Chapter 11: Chapter 11
It's been one month since Eleonora was gone. Zanvil couldn't concentrate on anything. Whenever he entered the house he hallucinated about Nora. He hallucinated about her cooking in the kitchen. Sitting in the living room or nursing in the garden. She didn't even call him once. He was getting frustrated day by day. He couldn't get that damn woman out of his system. He didn't know why but he missed her. He missed her terribly.
When he first entered her room 9 days after she was gone, he was astonished to see the room. It was the smallest room in the whole mansion with a huge window and a wide balcony . Her room consisted of one average size bed, a dresser, a small closet and a small showcase which was full of various seashells and other few furnitures. Her wall had a few paintings of birds and feathers. It was not any simple birds but migratory birds to be exact. Some paintings was about a bird flying away while leaving a feather.
He stared at the paintings. What could it mean? He understood it had deep meaning to her.
That day again he entered her room and went near her plants. He smiled and watered them. He was about to come out of the room when he saw a white envelope lying on the bedside table.
He took it and opened it. It was Nora's doctor's report with a DVD. He quickly went to his room and put the DVD on his laptop. When the file opened he saw it was the DVD of Nora's sonogram.
He heard the heartbeat of his baby. When he looked at the little tiny beany his heartbeat increased. That was his baby. Their baby.
Suddenly he realised his one big mistake. He neglected his own baby for his selfish reason. In the process of hating her and avoiding her he pushed away his own baby.
How could he do that? How could he be so heartless? It was his own baby for God's sake. He felt terrible. His baby must hate him by now. He was the worst father of the world. He was feeling like a monster. He was so busy hating her that he didn’t even realise what he was doing to his own baby. He cared for their baby but never showed it to hurt Nora. Would his baby ever forgive him for his monstrous behaviour? Would Eleonora ever forgive him? Did he even deserve their forgiveness? Was it too late? No matter what the past was, no matter how much he hated her, he shouldn't have pushed away his baby. Nothing could justify his actions and he knew it. He should have at least taken care of their baby. He mixed up his personal hatred for Nora with their unborn baby.
Coming out of his thoughts he decided something.
He quickly dialed his pilot's number.
"Get the jet ready within an hour. We are going to fly to Italy today." He said and cut the call.
He had made up his mind. He was going to see his wife and baby. He was going to earn their forgiveness no matter what. He made a terrible mistake and he was going to rectify it. It's better he kept the past in the past and concentrated on the present and future.
Humans make mistakes but what makes a person better and different from others is how much willingness he was ready to put in rectifying those mistakes.
He knew he hated Eleonora. He had his own reasons. But no matter what those reasons were it didn't justify his ignorance and carelessness towards his unborn baby. He knew that and also he was ready to rectify his mistake no matter what the cost was.

Adriana heard the bell rang. She went near the door and opened it. She was shocked to see her son in law standing there with his luggage. What's with those two always coming uninformed and giving her shock?
"Uhmm , can I come in?" Zanvil asked, a bit hesitant . He wasn’t sure if Eleonora had told her family about his treatment towards her family or not. If she did then he was in deep trouble. Maybe he would also get a few kicks and punches here and there. He deserved it though.
"Yeah of course, please come in, I was just shocked to see you suddenly. Nora didn't tell me that you are coming. So how are you?" Adriana smiled at his son in law brightly while opening the door ajar so that Zanvil could come in.
"I'm fine. How are you? I didn't inform Eleonora that I was coming. I wanted to surprise her." He replied honestly. It's true that he wanted to surprise her.
He wasn’t sure of her reaction if he had told her before coming. He was afraid of her rejection so he didn't tell her.
"Oh that's alright. How is everyone at your home?" Adriana asked as he and Zanvil sat on the sofa in the living room.
"Everyone's good. How is Dad and others?" Zanvil asked, referring to his father in law and Nora's two siblings.
"They are all good. Nora is on the terrace with Cara and Lorenzo. Patrick is at work." Adriana said while handing Zanvil a glass of water. Zanvil nodded with a smile and took the glass. He drank the water as he was really thirsty.
"You know I am really happy that you and Nora decided to start your family early." Adriana said when Zanvil finished drinking his water. Zanvil didn't know how to respond to it. He felt guilty. He just smiled faintly at Adriana.
"You must be very tired. Let me take you to Nora's room. You can get freshened up first then meet them." Adriana said while getting up.
"Yeah. That would be better. Thanks." Zanvil said in a clear voice and followed his mother in law with his luggage.
After getting freshened up and changing he directly headed to the terrace. When he made his way in the terrace he saw his wife laughing with her siblings while holding a lantern.
He watched as she flew the lantern with her siblings and squealed like a child. He noticed she had gained a few pounds and her baby bump was now fully visible. He smiled at himself.
After all he had to make up with his baby.
"Zanvil!" Nora turned around hearing Cara's voice. When she turned around she was shocked. Her husband was standing there in all his glory. What was he doing there? When did he come? Why did he come? A lot of questions came across her head.
