Chapter 77: Chapter 77

It was a new day, a brand new day but this time around, the morning sun wasn't out yet. The weather was in a mixed mood. It was as if the weather was also not happy about Mr. Evidence's situation. It was 7:00am in the morning but it looked as if it was 6am. The weather wasn't in a happy mood at all!

Last night, Annabel had carried Rose to her home because since it was getting late that yesterday, Annabel refused Rose to spend a night at the hospital again. She took Rose home so that she would take a good shower and to also have a goodnight sleep but how could she when the only man she loves was struggling for his life. Her dearest Mr. Evidence. On the other hand, Mike also went home, Mr. Evidence's home. Alongside David to at least tell the news to the few of Mr. Evidence's family members so they would know about his condition.

Meanwhile, at Annabel's home…

Annabel had already woken up, taken her bath and was now preparing breakfast. Today, she didn't want any of the servants to make her and Rose a breakfast, she wanted to make it by herself so she could serve Rose her meal so early and that was why she had to wake so early to prepare a fast breakfast. It was already 7: 20am and breakfast was already prepared. Annabel dished out the meal on a plate and beautifully arranged it inside a tray, putting each and everything she was sure Rose would need after eating. She placed them all inside the tray alongside with the meal as she carried the tray of food and was now heading towards Rose's room.

After she had walked for some seconds, she finally arrived at Rose's room as she held the tray with her left hand and then used her right hand to push the door open. When she was sure enough that the door was open now, she used her two hands to hold the meal so as not to let it fall from her hand by mistake. After she had held the meal with both hands, she walked into Rose's room and saw that her dearest Rose was still in bed. She then walked directly towards the fancy chair and table that was arranged by the side wall of the room as she placed the meal on it. After she had placed the meal on the fancy table, she walked back to the direction where the door was located and slightly shot it before walking back towards Rose. She got closer to the bed where Rose laid and sat at the edge of the bed and looked at Rose but finally realized that her dearest Rose wasn't sleeping. She wasn't crying either. But her eyes were red. Rose looked as if her emotions were confused and didn't know how to express what she was feeling at that moment.

She just laid on the bed as so many memories ran through her head. She could now remember the first day she met with Mr. Evidence, how she met with him and what transpired between them as a little but a fast smile left her lips. She also remembered how herself and Mr. Evidence fell in love but after sometime, when she realized that she might never get to experience those moments with him again, those tears that had refused to drop started flowing and that was the scene that broke Annabel's heart.

Annabel, still sitting on the bed and was looking at Rose in a pitiful way, she moved closer to Rose and started to caress Rose's hair like that of a baby, trying to calm her down and stop her from crying.

"Shhhhhhh. What are you doing to yourself now? Don't cry, okay? Nothing had happened to him yet and remember I promised you that I will do my best to save him right?" Annabel said but didn't get any response from Rose as she raised Rose's head and placed it on her thigh, still trying to calm Rose down. As Rose laid on the bed and placed her head on Annabel's thigh, she continued to sob.

"Don't cry, your tears are hurting me. I'll do my best and I need you to trust me. Okay?" Annabel said and immediately Rose heard her words, she looked up at Annabel and nodded as Annabel saw that as an opportunity to wipe her tears away. Annabel cleaned Rose's tears as she helped her to get up from the bed. She took her into the bathing room and bathed her. She knew that Rose was weak at this point and she needed her 100% support. After Annabel was done bathing Rose and dried her up with the pink towel hanging on the bathroom wall, they came out from the bathroom and walked towards the dressing room as she dressed her up before they both walked towards the fancy table and chair where the food was placed and properly covered.

Annabel made Rose sit on the chair while she sat on another. She opened the breakfast she had prepared which was fried ripe plantain and fried egg with juice. The face of the food was enough to make one's stomach beg for more and more after eating the first set of food being served. Each plantain Annabel picked up with her hand from the plate was accomplished with an egg on it, directing it towards Rose's mouth but when Annabel noticed that Rose had refused to open her mouth to let the delicious food in, she spoke.

