Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Acwell had to wait for hours before Kamiah responded to his message. But she did, and she gave her address.

"Yes! Gotcha!" Acwell exclaimed out of happiness.

Kamiah and Kai went to LA. It's too far that he cannot just go to them right away. But at least he knows where to find them. The next step he has to do is get a flight ticket, a hotel and process his resignation. He doesn't care if he will end up jobless for a while for as long as he will be with his family.

He tried asking how are they. All Kamiah does is send him pictures and videos of his son. The very first video brought tears to his eyes.

"I missed you, my little boy. Daddy will see you soon," he whispered and sobbed.

Acwell tried to call Kamiah, but she won't answer. It is most likely that she is still upset with him. He sent her a message, but she did not reply. Kamiah is not in the mood to talk to him, which was painful because he missed her. But he understood it, and he didn't want to force her. At least she sent videos of his son.

He could not sleep that night. Kamiah had been on his mind, and the thought of her having someone else made him feel scared.

"What if she had found someone new? What will I do?" he asked himself.

"Don't be so pessimistic, Acwell. And even if she does, at least I would see and be with my son."

Acwell handed his resignation letter the next day he got a hint from Camila. He wants to be able to fly right away the moment he gets his flight tickets. And he was lucky that after two days, his friend was able to book his flight for him.

He booked the cheapest hotel that is near the apartment where Kamiah is staying. Acwell even sends his resumes to nearby hotels though he is not expecting him to get hired. If he is lucky, he doesn't have to go through a hard time looking for a job.

Acwell did an immediate resignation, so after a few days, all his documents would be ready. He even informed his landlord that he would vacate the apartment and already sold some of the furniture he owned.

He was packing some of his clothes when he thought of Amara.

"I will be away from her once again. But it's better that way," he said softly.

Catrina had kept sending him messages. Sometimes she would call him, but he refused to answer. Acwell doesn't want them to argue once again. He decided to talk to her a day before he flew to LA.

Acwell agreed to meet Catrina after he had packed his bags. He went to her apartment almost 06:00 PM. Catrina opened the door with a big smile.

"I am so happy that you have come back for Amara," Catrina said.

"Yes, it is because of her that I came here. Can I play with her first, and we will talk later?" Acwell replied.

"Sure, Acwell."

Acwell walked towards Amara, who was sitting on the floor in the living room playing with her bear stuff toy.

"Hello, princess!" Acwell said with a smile.

"Daddy, daddy," Amara said while clapping her hands.

They played and watched cartoons. Catrina did not interrupt them. Instead, she prepared dinner.

An hour after they had dinner, Amara fell asleep in Acwell's arms. He put her to bed, kissed her, and whispered, "I will miss you, my princess. I hope to see you someday." A tear fell from his eyes. He wiped it without letting Catrina see him crying.

When Acwell turned to walked to the door, he found Catrina standing there.

"Did you miss her?" she asked.

"I will always miss my daughter," Acwell replied coldly.

Catrina smiled and said, "What is it that you want to talk about?"

"Let's sit at the dining room."

They sat silent and staring each other for a minute.

Acwell breaks the silence by saying, "I am living Dubai tomorrow."

"Ha? Are you going for a vacation?" Catrina asked, confused.

"No. I am living for good."

"What? Why?"

"I found where my family is, and I want to go there."

"Did your ex-wife asked you to follow her and leave your daughter here?"

"No. I have been trying to find them, so I will go there. I don't need Kamiah's invitation."

"But Acwell, what about Amara? She just got to know you, and you will walk away from her again."

"Catrina, it would not have to be this way had you not pushed Kamiah to leave. And didn't I tell you if there is even a little chance that I would be able to be with her and my son, I will take it without hesitation?"

"You are so unfair and cruel, Acwell!"

Acwell closed his eyes before he blasted, "I have enough of your blame. You can call me that for as long as you want. But God knows how much I tried to be there and provide for my daughter."

Catrina started sobbing.

"Catrina, I am very sorry for turning you into a single mom. I know how hard it is. A single mother raised me. But I have also learned from my mother that you also have to accept that relationship could sometimes not work. No matter how much you try to, it is bound to end one day."

"You did not even try."

"I did, Catrina. And our relationship never works. I am sorry that I caused you pain. I hope one day you will see and understand that there is somebody else for us. And I pray that the man meant for you would show up to you soon for you to know why our relationship did not work. I hate the fact that you blame me, but at some point, I also understood it."

"I will not let you see, Amara!"

"I do want to see her grow. But if it takes us to cut ties for our peace and for you to heal, then okay. The only thing I would request from you is to tell her I love her. I would always will. And that I tried to be there for her."

"I don't think I could do that."

"I know right now you can't, but I hope one day you will. Take care. Goodbye, Catrina."

Acwell stood and went to Amara's room. He kissed her on the forehead for the last time and left.
