said, "No problem. By the way, it seems like I noticed some blood stains on your door handle. What’s going on? Are you hurt, is it serious?"
The man’s expression subtly changed but then he calmly said, "I’m fine. You wanted to use the bathroom, right? Come in."
The man opened the door.
Lin Fan happily walked in, saying, "Thank you so much, Mr. Li. You are Mr. Li, right? The name on the delivery is Li Youcai."
The man responded nonchalantly, "Mm, I am."
But Lin Fan didn’t go to the bathroom. Instead, he took a look around the room. With top-notch insight, he quickly grasped the room’s details.
"Haha, Mr. Li, you live alone, don’t you?" Lin Fan asked. Based on his observations, it was clearly a house for a single person.
The man seemed a little impatient: "Weren’t you supposed to use the bathroom? I have things to do soon, so hurry up."
Lin Fan said, "Alright, I’ll go right now."
So, Lin Fan walked into the bathroom but didn’t stay long; he simply washed his hands and came out.
"So fast?" The man asked, surprised.
Lin Fan smiled and said, "I suddenly feel better. Looks like it passed. Thank you, Mr. Li, you’re very kind."
The man replied, "You’re welcome."
Lin Fan said, "But it seems like I detected a bloody smell in your bathroom sink. Maybe my nose is sensitive. Mr. Li, are you sure you’re okay? I noticed blood on the handle earlier too, but you don’t seem injured."
The man’s eyes flickered with surprise, showing a hint of a smile: "I’m fine, you must be mistaken. Thanks for your concern. By the way, why don’t you sit down and have some water before you leave? From what I see, you delivery guys work hard."
Lin Fan said excitedly, "Really? Thank you so much, I am quite thirsty."
While speaking, Lin Fan walked over to the sofa in the living room and sat down, without any hesitation.
The man went into the kitchen and came out shortly but didn’t bring water for Lin Fan. His hands were held behind his back.
"Who are you, really, and what do you know?" The man’s face darkened as he asked.
Lin Fan looked puzzled, "I don’t quite understand what you mean, Mr. Li."
The man said coldly, "I just checked the delivery; the name on it is not Li Youcai, but Wang Youcai!"
Lin Fan let out an "oh" and smiled, "So you admit you’re not the homeowner. If I’m not mistaken, you must be a thief. Did you kill Wang Youcai?"
The man looked shocked, "How did you know?"
Lin Fan said, "I figured it out. Just now downstairs, I noticed that the building here is easy to climb, and the balcony of this apartment has no security bars. You climbed in through the balcony and accidentally knocked over a potted plant there."
The man couldn’t help but glance at the balcony, sure enough, there was an overturned potted plant.
This young man’s observation skills are too sharp, as if he had seen him climb in.
"What else?" The man couldn’t help but ask.
Lin Fan said, "And your clothes, they obviously don’t fit. After killing the homeowner, you had bloodstains on you, so you changed into the homeowner’s clothes, disposed of your bloody clothes when you went out, then came back trying to stage the crime scene. That’s why there are bloodstains on the doorknob."
The man’s voice began to tremble, "How did you know I was staging the crime scene?"
This guy, it’s as if he’s been watching me do everything!
Lin Fan said, "I noticed, when you first entered to steal, you must have ransacked the place, then tidied it up to make it seem like no burglary occurred. But once something is moved, it leaves traces, and I saw it right away."
The man said, "What else?"
"If I’m not mistaken, you plan to make it look like the homeowner committed suicide. There are only two rooms here, the homeowner’s body is in one of them?"
The man’s face twitched, and he said fiercely, "Why do you need to know so much? The more people who know, the more likely they are to die. Don’t you understand that?"
Lin Fan chuckled, "You wouldn’t want to kill me too, would you?"
The man drew his hands from behind, revealing a kitchen knife!
"You can’t blame me, only yourself for sticking your nose in!" The man sneered.
He went into the kitchen just now to get a knife.
Lin Fan said, "I advise you not to struggle; you can’t escape now. I called the police before I came in. You might as well sit down and wait for them, and just confess."
The man was shocked and furious, "You damn called the police!"
Lin Fan said, "That’s right, I did. So even if you kill me now and escape, you won’t have time to get away. You should stop struggling, it’s no good for you."
The man shouted, "Of course it’s good! I’ll kill you to vent my anger. Who told you to meddle, you deserve to die!"
He then raised the knife and lunged at Lin Fan, trying to kill him.
But his knife didn’t touch Lin Fan; instead, his wrist was firmly grasped by Lin Fan.
Lin Fan applied a little force.
The man felt like his wrist was caught in a vice, causing cold sweat to drip down in pain, rendering him utterly powerless and forcing him to his knees.
Clang, the knife fell from his hand.
Only then did the man realize he had run into a brick wall.
He initially thought Lin Fan was a fool, daring to come in and expose him — wasn’t he courting death? Little did he know, Lin Fan was highly skilled and didn’t see him as a threat at all.
Too strong, how could there be such a strong delivery guy in the world!
The man was about to cry.
Lin Fan said coolly, "Are you going to behave now? If not, I’ll cripple your hand and break your leg."
The man hastily said, "Don’t, I don’t dare anymore."
Lin Fan said, "That’s good. Sit across from me and wait for the police."
As he spoke, he let go of his hand.
The man obediently sat across from Lin Fan, using his other hand to rub his wrist. It felt like Lin Fan almost shattered his bone with that grip, his hand strength was terrifyingly strong.
Lin Fan smiled, "I advised you not to struggle; you insisted on it. It’s fine, your hand will be fine after a few days of rest."
So they sat facing each other, waiting.
After experiencing Lin Fan’s grip, the man sat properly, not daring to make any trouble.
When Loli and her partner Little Wang burst in, seeing this scene, they looked at each other.
Loli, curious, asked Lin Fan.
