Chapter 37: Chapter 37
After the insane encounter with Mr. Adam, I headed back home.
The Grim brothers weren’t home, which was a good thing.
I still don’t know how to face Sir Lanceil after catching him m*sturbating while calling my name, and after I did the same, which brought me shame.
‘I am really attracted to him, emotionally and physically.’
On the other hand, dealing with the weird Vincent is another thing. He was having fun teasing me before, but now, he looks like he was avoiding me.
‘I am thankful he does.’
Then, there was also Mr. Brett who kept bugging in my head. Let’s add my best friend Sebastian who will attend the same review center starting tonight.
And last, Mr. Adam.
I looked at the shoes he lent to me.
“What was that childish kiss for?”
It’s best to ignore that.
Come to think of it.
I was surrounded by men who gave nothing but trouble.
“I miss hanging out with my girlfriends.”
On second thought, I don’t have GIRL-FRIENDS.
They all left me after I lost my wealth. The only friend who stayed by my side was Sebastian.
I hid Adam’s shoes beneath my bed and heaved a sigh.
“That’s right. For now, let’s just think of having a fun time with Sebastian.”
And so, after I finished all my household chores, I went to the review center and met my best friend.
“Agatha! Here!”
Tonight, Sebastian was wearing a gray hoodie and round glasses. He looked smart in those.
“Your early,” I said.
“Because I was so excited to study with you,” Sebastian said with a shy smile.
Sebastian has curly brown hair and a pair of green eyes. Many of my friends asked me to hook them up with my rich and handsome best friend. None of them felt jealous that I was hanging out with Sebastian because at that time, I was dating Mikhail.
In short, Sebastian still looks handsome as ever. I am proud of him as his best friend.
“Let’s go inside?” Sebastian asked, offering his hand.
“There’s no need to hold hands, kiddo,” I said and entered the center first.
“You are so cold, Agatha,” he whimpered like a puppy.
The two of us entered the center and saw the students reviewing on their own. There are specific times for sessions with hired professors, but tonight there was no session. All should study alone.
“Agatha.”
“What?”
“I need to go and get my ID first. Secure us seats, okay?”
“Aye aye, captain. Go away.”
I shooed Sebastian away, and he left my side while chuckling.
Just like what he asked, I tried to secure two seats. But the center was crowded, and it was hella difficult to find two seats next to each other.
Fortunately, I found two.
Holding my books and notes, I hurried and occupied the seats.
I placed one book on the seat next to me, so I can reserve one for my best friend.
‘Seat checked. Now, I should focus on my studies.’
I opened the book in front of me and brought up my pen. But my pen slipped from my hand and rolled forward.
It landed next to the book that the person sitting in front of me was reading. Naturally, my eyes went to the man sitting across my seat.
It did not take me long to feel stomach ache and heartburn as I recognized him.
It was Mikhail, my ex-fiance.
‘Why is he here again? I thought he left this center after we met before?’
“OMG. Are you Agatha and Mikhail?”
Bad things after bad things.
A group of female students, who used to be my “friends” in college, saw Mikhail and I together.
F*ck it.
“I thought you guys broke up. Are you dating again?” Isabella, the attention-seeker in the group, asked.
Mikhail was too stunned to reply, so I did the job.
“No,” I said. “Mikhail and I aren’t dating. NEVER.”
“Ohh, sorry,” Isabelle apologized while LAUGHING.
“So, why are you two together?” Jacky, the gossiper of the group, tried to get some Intel.
“Believe it or not, this is just a coincidence,” I said.
“Coincidence?” Karryle, the ‘I don’t know what her role is’ in the group, asked. “I would rather call this destiny. Right guys?”
The three of them laughed together, even though there was nothing funny in this situation.
‘I badly wanted to go home.’
“Are you Agatha’s friends in college?”
Thanks to Mikhail’s question, the three bitches stopped laughing.
“Well, we were,” Isabella answered.
“We met before, dude,” Jacky said.
Karylle agreed, “Yeah, yeah. That’s right.”
“If you are really her friends, I don’t think you should laugh right now,” Mikhail said with a serious gaze. “Because you are making everything awkward between us.”
There was an impending silence that swept the space.
“Can you just go away and stop f*cking us?” Mikhail dropped another cold remark.
The three girls scoffed as they glared at my ex-fiance.
“What the hell, Mikhail,” Isabella uttered. “Why are you speaking as if you were a kind of saint or something? We’re just the same.”
“Didn’t you break up with Agatha because she, you know, went bankrupt and all stuff?” Jacky added.
“Yeah. Stop being a kind d*ck,” Karryle said.
Hearing facts, I curled my hands into mitts.
They are right.
Mikhail has no rights to defend me from these b*tches. He had done worse than they did.
Humiliated, I picked up my books in a hurry.
‘I don’t want to hear any reply from Mikhail.’
“Agatha. Let’s leave.”
A warm hand held my wrist. With teary eyes, I looked up and saw my best friend, Sebastian.
‘Did he see everything?’
“Sh*t. Sebastian!” Isabella called.
I lowered my head so I didn’t see how Sebastian reacted when Isabella called him.
“You are still hanging out with Agatha?!” Isabella asked.
“This is the plot twist,” Karryle said, chuckling.
“Now that Agatha broke up with Mikhail, she’s dating her rich boyfriend. What a whore,” Isabella added.
One more word, I will pull her hair out. I was only restraining myself because I can’t give up this review center. It was my only chance!
“Shut your f*cking mouth, Isabella,” Sebastian, who only said nice things, cursed openly.
I felt the stares piercing toward us.
“So, you’re not denying it?” Isabella rebuked.
Scowling, I looked up at Sebastian while waiting for him to deny it.
‘Sebastian. Tell them we’re not dating. Please!’
However, Sebastian only picked up my books and pulled me up.
“Let’s not waste time dealing with these stupid people,” Sebastian mumbled before he tried to pull me away.
But Mikhail held my other hand.
Both Sebastian and I looked back to my ex-fiance.
“Agatha, is that true? You’re dating Sebastian?” Mikhail asked.
The question didn’t affect me that much. But his face did the job. Right now, he looked so much in pain after speculating that I am dating someone.
Hypocrite.
“Tell me. Are you dating Sebastian?” Mikhail demanded.
I, who remained quiet and collected for a long time, stared at him, and replied, “Whomever I date, it’s none of your business, assh*le.”
I shook his hand off and walked out of the review center with Sebastian.