"You need to eat something. You don't need to be hard on yourself. I'm sure Mr. Evidence would want you to eat if he is here as well." Annabel said and immediately, Rose started to cry again before replying to Annabel.

"Sister, why should I eat? Tell me why I should eat when the man I love hasn't eaten and it's going to be twenty-four hours now. Tell me why I should eat." She said and continued crying. "He is my everything now, I can't lose him and if I do, I won't be able to bear the pain. Sister, my blood is in his body now and his blood is in mine. I'm no longer a virgin." She burst into cry as she hugged Annabel with so much passion and Annabel could feel her tears drop on her shoulders.

Immediately Annabel heard Rose, she realized that Evidence had disvirgined her and something crazy ran through her mind but she dared not to say it because she knew that Rose wasn't in the right state to receive a taunt from her. Annabel, remembering all of this, took back her words and said something else.

"Don't cry baby girl. What you both shared, I'm sure that is enough to make him come back to you. You both love each other and I'm sure he would definitely come back if not for anything, he would do it for you. Okay?" Annabel said as she continued to calm Rose down and after sometime, she noticed that Rose was calm, so, she decided to say something funny to put a smile on Rose's face but how would Rose smile in this current situation?.

"You know you look ugly when you cry right?" Annabel asked and immediately Rose heard her, she gave Annabel a look. Those looks were blank, Annabel wasn't able to interpret what it meant but she knew that her words made Rose feel a little better and that was why she didn't bother that much to know what the look was all about.

"Now eat your food." Annabel took the plantain and egg as she started feeding Rose. Rose didn't want to reject the food so that Annabel wouldn't feel bad for trying her best to make her happy and at last, she still rejected the food. As all these things ran through Rose's mind, she decided to eat the food without causing trouble but even though she ate little, at least, that made Annabel feel happy.

After sometime, Rose took a sip of the juice and some water before she then told Annabel that she was full and she didn't want to eat any more. Annabel did not get angry at her because she knew that Rose had tried by eating half of the meal.

"Ok then." Annabel said as she immediately called one of the servants to come clear out the dishes which she did. Annabel allowed Rose to rest for sometime before she brought about Mr. Evidence's issue.

"We will be going to the hospital today. I'll also call my dad to import some drugs for me. I mean… the medication for Mr. Evidence… I…"

"Okay sister no problem. Have you heard from Mara?" Rose asked.

"Yeah. We spoke yesterday. She called me and she also told me that she would call you too. You didn't see her call?" Annabel asked.

"No, I didn't. Oh. Maybe she got busy but I'm sure she will call you tomorrow. Mara has a boyfriend now. You know him right? I mean… Daniel, David's friend." Annabel said as Rose tried to see if she could remember.

"Maybe i know him but I don't know his name. How is Mara doing? Hope she isn't being hard on herself since her father died?" Rose asked as Annabel replied.

"Mara is going through alot but I'm happy that Daniel came into her life. Clara is dead."

Rose heard the shocking news as she widened her eyes in shock.

"Clara is dead? How? When?"

"No one knows yet. We are yet to find out. It was announced in the news that the police and government are tracking those that were responsible for the bomb that was planted in the plane that led to the crash. I believe with time, they will find them soon."

"Clara was in the plane?" Rose asked.

"Yes. But just get some rest now. We will be going out soon." Annabel said as she held Rose's hand and walked her to the bed for Rose to lay and when Rose had laid on the bed, Annabel started to cuddle her.

Meanwhile, David and Mike were now at home, they already told a few of Mr. Evidence's family members about his condition.

David hasn't received any call from Daniel yet as he started to wonder if Jack actually delivered his message. Since he didn't receive Daniel's call yet, with the anger burning in his eyes, he decided to call Daniel.
