Chapter 712: Chapter 712

As everything had been done through partial summoning, it did not cost too much mana to use that large attack. A hundred partially summoned weapons cost the same as ten Dark Knights, which was roughly 3% of Mira’s mana pool. Being able to impress Meilin with such a small cost told Mira her experiment had been a big success.

That put her in a good mood, and she happily jumped off the roof to stand in front of Meilin again.

“Are you sure you want to be down here? I’m really tough at close range right now.”

Meilin warned her, or rather made sure she wanted to do that. She was hinting at the fact that **Sage Fortitude Art: Mountain** was still active, making her a much harder foe to fight from close range.

Meanwhile, her ability to deal with ranged opponents was weaker, as she no longer could rely on Ground Shrink or use shockwaves from Heaven Sage Arts.

But Mira ditched her advantage by moving closer, saying, “That’s exactly why I’m coming here.”

That was the perfect chance for Mira to test something of her own. If she could handle Meilin in this state, then she would have no trouble fighting high level magic beasts too. So she really wanted to try out her new abilities.

“Let’s see how you one next!”

Mira’s body was enveloped in light as she activated the spell, while Meilin watched attentively with much curiosity.

By combining the Holy and Dark Knight Frames, they evolved into the Ashen Knight Frame. And Mira had pushed things even further from that.

Through her research, she had found that the Ashen Knight Frame in theory reacted the same way as any Armor Spirit, and she used that knowledge to evolve her personal abilities even further.

By imbuing the Ashen Knight Frame with the Holy Sword Sanctia, she gained a power no other summoner could use.

**Armor Summoning – Equipment: Sacred Frame**

The light subsided to show Mira clad in a set of armor that gave off a divine shine. The lower half flared out like a skirt, her helmet was shaped like a tiara, and the chest plate was rather small, allowing for better agility.

At first glance, she was reminiscent of the Valkyries, but the shine of her armor was even more dazzling. If anything, that dress-shaped armor was befitting of the queen of Valhalla.

To top it all off, there were two glowing swords floating behind her.

They were both Sanctia, a special holy sword that usually could only be wielded by proficient swordsmen, but that Mira had made accessible to herself through her special summoning.

“I see, that’s what you meant! I feel a lot of power!”

Currently, Mira had become stronger than all the Armor Spirits she had summoned thus far, and Meilin understood why Mira had decided to jump off the roof. Even she believed Mira had evened the playing field, surpassing her expectations.

“Then I also won’t hold back!”

Shouting that, Meilin held her right hand back, gathering mana on it until it began glowing white.

(I’ve never seen her do that before…)

Mira watched warily, as she had never seen that pose or ability before, and all she could do was assume it was a close range attack considering Meilin’s current state.

(Well, I’ll just try hitting back and see what happens.)

At this point, the only way to know what it did was to experience it herself, despite it being a new special ability Meilin had come up with, meaning it was extremely powerful.

Mira adjusted her Frame’s balance to focus on defense and melded a sword of light in her right hand, a stance that would allow her to resist enemy attacks while unleashing a powerful counterattack.

The two grinned at each other before dashing forward, both of them leaving a bright white trail before they collided in the middle of the garden.

Their special attacks were unleashed at the same time, letting out a blinding flash followed by a deafening explosion. A gale of wind spread out, followed by a shockwave that made everything shake.

In the center of it all were Mira and Meilin, their arms locked in as they glared at each other.

“That’s an interesting ability, but I couldn’t help but notice that streak of light. What was that for?”

Mira had noticed a strange streak of light trailing into the air from Meilin’s fist, and asked about it with a curious voice as she pushed harder against her.

“That’s a secret. But I’m also curious, you’re only holding one sword. What would happen if you used both?”

Meilin refused to answer, and instead glanced briefly at the second sword floating behind Mira, also pushing back with more force.

If one sword had been enough to put them into an even deadlock, then what would happen if Mira used two? Just thinking of that possibility made Meilin shudder with excitement, but her expectations would be shot down.

“Using both? If I could do that, then I would’ve won. But sadly that’s still a work in progress.” Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn noⅴelfire.net

For now, that was only a possibility Mira had not unlocked yet. Mira had given it the temporary name of Light Sword Punch, the special ability of Sacred Frame, but it was still unfinished, and the most she could do was use one of her two swords for it.

“So in short you’re training too?”

“Well, basically yes.”

Research and training were not too different, so Mira nodded in agreement, something that pleased Meilin and filled her with a sense of kinship, as she happily began saying things like, “Yes, there’s nothing better than constant improvement!”

“Mhm… But moving on, shall we go for another bout? I’d love to test out the limits of wielding only one sword.”

Mira eased her arm and took a few steps back, equipping her unspent sword and switching her Frame balance to higher attack output, wanting to see how far she could take things.

“That sounds fun! Let’s do it!”

Meilin replied with a bright smile, jumping back and then taking a few more steps back, creating even more running distance than their previous clash, and then began charging her right hand with mana again.

Since Mira said she wanted to push things further, Meilin was also going to use more strength. But Mira could not sense any change in the amount of mana used, the only difference was the distance between the two.

(Hmm…does she get stronger the more she runs then?)

After evaluating Meilin’s actions, Mira also adjusted her next ability to match that, proportionally to the increase in running distance. Meilin’s ability seemed rather straightforward, but also made it more versatile.

Their eyes locked, they lowered their stance, about to charge at each other again.

“Miraaa, Meimeiii!! Stopppp! That’s enough, please stooooop!!”

But they were stopped by a loud shout, and then they saw Henry running out of the training building from earlier, his arms raised as he desperately put an end to the fight. “If you keep going you’ll really make her cry, so please stop,” he said, quickly glancing in another direction.

Mira and Meilin also looked there and saw her, a maid standing there.

They had been so engrossed in their fight that they had not seen her there, despite her presence the whole time. She was also wearing thick gloves and carried a shovel and a bucket, which likely meant she had been tending to the garden.

Without warning, the garden had suddenly become the main stage for a frightening fight, not even giving her a chance to escape.

And that was not even the worst part. When they got closer to her, they heard her stammering, “The garden…the garden…it’s…it’s…”

That prompted them to look at the state the garden was in. Which had gone from a tidy and pleasant place into a wartorn wilderness.
