Chapter 58: Chapter 58

I press play and the video starts playing. ‘What the fuck!’ I yell deep within me. I act strong although my eyes lids are winking weekly as tears crammed my reddish eyes. Unfortunately, I can't suppress them. I'm not strong as I think.

Tears erupt down to cheeks as I effortlessly bust into tears with the phone slipping off my arms and falling to the floor, as my fingers became weak, — my body was weak.

“I'm so sorry, Sheila” Natasha grips me into her arm. But I feel so ashamed of myself and I end up pushing her away. I don't merit her compassion, she warned me but I won't listen.

“I can't even imagine how you…feel…” she tries to grip me back into her arms but I flinch. “Nat, I'm fine!” I wipe my tears away “I won't waste any of my tears for him again. I'm tired!” I shout. “You don't have to act strong, you should cry if you feel as to!” she says. “No, I won't!” I say.

Then I hear a bit of sound from my phone which is on the floor at one isolated corner of the house where I flung it. Instantly as I hear the notification sounds, I scramble to grip the phone. I pick it up the screen is fucked up. I move back to the couch and I try to get into my “messenger app” to check the messages.

I see lots of miscalls from him. Access isn't easy as the broken screen freezes at various intervals and it's so annoying. However, I message to get to my message. Hmmm… I go through his text “…We need to discuss… Don't believe all that you see” I read out loud and laugh.

“Nat, can you just believe this? Wow!” my laughs end with serious frowning. Natasha says nothing. “Why ain't you saying anything?” I ask “He seriously takes me for a fool but I won't fall for this no more. He can go to hell for all I care!” I shout.

“Oh, Sheila, I don't even know what to say. I just hate him, is an understatement” she says then adds “Sheila, don't keep what you feel. You are free to cry no one will judge!” she says. “Why will anyone judge me in the first place, I did nothing bad. Or do you have something to say” I get apprehensive.

“Sheila, don't be silly. I just want you to be real, — be you” she says. “I'm just being me. You can leave, I'm fine” I get up, rush to the room and lock my inside. She follows me yelling “Sheila, stop this and talks, — I'm your friend for crying out loud l!” she yells but I have already closed the door.

Pain is an understatement to explain how I feel “I just need to be alone to think about my life, is that too much to ask?” I yell in frustration.

“What a day!” I claim with shock ‘I still can't believe that she slept in my room. But what is she up to? I hope nothing stupid happened if not I might never forgive myself. Hmm,’ I grumble deep down. I have been this thoughtful since I left the house. I don't know what is wrong with my father or what is his motivation, but he can't treat me like a fool. I deserve my freedom, I'm a grown-up man for crying out loud.

The car parks at the entrance of the building and the door of the car are immediately by an employee. “Welcome back Sir” he bows with admiration. “Hmmm…” I grumble as I look around and I don't miss anything about this place.

After a few seconds, I take a deep breath before moving into the building. “Good morning, sir! Welcome back, sir!” I receive greetings felt and right. I simply smile at them as a reply without saying anything.

“Sir, I was told about your arrival so I decided to come and welcome you down stares. I received an email from the investors they want you to go through it and sign it as soon as possible” as soon as she sees me she starts speaking like a parrot.

“Carol, I'm not in the mood for this. Take this to my office, I will be there shortly!” I fling her my bag before taking the lifter straight to my dad’s office. I can still see her look filled with shock as the elevator door closed.

In the office,

I barge in, yelling “What the hell was that you did to me last night? And why the hell did you send, Erika to my room as if everything was ok?” I'm so mad at him and just the fact that he doesn't realise how mad I am made I am madder.

“You can read the media, you are on the first cover of every newsletter and your face on every channel, just like I wanted it to. Hmmm, the press lady I hired is doing a great job. To think I was reticent in the beginning” he says happily then he adds “You have a live press conference with Erika, at Lifetv. I'm not a fan of those reality tv shows but your soon-to-be wife is and she and her family are in assisting to have you on board” he keeps speaking.

“I won't do that. I just came to tell you that, I'm going to use everything I have to take back what I have invested in your companies, even if that means ruining you alone” I threaten him.

“Stop barging, son. You know I'm not scared of you or anyone else. The only people that scare me on this planet earth are me, myself and I. So, the press conference is at 1 pm and I want to see you there”

“Hmmm” I frown as I turn to leave his office, he says “I know about that young lady, I was told everything I needed to know about her. I have taken everything from her, -- but didn't bother, I left your whore with the house you bought with my money. But always keep in mind that, I can take it back anytime I feel as too“ he says maliciously and I turn back and faced him.

“Let her out of this, she has nothing to do with this!” I scowl. “Ok, fine! I will if you do what I say. It's as simple as good morning!” he smiled. “You are so greedy!” I say before moving out of his office.

I go to my office and I tell my Secretary Carol, who is standing right in front of me to “Book me a flight to Denvernew!” I say. “Sorry, sir I don't know if you are aware of this, but all your accounts are frozen!” she says with a shivering voice.

I glare at her furiously “when is the next flight?” I ask. “at 10:30 am sir and only a few seats are left!” she says. “So I just have an hour and a half. Hold on!” I tell her as I take out my phone and dial out a call.

“Hey, congratulations, men. I just watched the news, damn, you are all over” Graham says as if he was waiting for my call. “Graham, don't believe everything you see,” I say. “And what is that supposed to me mean? Isn't you in the pictures” he asks with shock?

“It's a long story, please, book me the next flight to Denver, we will discuss it when I arrive!” he says. “Okay, I'm doing that right away!” he says. “Thank you!” I say. “You are welcome, men!” with this says he offs the call then in a few minutes, I receive a notification in my email.

“Carol, this stays only between you and me, okay? If anyone asks you where I am, you don't tell them!” I say. “Okay, sir!” with that said I left the office straight to the airport.
