Chapter 728: Chapter 728
**Chapter 330: Professional (Part 2)**
Alma glared at Mira, as if telling her to stop giving her false hope like that. Meanwhile Mira recoiled and looked away awkwardly, as she had only been trying to show off the fact she knew such a spell.
At the same time, Mira was not the kind of person to apologize and give up.
“No…that’s not it… I mean, she might not be back home, but there’s a way to contact her. You know her, I’m sure she’ll be more than willing to help once she hears our situation!”
They needed Kagura’s help to obtain information necessary to destroy the evil organization Ira Muerte.
Kagura had already been fighting a similar organization in the past when taking down Chimera Clauzen, so she would fully understand Alma’s situation.
On top of that, Kagura also had the unique ability of switching places with one of her shikigami. So there was little stopping her from flying over as soon as she was contacted.
Mira spoke with conviction, fully aware of all that, but Alma looked at her half hopeful and half doubtful.
“So, how do we contact her then?!”
“Ummm, I mean, about that…”
Mira desperately tried to think of a solution, her eyes swimming around nervously as she thought, eventually catching a glimpse of the blue sky.
She was already starting to have strange delusions, thinking that maybe Piisuke would randomly fly in, and then she had an actual idea.
Even if she could not contact Kagura directly, she still had associates.
The Fifty Bells’ headquarters, to be more specific.
Alioth had been put in charge of the Fifty Bells after they got rid of Chimera Clauzen’s remnants, but Kagura was still their leader.
They had to still be in contact, even while Kagura went to check on the coffins.
So if Mira and Alma got in contact with the headquarters, they would pass on the message to Kagura.
And knowing Kagura, as soon as she received the message, she would send Piisuke to visit.
The rest was easy. Kagura would switch places with Piisuke, use her interrogation spell, and all of Jorg’s secrets would be revealed.
Contacting the headquarters was also easy. After all, Mira had the number to call, and she had a device to make the call in her wagon.
“Heheh, just listen closely!”
Mira haughtily raised her voice and reached into her pocket…wanting to bring out the note with the Fifty Bells’ headquarters number…
But it was missing, her Item Box did not have it either, and even as she emptied her bag with all her research notes she was unable to find it.
“What’s wrong, Grandpa? Hurry up already!”
Alma was still full of hope, while Mira’s cockiness turned to desperation.
She checked every single pocket she had, and as a last recourse attempted to recall the numbers, but with her memory, that was like trying to make out a distant sign in a foggy day.
“…Ah!” and then Mira realized her own folly. Read full story at novęlfire.net
The last time she had seen that piece of paper was back when she found Lastrada and Artesia, as they wanted to borrow the spirit flying ship to carry the hundred children in their orphanage.
As far as she remembered, she placed that note in a pocket of her clothes after that.
And the outfit she was wearing at the time was her custom Magic Robe Set for summer.
She was currently wearing the autumn set.
In other words, she had left the note in her previous clothes back home.
(…Oh right, I think Mariana mentioned something about putting everything from my pockets on my desk…)
Mira had put those clothes aside to be washed, and she faintly remembered what happened around that time, putting her in more distress. She pressed her lips together, desperately trying to think of an excuse…or rather a solution.
“It couldn’t be that you’ve forgotten yet another thing, could it?”
Alma was starting to get suspicious, especially after Mira put on airs so much.
“N-No, that’s definitely not it.”
Mira laughed awkwardly, trying to play things off, internally pivoting to her wagon and if she could find a solution there.
She had no choice but to abide her shame and call the Tower of Summoning and tell Mariana or Creos to find the note for her.
And then she realized that after a month of constant research and experiments, she had no idea where on her desk that note could be.
It was so cluttered with random books and pieces of paper that she could not even begin to describe where it was.
(Hmmm…how do I contact the headquarters… Hm? If they’re headquarters..!)
Every time she thought of a solution she ran into another wall, until she eventually returned to more realistic ideas.
There was another way of getting in contact with the Fifty Bells’ headquarters.
“Umm…*Ahem*, just out of curiosity, have you heard of an organization called the Fifty Bells?”
Mira decided to ask that, really not wanting to admit that she had just been putting on airs.
The Fifty Bells was the organization Kagura had established to take down Chimera Clauzen. But that was kept secret, and openly they declared to be an environmentalist organization that wanted to preserve forests for spirits to live in.
“Yup, I’ve heard of them. They’re the guys taking care of forests and stuff, right? I heard they’ve been campaigning a lot more recently, something about expanding the eastern forest by 2% or something like that.”
Alma barely had to think about it, instantly knowing who they were. They were active across the whole continent, so almost everyone had heard their name.
And since they had accomplished their main goal of taking down Chimera Clauzen, they had a lot more time for their outward presence, explaining their recent rise in activity. All the people and resources once used to fight were being used for the forests’ sake.
They also seemed to be active in Nirvana, judging from Alma’s reaction. That made it easier to narrow down what Mira wanted to know.
“Then I’m guessing they also have a branch in this country, do you know in which city it is?”
That was the solution Mira had thought of. Finding the closest branch of the Fifty Bells.
Kagura had mentioned they had such branches in various countries, and all of them had the means to communicate with the headquarters.
If she could not use her wagon to call the headquarters, she could just do it through a branch.
She had almost lost it when she realized the note was gone, but a branch would be her salvation. And she happened to be in a big and influential country.
There had to be a branch there, so she put all her hope on that and waited for Alma’s answer.
