Chapter 106: Chapter 106

The party was in full swing when Nami left Sariba talking to some other women. She went over to Velan and politely pulled him aside. Velan straightened his jacket and got closer to Nami so as to listen attentively to what she had to say.

"Velan, is there a way we could see Sharaina before the main event?" Nami asked Velan. He observed that she was tensed.

Velan was about to answer Nami when the sound of trumpets were heard. The two of them joined everyone watching fourteen guards dressed in red uniforms match into the ballroom with their swords out.

The guards arranged themselves in two lines and then pointed their swords up. Nami held her breath as she waited to see Sharaina.

In no time, Sharaina appeared in a white military uniform that was only worn by Kings. It was adorned with golden buttons and badges of honor. The uniform comprised of a white shirt, white trousers that were lightly loose and a white trench coat. A red cape was fixed on her shoulders and it swept the floor as she walked in her white knee boots.

Her hair was plaited in a single braid that ran all the way down to her knee. Everyone looked on at Sharaina in admiration.

Nami couldn't contain herself and she rushed over to Sharaina much to the shock of the guests. They immediately started to murmur amongst themselves.

Velan went after her with the intent of stopping her but two guards did it for him by blocking her way with their spears. Nami halted at looked at Sharaina with anxious eyes. Velan held Nami and smiled warmly at Sharaina. He was about to pull her away when Sharaina called after him.

"Let my parents pass." Sharaina ordered the guards and they immediately obeyed.

Velan held Nami's hand as they walked pass the guards. Nami freed herself from Velan's hold and stood in front of Sharaina. Sharaina towered over her as she wondered what her mother in law was up to. Nami swallowed hard when she felt the stares.

"How are you mama?" Sharaina calmly asked Nami.

"Sharaina, my child, from the day met you, I did nothing but wrong you." Nami said loud enough for most of the guests to hear her.

"Please don't do this. I don't want you to belittle yourself for my sake especially in front of all these people. I hold nothing against you." Sharaina softly said to Nami but she shook her head.

"No, I want it to be known that I was unfair to you. I completely misunderstood you and your family. Velan and Jayniss tried to tell me that you were a good person but I never listened to their words. What's worse is that I didn't trust my own son's judgment." Nami cried.

Sharaina felt extremely uncomfortable with her tears. "What is this mama; you want Light to be told that I made his mother cry? Do you want him to be angry with me?"

"I will talk some sense to him if that were to happen." Nami said and Sharaina chuckled.

Nami opened her purse and fiddled in it. Sharaina wondered what she was up to but when she pulled out her wedding rings, a gasp escaped from Sharaina's lungs. The murmurs became eminent as the people gossiped amongst themselves.

"I took these away from you because I believed that you were not worthy of my son. I took them away in secret but today I shall return them to you in front of all these people." Nami emotionally said. She stretched out her hand to Sharaina. "Give me your hand."

Sharaina glanced over to Velan and he gave Sharaina a warm nod. Sharaina nervously held out her hand and Nami slide the engagement ring down her finger. She then slide the wedding ring until it was on top of the engagement ring.

The whole time she was doing it, Sharaina reminisced her wedding day. She could vividly picture Light happily putting the rings on her finger. Sharaina felt her tears coming but she controlled herself and hugged Nami instead. Everyone clapped for them. Velan went over to them and gently pulled Sharaina aside. He gave her a quick hug.

"Come on now." He said after pulling away. "It is time for you to wear your crown."

"Yes papa." Sharaina happily nodded her head.

She bowed to her mother and father in law before turning away from them. Velan held Nami as they watched her walk down the red carpet. The trumpets began to play again as she walked underneath the swords that were pointed up by the guards.

Sharaina arrived at the throne and got down on one knee. The chief elder of the council was already there waiting for her with an opened scroll. Another elder stood beside him with Sharaina's golden and diamond encrusted crown on a red cushion.

