Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Sitting beside Elijah on a couch, his hand slouch over my shoulder just as I lean on him watching him give orders to his men who came to report to him about unfinished businesses. My phone goes off seeing an encrypted call knowing the one person who makes such a call. Sitting up to walk out to a much safer place with no Elijah prying on.

"Excuse me." Reluctantly he lets me go but not without eyeing my phone sceptical about the unknown caller who makes me leave his side or his ears. Once in a safe distance I answer glancing behind me. Clear.

"Speak."

"I have found your package." Piquing my interest at heart as my lips twitch in concurance. I turn behind catching the door open softly I walk to it closing the door quietly after I listen for voices still in deep conversation. "Okay hold on."

Still precautious, I walk farther away from the door to the window. If Elijah finds out about this, he will think I went crazy but I have to do it for me.. our baby.

"What have you got for me Kumar?" The sound of keyboard tapping furiously can be heard as he hums to himself clearly enjoying the relaxing Arabian tune.

"Your package is somewhere in Italy with a man of state." Italy? Right under my nose all along. His voice breaks my thoughts. "Ok. Sending you coordinates right now and..." Keyboard goes wild again as he continues humming his song with me waiting for his intel. "...done." The soft beep of my pad notifies me of his message looking across the room to where it sat on the table.

Walking to pick it up. "Did you also have what I requested for?"

"Yes. Sending it to you right away." My day could not get anymore better hearing the words fly out of his lips.

"Your money will be sent to your swiss account."

"Always nice doing business with you Miss Vatore." He playfully retorts quickly ending the call knowing how much I hate when he tease me. Brushing that to the back of my mind I focus on deciphering the code to which he sent the coordinates.

It has always been like that between us that way no one gets to understand the message shared in secret. To others it seems like a scribble of numbers and letters but to us it is a message passed. The numbers one to ten plays amongst the alphabets and punctuation marks creating the code. Once deciphered it reveals the message. It was an old algorithm my mama taught me to pass a secret message and so far it has kept me safe, taken down my targets, and find the missing pieces in my life.

What baffles me most is the second and most important message. I didn't want to do this all along but it's time I find out the truth in other to secure my future with my baby and his father. At this point I am done putting up with people trying to break us apart. Now they don't need to worry about coming to us, finding us; I will come to them one by one and I will end them.

Satisfied with what I see, I transfer Kumar's money into one of his account going for the door pulling it open. "Elijah! Oh my heart! What are you doing here?" Engrossed in my activity I fail to notice him behind the door about to enter... Or was he standing there all along? Listening.

I couldn't tell with Elijah watching his face contort in its conventional look never giving anything away. One thing I find annoying about this sexy Russian.

"You took long and I came to check on you." Looking me dead in the eyes, I fix a feinged smile on my face. If he gets a whiff of my plans it all will come down the drain. "Who called?"

Watching him intensely to know if he asks that just to quench his ever burning possessiveness over his possession, or to know what I'm up to behind close doors. Simply

put it meekly, both ways he doesn't trust my actions and he will find out. Standing on my tiptoe I pull him for a quick kiss looking in his eyes playing fatigued. "Just some minors issues in the estate, nothing to fret about. I will need to go back to handle some lapses."

The best way to scale past Elijah's radar is seduction, well that only works for me. But the look he gives my facade screams to me he is nowhere believing my lying ass. Poker and not giving anything away of being caught a sigh escapes me stretching my muscles looking out of the room to the crashing sea waves.

"Do you want to go swimming?" He muse following my gaze.

"If only you join me." Throwing a flirty wink biting my lips for more emphasis. Please let this work.

The soft sand welcomes my bare foot as we walk on the shore quietly loving the niche of tranquility, the wind blows my hair as my short pink petal gown dance along with it; goosebumps covers my exposed legs from the slight chilly wind which I welcomed. It's just so beautiful and calm, taking a deep breath I expel letting out a soft sigh. Needy of his touch I shift closer hugging his tall form, thick hands run along the soft tendrils of my hair caressing it softly before dropping a chaste kiss on my hair. His hands dips into his pants pocket taking his black ray-bans fixing it over his eyes looking at the sea with me. What a perfect...

"I know you are lying Princess. Don't make a fool of me." Shit!!!
