Chapter 37: Chapter 37

Wendy pushed the man in a wheelchair, who was staring at me with a gloomy expression. Wendy, on the other hand, showed no emotion when she looked at me. Their focus was all on me, and she gazed down at Adonis’ hand gripping mine. Because I was concerned that Wendy was incorrect about our position, I attempted to remove it, but Adonis refused.

I’m afraid I can’t defend myself, especially after what happened to Adonis and me. I knew it was a mistake on Wendy’s side, but I knew it was all I wanted. Even though I tried to convince myself that I was sorry for what had transpired, I couldn’t. The only thing bothering me is my feelings for Adonis. If I hadn’t sent in the words and heat of my body, I wouldn’t have been crushed today.

“Let go of my hand! What?!” I fight to get his hand off of me, but he won’t let go. We have practically pulled down the steps. It was so terrifying that I thought I may fall.

Because he was probably bored with my struggles. He snatched my waist and then fastened me. What would Wendy think if she saw us now? My eyes widened. I was nearly taken aback since the two people who had just come were staring at us. What exactly is going on in this man’s head? Isn’t he concerned about what his fiance will say?!

“Shut up,” he says now, staring at me. He moved his lips to my ear and said. “Move. And I’ll kiss you.” I could feel the heat of his breath on me as if the aroma of potion surrounded me.

I adjusted my position and did not move since this man may think otherwise and be giving me the truth. And who knows, maybe I’ll be included at the end of his rage. I’ve already stopped breathing. I merely lowered my head and didn’t look at the newcomer, but I jumped when the man abruptly yelled.

“AREN’T YOU CRAZY?!? CAN WHAT WENDY SAYS BE TRUE?!” The man was enraged, nearly losing his breath because of the yell he let out, while I, in turn, closed my eyes and I immediately caught Adonis’ white T-shirt. I clenched his shirt.

He didn’t come to the office today, so he was only able to stay home. I didn’t want to assume, but same, he seemed to be waiting for me when he suddenly came out of the stairs. I shook my head to get my thoughts out of my mind and focus on what was happening now.

The man in the wheelchair looks like Adonis. Although he doesn’t look very much, their resemblance is obvious. The color and shape of the eyes are the same, but they have vibes that are different, so I can’t say that he is the father of Adonis. I only confirmed that he was not the father when Adonis called him.

“Uncle Hernan, why are you here?” Even though the man had shouted earlier and the face was still angry, Adonis’ face and voice remained calm. He still doesn’t let go of my waist even though I have no plans to leave. Who else would try to leave such a tense situation?

“WHERE HAS YOUR BRAIN GONE AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE BECOME STUPID?!” He didn’t stop screaming and that echoed throughout the house. I can’t be bothered because I seem to be the reason for their quarrel even though no one is given a name or mentioned.

“Let’s talk next time. When did you arrive home?” After he stated and requested, he drew me down. I shall not struggle for fear of incurring the wrath of Hernan, also known as Adonis’ uncle.

The man remained silent, closing his eyes firmly and clasping his hands as though to keep them from unleashing fire. My fist was clenched in Adonis’ clothes as if I were a kid about to be reprimanded by a father.

I was surprised when Adonis took my hand, and he clasped it with his. I looked at him. Why isn’t Wendy speaking? Is it true that they have no relationship? No one speaks to all of us. Even his uncle seems to be blowing the wind to make Adonis even more tolerant. I hope he doesn’t open his eyes first and I’ll run out so they can talk. But I was wrong. He opened his eyes but now he is calmer.

“Have you forgotten what they did to your parents? Can’t you imagine how your parents felt when the— ” The man didn’t finish what he was going to say when Adonis shouted.

“MARK !!! PREPARE THE CAR!” If his uncle’s voice was loud ago, now his voice is louder than that. They are scary. Like an Alpha. They are like monarchs and with just one wrong move, the soldiers will surround you.

Mark immediately went out with Raymond. I didn’t know where they came from because I could only hear their footsteps from behind me. When I looked back at them, they had suitcases in their hands. It was three suitcases and when I looked I had one suitcase there. What’s happening? Will he drive me out of here? Even though I couldn’t continue the various questions in my brain, Adonis spoke again.

“I don’t want you to mention that topic here. I’m leaving now. You and Wendy can live here temporarily if you don’t want the condominium I bought for you.” He said directly and didn’t wait for Hernan to speak and pulled me out wearing only what I wore since earlier.

Where are we going? I was not informed that we were going somewhere. I wish I was at least prepared. Because of Adonis’ shout earlier, his ruddiness did not subside. His red face and neck caused anger, and it was scary that he might heap the heat of his head on me. Even when we got in the car, I did not speak.

While inside the car, he did not remove his grip on me. I never took it back. Because of the cold aircon in the car, I slowly fell asleep. I didn’t know what time we were going to travel away, so I also didn’t know what time I slept.

When I woke up. All I knew was that the car was no longer maneuvering and that we were just inside. When I looked around, I noticed I was lying on someone else legs. When I looked at who it was, I saw Adonis sound asleep and also looking up.

I stood up and saw the car was not on the ground. It was on the ship because I saw the sea. I opened the door, and then the wind hugged me and the fishy smell of the sea. While looking at the blue sea, my stomach felt like it was boiling while thinking about the seafood. My saliva was almost dripping. Even though I don’t like to eat seafood.

“Grrr!” I exaggerated the reaction of the wind blowing in the dress I had been wearing ever since. I was about to return when suddenly someone hugged me from behind. He put his chin on my shoulder, then sighed.

“Do you like it?” His voice was a little hoarse. I just let him hug me. I did not answer his question. It looks like this big ship belongs to him because there are no people and just us. Perhaps Mark and Raymond were inside, preparing something. Maybe only crews are here.

I suddenly slapped his hand when he slid it on my stomach, but he just chuckled and laid down his hand there as if massaging my stomach. I was surprised by what he said while playing with my belly. I never thought he would open that topic to me himself.

“When we have a baby, what do you want to name our child?” He didn’t stop softening and followed the rhythm that circled my stomach like a crystal ball.

He still dares to talk about the baby when, in fact, he can’t even give me a good answer about how he feels about me. I removed his hand from my abdomen to get inside. He thought giving birth was just a joke. For the person who has nothing good has happened in her entire life, that’s what I dread. That the person I will love may leave me. I almost gave up everything I felt for him, but in the end, it was like he still left me in the air.

As I was about to enter, he blocked my way. His face looked irritated because I left him but I walked to the side to get away, but he still blocked me. He has been annoying me since earlier! I’m hungry and I want to eat but he adds more!

“Let me explain why I could not say goodbye when I left the province.”

When he said that, I looked at him and prepared myself to listen to what he wanted to say. I was no longer the one who hoped that his reason was deep. It’s hard to trust.
