Chapter 17: Chapter 17
Agatha attended the review session. But even if the review ended, she wanted to stay there a little bit longer.
Tonight, Lanceil went back home after his business trip. After what happened between Agatha and Vincent, she just couldn’t go back home and meet her boss.
‘Vincent probably noticed my feelings,’ Agatha cursed inwardly.
Of course, it is impossible to avoid the two brothers forever.
“I have so many people I wanted to avoid,” Agatha uttered as she looked around the review center.
Mikhail didn’t appear in the review center ever since they met accidentally. Agatha was thankful that Mikhail wasn’t tactless enough to review her together with Agatha.
Ting!
Agatha looked at her phone and checked who sent a message.
[“You are in the review center, right? Come out. There’s something I need to give.” – Evil Master]
When she walked out, she was surprised to see that it was raining heavily.
“Did I bring an umbrella?”
She looked inside her leather bag. Unfortunately, she forgot to bring one.
Agatha looked at North. Then, the wind blew from that direction. The air humid gave a sticky feeling to her skin.
Some say they love the rain because it has a romantic feeling to it. But for Agatha, she has no time to consider it in that way.
“Romantic my ass. They didn’t know how hard it is to wash clothes. Even drying my hair became a job,” she complained before she clicked her tongue.
Since she saw no sign that the rain would stop soon, Agatha decided to accept, getting drenched.
She put her leather bag overhead and was about to step out of the shade. However, she saw a man’s silhouette going in her direction. Agatha waited until the man’s face became visible.
“Mr. Brett,” Agatha called.
“I knew it. You didn’t bring an umbrella, tsk tsk tsk,” Brett said, clicking his tongue.
Agatha looked around. Even though no one knew her in that place, she isn’t comfortable meeting Brett in front of her review center.
“You said you are going to give me something. Give it to me now,” Agatha said, reaching out her hand.
“I left it in my car.”
“What?”
“Let’s go there,” Brett said. He turned around against Agatha and walked away.
Agatha’s eyes widened at the sight of his back which is slowly fading.
"W-Wait! I don't have my umbrella!" she shouted.
Brett stopped. He partly tilted his head to look at her dumbfounded expression.
“So?” Brett asked.
“Didn’t you come here so you can share yours?”
Brett laughed.
“No,” he answered. “I only came to see what took you so long. But I don’t want to share my umbrella. This is already small for me, and I don’t want to get wet.”
Receiving such treatment, Agatha’s mouth went open.
“Besides, you probably forgot our position,” Brett added. “I am the master. You are a slave. It’s not the master’s job to keep you out of the rain.”
Chuckling, Brett turned around and walked. He only needed one thing from Agatha. He wanted her to beg him to share his umbrella.
He was being childish, and Brett knew that. But whenever he’s with Agatha, he couldn’t help but tease her.
Will Agatha beg Brett to share his umbrella?
Gritting her teeth, Agatha put her bag overhead and dashed forward.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
The sounds of her footsteps under the pool of rain went louder behind Brett.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
When Brett turned, he saw Agatha running at full speed! She even overtook him!
Agatha looks like a running character in anime, with water splashes behind her back as she dashes away.
Brett blinked his eyes. After observing her comical state, he murmured, “So, she has pride. Well, even if she arrived there first, she can’t go inside because the car is locked.” Then he continued his slow pace.
Brett expected to see Agatha waiting outside, drenched, and irritated.
But when he arrived at the parking lot, he saw a woman holding a huge green leaf. A minute ago, Agatha saw a baggy vine and used it as her DIY umbrella.
Brett was shocked. He never expected that.
“Mr. Brett! I am here!” Agatha called, waving her hand. Because of the rain, Agatha thought Brett didn’t see her because he hadn’t been moving for a long time.
So, she kept on waving her hand to Brett.
“Mr. Brett!”
Suddenly, Brett burst out laughing.
“Pfff…!”
A frown formed between Agatha’s brows when he heard Brett laughing at her. She endured his heartless treatment a moment ago, but she couldn’t believe he’d dare laugh at her state.
“This bast..” she was about to curse at him.
However, Brett’s triumph didn't last long when a motorcycle dashed beside him, making a huge wave of water from the ground, splashed right into his face!
‘Kssshssssk!’
“…”
“…”
He doesn't want to get wet but what just happened was the worst.
‘Karma must be real,’ Agatha thought.
Agatha gasped in shock as she watched Brett wipe his face with his trembling hands and spit out the muddy water from his mouth.
After some minutes, the two hopped inside the car – Agatha in the passenger seat while Brett on the driver’s seat.
“I need to change my clothes so let’s go to my hotel first,” Brett said in serious tone.
Agatha knew he was pissed off.
And because she didn’t want Brett to vent his anger to her, Agatha agreed, “Okay.”
“Let’s talk once we arrived there.”
“Y-Yes.”
"Seatbelt.”
Quickly, Agatha put her seatbelt on.
Silence sings loudly in between. Brett started the engine and stepped on the accelerator.
He pondered a lot about how it became possible for Agatha to stay silent after she witnessed such a hilarious and embarrassing scene a moment ago.
But as soon as Agatha looked outside the window, she laughed so hard without any sound.
Brett on the other side noticed it because her shoulder was moving up and down hysterically. He tilted his head back to the road.
Then a sweet smile drew on his face.