"According to our succession laws, we hereby deem Sharaina Light, daughter of Sharumez the carpenter, the new supreme ruler of Dark Star." The chief elder said.

He gave the scroll to a servant and picked the crown. Sharaina had her eyes closed when he bent over to put the crown on her head. Sharaina felt the crown sit upon her head and she opened her eyes.

The elder raised his hands. "All hail Queen Sharaina!"

The trumpets began to play again as Queen Sharaina got back to her feet. She looked at the great golden throne of Dark Star and thought back to how her life used to be.

She was just a simple village girl with humble and modest parents. Not once had she ever seen herself in the royal castle. She never even saw herself obtaining a leadership role in anything but there she was; the crowned queen of Dark Star.

Sharaina took her first step up a stair and her last memory of Light came crushing in.

You will make a great queen. His words replayed in her mind.

Sharaina took another step up the stairs.

Queen Sharaina. She heard Sharumez say.

Another step.

Queen Sharaina. She heard Akirexer say.

Final step

Queen Sharaina. She heard Naian and Alainara say together.

I am now the queen of Dark Star. Sharaina thought to herself when she finally reached the throne.

She turned to everyone and saw the anticipation in them. She saw Sevilon and Ouman with their families. They happily gave a toast to her and she smiled at them. Sharaina sat on the throne and everyone cheered.

Their cheers were heard by everyone outside the castle and they began to sing and dance. The photographers that were allowed in the castle took pictures of Sharaina on the throne.

The chief elder raised his hands to the crowd and they quieted down. "Bring in the child." He commanded.

A woman walked in with Dawn in her arms. He was awake and making baby sounds as he played with his fingers. Nami looked longingly at the baby when the woman walked passed her and Queen Sharaina noticed this.

The woman stood beneath the stairs rocking the baby. The chief elder approached her with a bowl of scented oil.

"Hold it right there." Queen Sharaina ordered the Chief elder.

"Yes, your highness?" The chief elder asked respectively.

"I want my parents to hold their grandson as you perform the ceremony." Queen Sharaina clearly said. Velan and Nami were overjoyed with her words. Their daughters squeaked to themselves in excitement.

"As you wish my queen." The chief elder obeyed.

Velan and Nami were ushered to the throne. The woman gently placed Dawn in Nami's arms and she cried tears of joy. She and Velan admired their first grandchild with so much love in their eyes.

Queen Sharaina smiled warmly at them and gestured for the chief elder to continue. He dipped his thumb into the scented oil and applied it on Dawn's forehead. An elder with a cushion that had a tiny golden band bowed to the chief elder. The chief elder got the band and fixed it gently on Dawn's head.

"All hail Prince Dawn." He said and everyone cheered once more.

As soon as Prince Dawn's crowning was done, Velan and Nami were ushered to a secluded part of the V.I.P area and were soon joined by their daughters who wasted no time in admiring the baby.

The guards that had their swords pointing up marched out of the ball room. The doors opened once more and walking in were Naraygeous, Zentz, Yolin and Diavinx. They all wore the black uniform of commanders. Following them behind were Shays and Ronitte. They wore the navy blue uniforms of vice commanders.

Sevilon and Ouman went over to the throne and stood opposite each other. Philanda joined them and stood beside Sevilon. They were the only current members of the Enchanted Seven.

Naraygeous, Zentz, Yolin and Diavinx matched to the throne and bowed down to Queen Sharaina on one knee. Their families proudly looked on. Naraygeous saw Lalina looking at him from the corner of his eye and he flashed her a quick wink that no one but Queen Sharaina noticed. She smiled to herself.

The chief elder unfolded a scroll that was presented to him. "Do you solemnly swear to dedicate your life to the throne?" He asked.

"I do." They answered in unison.

"Do you solemnly swear to serve Dark Star with integrity and honesty?" The chief elder asked.

"I do." They answered in unison.

"Do you solemnly sear to dedicate your lives to the Dark Star army?" The chief elder asked.

