Chapter 174: Chapter 174

Luna’s POV

After the lawyer informed me of the things I might acquire, he also instructed me on which firms I should prioritize. I haven't slept in a few days since Mark has assigned me books to study in order to have a better understanding of the company. I regret not learning about it sooner, despite my parents' encouragement.

Due to my extremely tired eyes, I bowed my head on the table. I'm currently in Adonis' office, where I'm gathering further information that may assist me.

Tomorrow, I'm required to report to work. Mark stated that in the absence of a representative, many stockholders will sell their shares. He also added that I must earn the trust of businessmen and businesswomen if I truly wish to fill Adonis' shoes.

One of the things I pondered was if Hernan would ever return. It is impossible that he is unaware about these things. Yet, he did not disturb me.

I was unconscious that my eyes were shutting in my head.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Luna."
When I heard my name, I opened my eyes.
I instantly lifted my head when I realized I had fallen asleep. I looked around and noticed that the light was peaking through the clouds. When I turned to see who had called, I found Wendy gazing at me with concern.
"Do not overdo it, Luna. You do not have to learn all of this in a week. You will gradually come to understand it all." As she played with her finger, her hand was in front of her.
"If I do not execute this, Adonis' effort will be in vain." I rose from my seat and sorted the documents I had been reading the previous night. Furthermore, I removed the glasses that I had neglected to remove prior to falling asleep.
"I appreciate your concern for me." I left the office, giving her a miserly smile.
When I entered Athen's room, I spotted her still fast asleep. I kissed her forehead first, before I walked to the bathroom. Once I began working at Adonis' company, I knew I would miss time with her. Even though they gave the name of the company to mine, I can't shake the feeling that Adonis still owns it.
I made a hasty preparation. I took a deep breath before I began to emerge. I'm apprehensive since today seems to be the start of my first day at school.
Mark promptly escorted me to the workplace, but he was no longer with Raymond, since the mansion was without a guard.
As a result of what occurred to Cole and myself, I have banned them from bringing guards directly to the agencies. I also did not accuse the agency of negligence in light of what transpired since I was confident they were not to blame. Cole would go to any length to obtain what he desired, so I was unsurprised.
"Do not wait for me; follow Raymond straight to the mansion. I'll simply inform you when I settle." I pushed open the door to the passenger seat. Raymond will pick me up later to ensure that the two of them are treated fairly.
"How can you be certain, Miss Luna, that you no longer need to be observed? What if...?"
"Do not be alarmed; he is unlikely to act now that he is still imprisoned. You only need to ascertain who let him free. We need to plan our next course of action."
I no longer waited for him and entered the building.
As soon as I came inside, I noticed the staff' modest murmurs while the rest of the room was staring at me from head to toe. I stood up to demonstrate to them that I was competitive and that they were not permitted to gossip in my presence.
What I did appeared to be effective, as I observed others fleeing and others bowing down and returning to their business.
When I reached the top floor, I encountered Adonis' secretary. She smiled sadly at me, as if she had learned of the news. I approached the woman. I doubted she would continue as secretary to Adonis.
I've forgotten her name because it's been an extended period of time since I last saw her. I finally succumbed and hugged her. Either she was taken aback by what I did.
"I appreciate your commitment to him all the way to the end."
I sensed her body tensing. I looked at another employee who was staring at us, maybe perplexed by what I had done.
"I'll work out the details of your new contract later." I disengaged from her embrace. "I'd appreciate it if you could bring all of my schedules today. I will check them." I turned away from her and proceeded directly to Adonis' office.
I used to come here only to visit; now I shall take his place. I still prefer that he sit here since this is a more comfortable position for him.
Instead of being overjoyed that my name was on the table, I felt sad. My heart suddenly beat. Even though I don't spend much time at his workplace, my mind can't help but envision him in every area of this space.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

After a few moments of observation of the structures, the door reopened. Adonis's secretary entered with a scrap of paper that most clearly now held my schedule.

"I bid you a pleasant morning, Miss Luna. I am Stefanny, a former secretary to Sir Salander. I'm delighted to work under your care."

I simply nodded in agreement with what she stated, and she proceeded with me. When she brought me the sheet, I confirmed that she had scheduled them correctly.

"Your schedule for today, Miss Luna, has already begun. Everyone is already waiting in the conference room."

I swiftly released my grasp and fixed my attention on her. "Mark made no mention of a meeting today. I assumed I would only observe."

Stefanny bowed in response to my emotion, and as a result, I rapidly calmed down and sighed.

"All right, inform them that I'm on my way."
