Chapter 31: Chapter 31
“Finally. I met you,” Agatha said to Brett, who appeared after ruining her date with Lanceil in the orphanage.
“Did you miss me so bad?” Brett asked, laughing.
Agatha rolled her eyes.
It’s not that she missed him. She was annoyed that Brett didn’t explain anything to her after he suddenly appeared in the orphanage.
“We have a lot to talk, Master,” Agatha said.
“Save it later. It’s holiday.”
“What?”
Agatha knows that today is a holiday. But wasn’t Brett interested in hearing reports about her mission?
‘He looks so desperate when he came to the orphanage!’ Agatha complained in her head.
“Didn’t you call me to hear my reports?”
“I will hear that later. For now, I am giving you a day off.”
“Which part of this is my day off?” she said, raising one of her brows.
“Because we’re going out to relax!” He announced, opening his arms widely.
Agatha blinked apathetically, which, entertained Brett even more. He must be having so much fun annoying her and seeing her bored face right after.
“Let’s have some fun today,” Brett said. “Aren’t I a good master? I treat my slave way better than anyone else.”
A master who’s asking a young lady to seduce a man and to meet him when she just wanted to rest inside her room all day?
Agatha decided not to believe anything that would come out and would come out of Brett’s lips. She considers him the boss of the villains.
Brett and Agatha sat in the back seat of the car while his secretary perched on the driver’s seat.
“Where are we going, Sir?” the secretary asked.
Curious, Agatha also looked at Brett.
“I haven’t decided about that,” Brett murmured. He tilted his head in wonder and stared at Agatha. “Where do you want to go?”
“I?” Agatha asked, pointing at herself.
“Yes. We will go wherever you want.”
Agatha thinly narrowed her eyes.
‘Why is he so kind today?’ She was suspicious.
“Hey. Speak. I am asking you.”
“I have… no idea,” she said, avoiding his gaze.
“Then, I will think of a place. What about going to visit a large aquarium?”
Agatha’s eyes widened.
Was it just a coincidence?
Agatha has loved going to the aquarium ever since she was a kid. She was surprised that Brett suggested something she would really love to do.
“You don’t like aquariums?” Brett uttered, “Then…”
“No,” Agatha shyly mumbled. “Let’s go there. T-To a-aquarium.”

Brett and Agatha went to the huge public aquarium, an aquatic counterpart of a zoo, which houses living aquatic animal and plant specimens for public viewing.
As they entered, Agatha saw the large tanks on each wall.
She gasped silently while looking around. Her heart goes restless, wandering around the huge space.
Right now, the tough Agatha, looks like a kid who was taken out by her parents for the first time.
She stood at near the huge glass and for a moment, she forgot everything.
When Agatha stared at the wide gigantic blue ocean, she felt calm, quiet, reflective, and strong. It was as if after episodes of emotional outbreaks, she was given a room where she can return to normal.
But the color of the ocean wasn’t the only thing that gives her the serenity she needs. The fishes which were swimming freely around the wide coast gave her a sense of satisfaction.
Agatha raised her hand and touched the glass.
Brett stood beside her and noted the expression on her face. He saw her beautiful amazement, so genuine yet there was a sadness to it.
“Did you enjoy looking at the fish?” Brett asked.
Agatha nodded her head. “They are quite amazing.”
“Really?”
Brett looked at the fishes and colorful coral reefs inside the large tanks. He was having fun looking at him. But Brett enjoyed this for another reason.
Slowly, Brett stared at Agatha.
He didn’t know when it started, that Agatha became a blue ocean in his eyes. When he was with her, he felt happy and calm.
He’s having fun teasing her, and when they were being intimate with each other.
’Being with her, for a moment, was like running away from reality. I forget my worries, the goal that I set, and the revengeful emotions I have.’
Brett only realized this during his visit to the orphanage.
He really came there to help Agatha in her mission. Yet…
[“I am sorry. But no one is allowed to steal my maid without my permission.”]
When Lanceil took Agatha away, Brett’s heart ached.
Agatha was just a pawn. A strong pawn. Every time Brett saw her clinging to her life, he was amazed at her.
And as time passed by, he was getting territorial, which doesn’t make sense because he needs Agatha to lure Lanceil into his plan.
Trying to clear what was bugging his heart, Brett went closer to Agatha and asked her a question.
“What makes you think that the fishes are amazing?”
“They are inside the tanks. But when they swim, they look as freely as ever.”
Free. At the word, Brett understood her intention.
Agatha must be jealous while looking at the creatures who can freely swim as if they didn’t know their real situation, that they are only inside a huge tank made by humans.
Brett’s fingers flinched. He felt mad at himself for thinking that he was having fun with someone whom he bought to get his revenge. He was the one who put the chain on her, so he can’t talk more about the freedom that she was seeking.
“Then do you want to be a fish?” he asked again.
Agatha lifted her head to look at him. Their gazes met.
“If you became a fish…” Brett started.
Agatha guessed, “…you’ll let me swim freely?”
“No. I will eat you.”
They blinked in unison.
There was a long silence between them before Agatha opened her lips.
“I’m hungry. Let’s eat.