"I do." They answered in unison.

The chief elder backed away with his head bowed. Queen Sharaina left her throne and walked down to them. She first placed her hand on Diavinx and made him feel her hot gamarax. She turned to Zentz and then to Yolin. When it was Naraygeous's turn, she secretly pulled his hair before finally making him feel her gamarax. Naraygeous winced at the pain and Zentz chuckled underneath his breath.

"I now, deem you members of the Enchanted Seven. You may rise." Queen Sharaina ordered them and they obeyed.

"Please induct your vice commanders." She told them.

The Enchanted Seven formed a straight line after Queen Sharaina sat on her throne. The vice commanders matched in and each of them knelt before their assigned commander. Vice commander Rint knelt before Commander Yolin. She still couldn't believe that the woman that defeated her was going to be her commander. Shays knelt before Commander Naraygeous. Ronitte knelt before Commander Ouman. A female warrior knelt before Commander Diavinx, a male warrior knelt before Commander Sevilon and another male one knelt before Commander Philanda. The Enchanted Seven placed their hands on their vice commanders and made them feel their gamarax. As soon as the ceremony was over, they all dispersed back to their seats.

Chief Malov Chalov was next to approach the throne. With him was Fidaphra and in her hand was a basket that contained an egg that was the size of an Ostrich's egg. The both of them bowed to Queen Sharaina and offered the egg to her. A servant took the egg away and another gave them a scroll. Malov opened it and smiled.

"Thank you for keeping your word Queen Sharaina. You can be rest assured that my people and I will be loyal to you."

"Business is business Chief Malov."' Queen Sharaina gently replied.

"Your highness, the egg we have given you belonged to one of our servants. She has a request." Malov Chalov humbly said.

"What is this request?" Queen Sharaina asked, concerned.

"She only asks that you name it Wadose." Malov quickly answered. "It means sacrifice in our native language."

"I don't see any reason to reject your request. However, I will only grant it on one condition."

"What is your desire your highness?" Malov asked Sharaina.

"I want your servant to come here and nurse her egg to the day it will become mature enough to be on its own." Queen Sharaina said much to the delight of Fidaphra.

"Thank you so much. You are so kind." Fidaphra emotionally thanked Queen Sharaina.

The two vexar green reptiles happily walked away from the throne and joined everyone. Now that the important ceremonies were over, it was time to feast. There was chatter everywhere as people dined and drunk happily.

Melonina was playing with Waxx, Precious and Quix. She chased them down a hallway but lost sight of them because they were faster than her. Melonina looked everywhere for them but couldn't find them.

Before she knew it, even she was lost. Melonina got scared and was about to start crying when she heard voices. She followed them to a balcony and walked in on Naraygeous and Lalina kissing. Melonina gasped and immediately caught their attention. She backed away frightened.

Naraygeous took pity on her and let go of Lalina. He slowly approached Melonina with his hands held up high so as to assure her that he wasn't going to harm her. Melonina placed her hand on her beating heart. She took another step back and tripped. Naraygeous held her hand and she screamed. Lalina hit his head and he immediately let go of her.

"Why have you hit me Lalina?" He whimpered.

"I have hit you because you have scared the poor thing." Lalina sternly scolded Naraygeous.

"I didn't mean to." Naraygeous whimpered some more and knelt down so that Melonina looked him in the face. Her ten year old appearance made her look even more innocent. "What is your name little girl?" He politely asked her with a big smile.

"Melonina." She whispered back.

"Are you lost?" Naraygeous asked her and she gave him a nervous nod. "Who did you come with?"

"I came with Commander Sevilon and his family." Melonina answered back. She felt a little comfortable.

"Would you like us to take you to him?" He asked her and she blushed. "Alright then." He got up and held her little hand. Naraygeous smiled to Lalina who playfully rolled her eyes at him. "Come on, let's go and escort Melonina downstairs."

"Of course." Lalina happily replied.

