Chapter 2031: Chapter 2031
If possible, the Cai siblings naturally preferred to take over the strange-looking Spirit Ark before them without actually fighting.
Thus, after concentrating nearly all the strength of the Blizzard Pirates to encircle the ark and feeling victory already in their grasp, the chiefs finally appeared, attempting to persuade the cultivators inside to surrender.
Even so, they remained extremely cautious. Even when they revealed themselves, they merely stood upon the prows of their Star Ships, still protected by their vessels’ defensive formations.
Tian Mengzi stepped out from the Spirit Ark, meeting the gaze of the two pirate chiefs. A smile could be seen on his face as he spoke. “Since the two of you have already arrived, why not come on board and have a chat?”
The Cai siblings exchanged a glance, and Cai Yingxue replied, “True Immortal... How should we address you? You must be aware of your current situation. An ark may be what we seek, but in the end, it is only an ark.”
With overwhelming advantage on their side, the siblings naturally would not risk entering an Ark they didn’t control.
Seeing their reactions, Tian Mengzi chuckled, “I am from the Tian Family. It is true you appear to have surrounded my Ark completely, but to me, this looks more like an escort fleet.”
Rather than thinking his words were arrogant, the Cai siblings instead grew even more serious.
“Who exactly are you? Which Heavenly Field do you come from? Where is your fleet now?” Cai Zhuifeng suddenly spoke, firing off three questions in succession.
At the same time, as his tone grew sharper, the aura of the siblings swelled violently. The oppressive aura of two high-level True Immortals descended upon Tian Mengzi.
Not only that, but the siblings seemed to be wielding a secret art, likely fusing their bloodline qi together into near-perfect unity, releasing an even greater pressure, one that nearly rivaled the Giant Ape King.
Perhaps to coordinate with their chiefs, the Blizzard Pirate Fleet that filled the void began to advance, pressing down on Tian Mengzi and the Spirit Ark behind him.
Yet Tian Mengzi remained smiling, as if the overwhelming pressure upon him were nothing more than a breeze.
Facing the two pirate chiefs in the distant void, their expressions flickering with doubt, Tian Mengzi continued, “I already invited you to come onto my Ark for a chat. Why can’t you understand what I’m saying?”
Cai Yingxue’s face darkened and she growled, “Enough of these tricks! Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth chiefs... Act now! Use the anchors to bind this Spirit Ark in place. My brother and I will hold the line. I want to see what game they are playing!”
As her voice fell, four medium Star Ships moved out from different directions under the cover of others, and they hurled out anchors chained by massive links that shot towards the Spirit Ark. Already surrounded, the Ark had no room to dodge.
But Tian Mengzi, standing calmly above the ark, took no measures to avoid the incoming chains. He simply smiled as he watched what was about to happen
At that moment, Cai Zhuifeng’s expression shifted. A bad premonition welled up inside him.
Just as the four anchors with their long chains were about to strike the Spirit Ark, Cai Zhuifeng seemed to realize something and yelled, “No! Be careful!”
Cai Yingxue who wasn’t far from him at that point, looked puzzled. Though she did not understand what he discovered, the tacit bond and trust built over the years drove her to instinctively defend herself.
The next instant, the anchors pierced through the Ark’s hull... However, there was no sound, and the Ark took no damage.
At the same time, the sound of shattering glass could be heard above the large Star Ships of the Blizzard Pirates. Their protective formations broke and the phantom of a long and narrow vessel cut across their ships’ prows.
“An illusion? No, that’s not it!” Because Cai Zhuifeng’s cultivation was higher, his reaction was also quicker than Cai Yingxue’s.
But staring at the fading afterimage of the Ark in the distance, along with the four tangled anchors and chains, he realized his judgment was wrong again.
His judgment was wrong, but he knew what was happening. Whether it was his misjudgement or a trick the other side played... What just happened wasn’t something cultivators like them could achieve.
There had to be an even more terrifying existence aboard the Spirit Ark!
That was the only thing he managed to shout.
The very next moment, the scene around him began to warp as the changes were strong enough to make True Immortals like him dizzy.
Cai Zhuifeng struggled to stay clear-headed, trying to see what was happening, but found nothing. He saw only endless streams of starlight filling every corner of his vision.
Then the voice of the second tier True Immortal he met earlier rang clearly in their ears. “I said I wanted to invite the two of you on board as guests...Here you are!”
Cai Zhuifeng’s instincts screamed danger. He tried to push his domain outwards to protect himself, but his inner qi vanished like mud sinking into the sea. Then came a scream from Cai Yingxue. Google seaʀᴄh 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹✦𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖✦𝓷𝓮𝓽
The next second, everything cleared. The chaotic spinning around him stopped, replaced by the ordinary interior of a Star Ship. At his side stood Cai Yingxue, pale with fright.
Cai Zhuifeng instinctively stepped forward to shield her, his gaze sweeping across the chamber. His eyes quickly locked on Tian Mengzi, the second tier True Immortal they had seen earlier.
Feeling a tug on his sleeve from Cai Yingxue, he discovered Tian Mengzi was not alone. In fact, among all the strangers he was seeing, Tian Mengzi sat in the lowest seat!
Cai Zhuifeng’s gaze passed over Tian Mengzi to Yuan Qiuyuan and Chu Jia, both also True Immortals. Eventually, she looked at the Giant Ape King, who had shrunk his body to the size of an ordinary man.
“A high-level beast king... Its aura...” His heart trembled with shock. At that moment, the Giant Ape King opened his eyes and turned to meet his gaze.
With that glance came a crushing might, like a storm overwhelming the world.
Almost instinctively, the siblings fused their divine souls together to resist. Even so, they were overwhelmed in an instant.
“Grand completion stage!” Cai Zhuifeng spat the words out between clenched teeth.
Before Cai Zhuifeng could continue resisting, a clear voice rang through the air. “Enough. Ape King, be at ease. Don’t frighten our guests.”
The suffocating pressure melted away instantly, vanishing as if it had been no more than a dream.
The Cai siblings both exhaled in relief, but the sense of crisis weighing upon them grew only heavier.
At last, their eyes fell upon the young cultivator seated at the head seat, above even the Giant Ape King. Strangely enough, they had overlooked him until he had spoken.
Cai Zhuifeng drew a deep breath, stepped forward, and bowed respectfully. “Junior Cai Zhuifeng, together with my cousin, Cai Yingxue, greets Senior. Can we be of any assistance?”
