Chapter 86: Chapter 86

“I know my husband more than anyone else. So don’t fret me with your lies.” I raised my brows and smirked, ignoring Maezy afterward.

“I hope you won’t come begging at me in the future for some evidence,” she replied, giving me a leering look. She then slammed the door shut, and I felt my eardrums bursting afterward.

Worse than the stressful incidents I had been through, this revelation about Zed bothered me more. I could never accept that the kindness and thoughtfulness of Zed had some darkness behind it. It hurt me even deeper to know that his major flaw was not only his sexual incapabilities for having Erectile Dysfunction Syndrome, but also for being the mastermind of my emotional turmoil.

I hurried to leave Ara's house and went directly to the hospital to bring some things she might need. But because she was asleep when I arrived, I did not disturb her anymore. I just touched her forehead, and seeing that she’s afebrile already, I went out to the hospital’s lobby.

“What causes Maezy’s outburst?” I roared at Kim as soon as he picked up my call. I was standing somewhere far away from people who may overhear me.

“What’s wrong?” he asked as if he had no idea about Maezy’s sour mood.

“Why did she come barging in and tell me a lot of nonsense?”

“For example?”

“Oh, no. Never mind.” I was so frustrated. I knew he understood what I meant but was just reluctant to talk about it.

“Okay, okay. I brought those suitcases to the house. I think that was enough to tell them I already knew about their betrayal. I also showed them that video I took when they were island hopping. Why do you ask? Did she confront you?"

Of course, I remembered that video. It was my first day at work, but Kim brought me instead for a trip to a beach in the north. And while he oriented me to some basic stuff in the company and the scope of my job, he also did a mission. And that was to document Maezy and Tim’s betrayal.

I already understand why Kim seemed so relax despite seeing them making out and having sex, and it was because their relationship was loveless. And because he needed to go to this extent to prove her betrayal, I understood that Maezy was not that easy to get away from.

“And what did she say?” I asked, imagining Maezy’s voice thundering all over their place.

“Come back to Ara's room,” Kim said, and just as I suspected, he was there standing outside the door to Ara’s room, waiting for me.

I walked past him and opened the door to check on Ara. But there she was, still in a deep sleep. I could even hear her loud snoring from the door frame. Beside her was a large bouquet, and I knew right then that it was from Kim.

“Let her rest,” Kim said above my head. I didn’t notice him following me because the bouquet caught my attention. “Let’s take a walk outside.”

I was already exhausted, but because I had a troubled mind, I agreed. But instead of leading me to a garden or a park somewhere, Kim took me to a hotel across from the hospital.

“I know you need rest. Just leave Ara a message that if she needs something, you’re just around.”

Although I got reluctant because I knew what would happen every time we were alone in a room, I also craved to rest my back on a bed. It had been a long day, adding to the fatigue a pregnant woman suffers.

“Okay, as long as you won’t take long.” I glanced at him, and I noticed his expression turning sour, but he said nothing until we were inside an elevator.

“Move here,” Kim’s voice jolted me away from the thoughts that were running in my head. I looked up and saw a young man entering the elevator. He looked familiar.

“Hello, Miss Yen. Coming after Mr. Zed?”

Before I could find some words to answer, he added, and his eyes were on Kim, “He’s on the stage already. Shall I tell him you’re here?”

“No need. I’ll wait for him until he’s ready to leave.”

“Okay, Miss Yen.” The bell sounded, and the man smiled at me before he stepped out of the elevator.

Damn. That man was his coffee shop manager!

“He won’t find out,” Kim said, pulling me to him. “I booked the room under your name. You may stay here until Ara is well. I know you’re inseparable, but you can’t stay with her during the night. The nurses go in and out, disturbing your rest. Anyway, this building is just a few meters away.”

I sighed. These men in my life always do things without my permission. I already wondered if this was still love because I already thought this was a competition.

“You may take a shower and change,” Kim told me the moment we stepped inside the room. But my eyes fell on the huge bed, inviting me to dive on it right away.

“But my clothes are in Ara’s room,” I argued, finding some excuse to go back to the hospital. I was already nervous, knowing that Kim and I were in the same building with Zed.

“I brought a few pairs of comfortable, cotton dresses.”

I pulled my brows together and looked at him, wondering how easy it was for him to buy things for me. Then, perhaps reading my thoughts, he smiled and said, “Kath’s clothing company also has a branch here in the city. So, I asked her to send in a few pairs for you.”

Oh, Kath, the stylist who dressed Trish and me in Japan. And the first one who gave me clues about Maezy’s involvement in my misfortune.

“That’s wonderful,” I said, placing my bag on the couch before I sauntered to the bathroom.

And as I started to run a soapy sponge on my body, Kim suddenly hugged me from behind. I didn’t notice that he followed me right away. I continued rubbing the sponge, but Kim started to run his lips on my nape while his hands crawled over my breasts.
