Chapter 35: Chapter 35

The Vatore's mansion*****

Men in deep heated conversation when I walk past the oak doors, all sets of eyes falls on me. Some looks reads unsatisfied, angry but yet some seems hopeful.

"Any news about Leandro because I want to believe that that is what I am being summoned for." Sitting down furious as hell when I'm meant to go for my check up in the hospital due to the recent back ache. My eyes didn't falter meeting each gaze of the seven men in the room, giving a soft sigh stretching my back a little crossing a leg over the other for better relaxation, the voice of one disrupts me. Menacing, accusing, if not pleased on what he is about to reveal.

"What we need to address is the issue at hand?" A proud smile crosses my face taking my gaze to meet his angered one. I know that after the party where Elijah dominantly showed himself in front of all news will spread like wild fire about my betrayal and I am ready for them which makes it easier to finish off the ones posing as huge threats to my family.

Besides, it's truly not my fault the damn Russian couldn't die proving how much his body and heart is as hard as his below the belt faculty once again rendering me fixated to his dexterity.

"And what is the issue at hand Guiseppe?" Squarely looking at him.

"You lied to us." Relaxing back on the chair tapping my nail dramatically on the table looking bored as ruckus rise up amongst the men in the room.

"And if I may ask how did I do so when I swore, took an oath under the Vatore's name. Tell us?" Tucking that hand under my chin, my hazels never left him which angered him more with how composed or can I say nonchalant to his bark that can be compared to his bite. If Alexei were here, he will call him clown shit.

"My brothers." He exclaims. "The Russian King is very much alive. Or do I lie?" Looking triumphantly at me with a crooked smirk sitting on his face. "She is not fit to sit on that chair." His index points accusingly at me which to his greatest luck Elijah strictly warns me not to stress this period. But I wouldn't sit and let him insult me. Never. In the days of my Pa, those words takes a spawny life along with it in the air. Pushing my plate aside sitting up, hands on the marble table.

Countering him. "And you are?" He looks gobsmacked. Embarrassment clouding his face. Shaking my head snapping my fingers, my bodyguard comes in with my not so yummy salad placing it in front of me. I begin to eat. "Yes I did shoot the Russian King and father of my child who fell off the bridge." Pausing, taking out three bloody bullets out of my purse looking at all the men who serve the Italian mafia. "Here is my proof but him surviving can be what I call fate..." Grinning at the furious Guiseppe. "You know." Mockingly, I add making a fool of his accusation. The men backing him up were rendered silence, speechless.

"I avenged the death of my family but sometimes death plays a huge joke on us and I won't take it likely to be accused by a traitor of the Italian mafia." Glaring at the men in the room.

"Enough Miss Vatore. You do not accuse any of us for such proproustrous act. We served your father and will very well serve you until our children's children." The oldest of them and the European undertaker says cautiously.

"I beg to defer Senór Andrea." Silencing him.

"Mark my words that I, Sonia Vatore henceforth strip Guiseppe of his rights to the brothers oath of the Italian mafia. He is hereby termed a traitor of the Italian mafia with evidence of conspiracy with Alejandro Flavia against the Vatore's name."

"You can't do it! You can't do it!" Screaming, he struggles against my bodyguards who immediately seized him after my proclaiming, holding him down from charging towards to me. Everyone rise from their seats either screaming at each other or trying to talk me out of it.

"She can and she will." Lucien reveals himself through the doors taking everyone off guard.

"Lucien Vatore?" Someone says.

He looks at me to which I answer his unspoken thoughts with a nod because I know he is worried I'm also stressing the baby. Luc looks back at the men who till seconds ago hasn't seen the splitting image of my father standing in front of them, powerful and of great strength portraying the grace of the titled name. Their eyes on the six foot four italian in a formal wear, hair sleek back, a scar to the side of his right ear running down his neck but other than that he looks like their dead King. A very splitting image.

Meeting Guiseppe lastly, he says threateningly. "Get out and never return. All has been seized from you." With not been able to oppose the other heir, dejected, he steps away glaring solely at me sitting down and enjoying my salad squaring his gaze.

Once close within distance with Lucien, my brother gives an obvious threat. "I will kill you myself if you ever give me a reason to." The fear grips him hard, taking one last hateful look at me before leaving the room. Lucien runs a hand through his hair brushing invincible dirt off his suit jacket before taking his sit beside me.

"If anyone will love to join the kind Guiseppe please have at it or keep your calm. But if I ever sniff the slightest revolution you will hear from me." Not even a pin drop. "Good."

"I guess we can begin with..."

"Santiago, glad you could make it at such short notice." Watching him occupy the empty seat opposite mine. "I will make this quickly as possible for the both of us." He says nothing, merely looking at me in somewhat way.

"As you know I carry the Russian child in me and he is alive but what you don't know is that I am engaged to marry him." Brown eye snaps to my finger sitting proudly on the table as the sun rays shines on the huge diamond ring, glaring at the hand before meeting my face.

"You bring me here to mock me? To spite me? Huh Sonia?" Growling.

"None of that to my contrary Santiago and you have to understand this. I love that man against all odds which is why I needed to have this meeting without him. You need to accept my union with him or I have to cut ties with you and your family." This madness has to stop and if he thinks I will venture into the webs of his hate then he must be crazy. Right now, I'm too happy to see the bad and too angry to let open threats set loose. I will do everything to secure the life I have and the life I want, with or without him.

He laughs mockingly. "So it has come to this, on your knees for a white maggot."

"Elijah is ten times the man you will ever be and I will ever need. You can either be with me or against me."

"And what if I say I won't accept your proposition?" He contradicts.

"I leave that to your instincts to answer but I will have this child and I will marry Elijah with the blessings of the living." Signalling the waiter to bring the bill. He nods walking towards my table.

"You threaten me Sonia?" Fishing five euros bills exceeding the normal payment, the waiter's eyes shines looking at me in wonder. I shooed him away going back to my conversation.

"That is not a threat Santiago. I will kill you myself if you come between the Russian and myself... Now that is a threat I will see to the end." Sitting up. "Tell Senór Vampa, he stands with the Vatore's oath but I'm happy to nullify that oath if he ever challenge me again."
