Chapter 695: Chapter 695

Mira replied to Alma’s question as best as she could, also adding that there were around ten adults helping Artesia watch over the kids in her orphanage.

“Hmhm…so that’s all of them. I think a medium sized flying ship would be enough…”

One step after another, the plan was taking form. Alma even brought up flying ships without a second thought, a really expensive commodity that only a few countries could manage to own a single one. But Nirvana was far larger and powerful than most, and considering Alma could classify them in different sizes, she probably owned multiple of them.

(I was thinking of asking Kagura for help again if transport became an issue…but I guess I never had to worry about that…)

Mira was starting to feel vertigo at the staggering power of Nirvana and Alma, and decided to just watch and wait until the plan was complete.

Inviting an orphanage or two from another country to visit Nirvana seemed like a trivial matter for the empress of Nirvana. And what shocked Mira the most was that she was planning on paying for everything from her personal savings instead of her country’s funds.

“…There’s still an empty mansion in the clerical district, right? I guess they could stay there.”

“Yes, that place is still empty. And it should be big enough to house two hundred children.”

Esmeralda also offered some advice when necessary, and soon they were bringing up nine digit sums for the total cost of the trip, which did not seem to bother Alma in the least. By that point, it was Mira who began to feel nervous, as she had come up with the idea first.

It only took around ten minutes to wrap up their planning session. It was clear that both Alma and Esmeralda were keenly familiar with everything going around in Nirvana, a country they had been leading for more than thirty years, so it made sense they had the experience that went with that.

“Are you done now? Then can we move on so I can finally know why you invited me all the way here?”

While they were planning, Mira had been liberally reaching out for the tea and snacks on the table, and she was still eating as she spoke to the two. After all, initially she had been told that she would hear more about those assassins when she was led there.

“Ah, you’re right. Sorry for getting distracted.”

Alma looked at the notes she took, satisfied with her plan, and then quickly gave a fake cough to change topics.

“*Ahem*, well, actually I wanted to ask if you could watch over our Oracle.”

After sitting up straight, Alma made that request, which only confused Mira.

All she had heard so far was that the leader of those assassins had been a man called Jorg, who was part of some organization. She had been expecting to be told more about that organization, or maybe even tasked with bringing it down.

Instead, she was given the task of watching over someone. Amidst her confusion, she realized she had heard that word before.

The three assassins she had first encountered had also been targeting some Oracle, who they said could see the future in some way, and had ruined a lot of business deals for their organization.

“Would that happen to be…”

Recalling that, Mira went straight to the point as she asked in return, “…An Oracle that has the ability to see the future? And that’s who I have to protect?”

“Oh, so you already knew that much?”

“I heard those assassins talking about someone like that.”

Alma was a bit shocked to hear that much, and Mira added, “They kept crying about how they could not even find a shadow of the Oracle,” while chuckling about it.

“And that’s because we have her hidden really well.” Alma also grinned hearing that, proud of herself. As she explained, the existence of the Oracle was treated as top secret, with almost no one knowing about the matter.

“The only ones who know about the Oracle with those powers are a handful of my high ranking officers, and one other person. He Who Commands the Dark Routes, August Gradin.”

Her gaze became sharper as she spoke that name, becoming almost chilling. It was not out of disgust or hatred, but a strong enmity.

“He Who Commands the Dark Routes…? I’ve never heard of him. What kind of person is he?”

That was the first time Mira had heard that name. She could only assume that it was someone deeply involved with the organization she had heard about, and she felt like it would become a long conversation, so she reclined back on the couch in anticipation.

Once Esmeralda brewed some more tea, Alma went into more detail about everything.

That organization had been lingering in the shadows of not just Nirvana, but many other countries, not too different from Chimera Clauzen in the past, which Mira and the Fifty Bells had taken down together. And there were sure to be more of such organizations out there.

This one, which had spread quite far, was called Ira Muerte, and Alma had been working on destroying it for some time already.

“After many years of investigation, we found out that there’s four heads leading the whole organization.”

With that prelude, Alma went on to explain who those four heads were.

One of them was in charge of the organization’s weapons and drug trade team. And the main difference between that team and any other merchants was that every single item they dealt with was mired in darkness.

Stolen goods were par for the course, then came concealed and illegal weapons, favored by everyone leading such underground lives. They also dealt with outlawed magic wares, and various types of poison and venoms. This update ıs available on novel·fire·net

Those items had no decent use, they only served to assassinate, assault, or kill for joy, always connected to death in one way or another. Even most other arms dealers would feel chills seeing those items.

“Some people really are twisted…”

Mira looked down with a pensive look after hearing some of the examples Alma gave of the damage caused by that organizations, like a time when some bandits spread poison and killed everyone in a town, righteous nobles being assassinated by their concealed weapons, or an entire forest that burned down together with the wildlife in it.

“Yes, and very much so.”

Alma agreed in a low voice. She made sure to stress that those were only a handful of examples, and not even the worst ones. Many of the crimes happening all across the continent had been facilitated by the items sold by that organization.

Mira was left without words hearing all of that.