Ronitte was having a chat with Liss and Mayla when Shays approached them. His eyes were on Ronitte and this was so obvious to Liss and Mayla who abruptly got up to leave. Ronitte looked at them stunned.

"Where are you going?" She asked them.

"Girl, you need some privacy." Liss waved her eyebrows up and down. "Moreover, I have to go and see Nelex at the hospital."

"I also need to lie down. I'm not fully recovered yet." Mayla added with a chuckle.

The two waved playfully at Ronitte and left. Shays held out his hand to her and she looked at him blankly. "May I have this dance?" He politely asked her.

"When are you going to stop bothering me?" Ronitte asked him coldly.

"I'll stop when you accept my love." Vice commander Shays winked at Ronitte.

"What do you even see in me?" She curtly asked him.

"I see a beautiful woman in need of a gentleman's attention." He said and she blushed.

Ronitte suddenly faced down with a hurt look on her face. "I am not beautiful. In case you haven't noticed, I am fat."

Shays got her hand with both his hands and kissed it. Ronitte blushed and nervously looked around to see if anyone was watching them. She was relieved to see that no one saw them.

"In my eyes, you are the most beautiful woman here and I'd be honored if you danced with me." He warmly said to her and brought her to her feet. Ronitte happily let Shays lead her to the dance floor.

Liss and Mayla were walking down the hallway when they saw Queen Sharaina with Dawn in her arms. They giggled and chuckled merrily at her and gave her a drunken bows. Queen Sharaina shook her head at them playfully.

"All hail Queen Sharaina." Liss said and they took another playful bow.

"Okay enough of that you two." Queen Sharaina told them and they laughed. "Where are you two headed?" She asked them, curious.

"Well your highness, " Mayla cheerfully said and Sharaina rolled her eyes at her with a chuckle. "I am going to my room to rest whereas Liss is going to see her lover boy at the hospital."

"Where are you going with your baby?" Liss asked Queen Sharaina.

"I am going to bed. It has been a long day and I'm beat." Queen Sharaina sighed.

"You can say that again." Liss laughed. "Well I'll see you around Sharaina. Take care of yourself."

"You too Liss. Say hi to Nelex for me." Queen Sharaina waved at Liss. When Liss was gone to turned to Mayla. "Be sure to get enough rest Mayla. You really gave us a scare."

"Oh don't worry Sharaina. I plan on sleeping for the next fourteen hours." Mayla laughed softly. "Well good night." She said and walked away.

Queen Sharaina walked up a flight of stairs singing to her baby all the way. She walked through three hallways before finally halting at a door. She opened the door and lovingly looked at Light who lay peacefully in the silky and cotton covers.

Three nurses were attending to him when she walked in. She waited for them to finish what they were doing and they promptly left as soon as they were done.

"It is time for you to meet your papa, Dawn." Queen Sharaina happily said to Dawn and he laughed softly. She went and sat beside Light. She made Dawn look at Light.

"Dawn, this is your papa. If he was awake right now, you would have been his favorite person in the world." Queen Sharaina softly said to Dawn and he giggled and sucked his fingers. "You like the sound of that don't you?" She teased him and he giggled.

"He will always be with us. Never again will we be separated my baby. One day, he will wake up and our family will become whole like the way it was supposed to be. Until then, we will have to be patient while papa gets better."

Queen Sharaina turned her attention to Light. "Isn't that right my love? Your son and I will be here waiting for you to return to us. I have faith that the day when you return to us will come sooner than we expect."

Queen Sharaina carried Dawn to the other side of the bed. She pulled the covers and put Dawn next to Light. She then took off her cape and coat and placed them on the sofa in the room. She took off her boots and got into the covers.

Sharaina looked at Dawn drooling on his father's hand and a soft laugh escaped her lips. She took off her crown and looked thoughtfully at it. Sharaina sighed and carefully set it on the head board. In no time she and Dawn were sleeping peacefully beside Light.
