Chapter 111: Chapter 111

KRISTEN

"Are you still mad at me?"

"Leave me alone," she murmured. Her back was turned to me, the scent of her soap filling my nostrils and travelling into my head. "I need to sleep."

"What can I do to appease you?" I grinned, stylishly scooting over to touch her.

"Go to Edith."

"Will that appease you?" I teased.

"Kristen, are you serious right now?" she asked, feigned surprise creeping into her voice.

I began to laugh. As much as she tried, she couldn't hold it. Seconds later, she started laughing too.

I settled behind her like a wall, using her as my cute little spoon. Her body felt warm, more mature. She was growing, and not only mentally and emotionally. From what I could feel, her arse was getting more round and supple.

"I'm sorry okay? I never meant for you to see that. But I promise, it will be the last." I leaned down to kiss her exposed neck.

"Kristen?"

"Hmm?" I murmured behind her ear. "What's wrong?"

"You are hard," she abruptly stated, completely off-topic, sending me into momentary confusion. "Kristen, you are hard. I can feel it."

"Oh."

Oh! Didn't realize that was what she was talking about.

Now she made mention of it, I could feel my dick poking her arse.

"Before you ask, no. I'm not letting you have a taste."

I murmured in dissatisfaction. "Just one round, please."

"No. That would be your punishment for letting that whore touch you inappropriately."

I didn't want her to get irked again, so I quickly changed the topic.

"I will gladly bear the punishment, darling. Have you heard from your dad?"

"Yes. I even fixed the dinner for tomorrow." She paused and turned to me, our faces inches apart. "Wait, didn't I tell you?"

"No. You didn't."

"Oh, it must have slipped my mind."

"It's okay," I smiled and caressed her cheek. "It's not like it's too late to tell me now. How is he?"

"Eager to see you."

That wasn't what I asked, and June knew that, but she must always have her way.

All this while, I've not been happy with Henry and she knows it. And she has been sincerely trying to make me understand how honoured he would be to see me.

"Well, we will see tomorrow," I said.

She leaned forward and pecked me on my lips. "Yes, we will. We should sleep now."

*. *. *. *.*

I've never seen June so busy in my entire life.

She got up very early the following morning and started a very unnecessary house cleanup. I woke up to see her working tirelessly.

Throughout my stay at work, I tried my best to avoid Edith.

Funny, right?

I will have to find a way to get things straight with her, sooner than later.

Whenever I called her to know if her dad would still be present, she was either frying or dicing something.

I left the office late in the afternoon and rushed home—without Edith, of course.

From the sidewalk, I knew something changed in the house.

There was this festive feeling hanging in the air. And even though there wasn't anything out of the ordinary, I could feel the warmth and happiness in the air.

When I stepped in and saw how neat the entire place was, I realized that June was out for business. She wasn't joking about the entire dad stuff.

"Kristen, is that you?!" she called out from the kitchen.

"Yes, baby." I stopped in the kitchen doorway. "Jesus, baby, are you still cooking?"

"Yes, and I will take pride in the fact that I prepared the meals myself," she smiled at me, dropped the spoon in her grasp and opened her arms for a hug...

I ran into her stress-relieving arms.

*. *. *. *.*

We were in the sitting room when a knock jolted June to her feet.

"I'm coming!" she called out and ran to the door. I also got up, my heart instinctively beating fast.

"Hey, June!" I heard an excited female voice ring out like an alarm.

That must be Favour, Henry's wife.

Before I got to the door, I tried to picture what Henry would look like. He was the main reason I agreed to this anyway.

A man stepped in. Our eyes clashed. My jaw touched the floor.

June was still clinging to Favour. One would think they have known each other for years.

Henry looked better than I expected. And that wasn't the cause of my surprise.

Henry was the male version of June!

He had long and very dark hair and his captivating eyes were brown and expressive—just like hers!!!

Facial structure, lashes, brows, and his aura didn't leave any room for doubt.

"This is Favour," June excitedly said, pointing to the merry woman beside her. "And that is Henry... my dad."

"Hi," I said to Favour, reaching forward to politely peck both of her cheeks. "I've heard a lot about you."

"I just hope they were nice things," she beamed and winked at June.

"Oh, trust me. June hasn't been able to stop talking about you."

And now, I could see why. How could you not talk about someone this merry? She literally permeated peace and happiness.

Turning to Henry, I nodded. "And you must be Henry."

"Yes, I am." He didn't extend his arm for a handshake like I expected. He couldn't keep eye contact with me for more than five seconds without looking at his wife or June. "And you must be Kristen. June has told me a lot about you."

"Did she tell you how fatherless she has been all these long years?"

"Kristen..." June called out in warning. I don't know what crossed her mind that made her step between us. Did she think I was going to punch him? Well, I could do that.

"I know I messed up, but I have an explanation," Henry said.

The flame inside me turned down the moment I saw him tearing up. Fuck! He has June's eyes, and just like I can't stand seeing June cry, it would be devastating to get bothered by the tears of a stranger. "I promise to explain everything." He quickly wiped his eyes.

"Kristen, let them in," June said. She was almost begging now.

"Come in," I said, already feeling like letting the tears out. It would be a long night...
