Chapter 7: Chapter 7

His home

Elena's pov

*************

The day went fast. After breakfast, I went up to my room to start preparing for my visit to Anthony's home. He had wanted us to meet again after our date and I couldn't have asked for anything else. All I wanted was to be close to him always.

I quickly showered, moisturized, and applied my makeup. I took my time to ensure that I did a good job on my face and what I saw in the mirror pleased me.

My blue jumpsuit was carefully laid on the bed and at the foot of my bed was my high-heeled white shoes. It pleased me a lot that Anthony was tall and I could wear my heels without making him look smaller than me.

"Are you going somewhere?" My mother asked as she walked into my room. I wasn't expecting her and also I did not want her to know where I was going. Intruding on my privacy never bothered her, she walked in and out of my room whenever she liked and never bothered to knock. It had never bothered me but now as I sat on the dressing chair, I didn't want any intrusion. I just wanted to be alone with my thoughts.

"Where are you going to," My mum asked this time around.

"To see a friend."

"Someone, I know?"

"No."

"Male or female."

I rolled my eyes at my mother, it was a gesture I resorted to whenever I wanted to think before answering.

"My roommate in school, Helen." I lied.

"That girl is below your social circle. Why not make time to visit Anna, she just came back from the USA last week."

"Okay, mother. I would do that later." I glanced at my watch again. I didn't want to be late like last time.

When my mother sat on the edge of the bed my heart sank, she wasn't about to leave. I went late to my first date with Anthony because of her and today she has started again. I used to enjoy the way she ensured I was always around her whenever I came home for the holidays. She was like a mother hen that never let her chicks out of her sight, I used to be flattered by the attention but lately, it was starting to get on my nerves. She had even insisted I go to the University here in Nigeria so I wouldn't be far from her, I used to think it was because she didn't want me far from her but nowadays I feel she just wants me under her control and watchful eyes.

However now I felt choked up, I knew she would never agree to my dating Anthony so I needed to hide it from her at least for now. I wanted to enjoy my relationship until it was not possible to keep her in the dark.

"I invited Mrs. Elliott over for lunch. Do you know that her son is an investment banker in the UK, and he is single?" Mother smiled at me as she spoke, I knew ideas were already brewing in her mind.

"I didn't know mother and I don't care," I replied. I was already tensed up and time was running fast and I needed to be on my way.

"You don't need to be so rude, Elena."

"Sorry, mum. I need to be on my way now."

The way mum glanced me over was so intrusive. I felt shy under her scrutiny but tried to act bravely. She had this power over me that I found myself always doing her bidding.

"I will leave now, but get home early. The road is not safe for young ladies."

"I will," I replied. She stood from the bed and kissed my cheeks before leaving my room.

I heaved a sigh of relief, I didn't know I had been holding my breath all this while.

I adjusted the creases from my jumpsuit before wearing them, then wore my white heeled shoes. Looking myself over in the mirror, I grabbed the car keys on the dressing table and dashed off.

When I came downstairs I met my father sitting at the front lawn sipping his morning coffee with a newspaper in his hands. In his usual funny manner, he pushed his glasses down his nose and looked me over.

"Where are you off to, looking like a goddess."

I smiled at Dad and blushed at his compliment. He always found ways to pay me and mum compliments.

"To see a friend."

"Who"

"A friend, Dad " I grumbled.

"He or she doesn't have a name."

"Dad, I have to go now," I replied and turned towards where my car was packed.

"Where is your phone."

"In my….oh my goodness. I forgot my bag."

"Call one of the servants to get it for you."

"I have to get it myself." I dashed off to my room. I could not send the servants to get the bag because I had not chosen the bag I was going out with and I needed a bag that would match my attire.

I was almost running late when I finally left the house. The traffic to Ajegunle was light, there weren't many cars on the road as it was on a Thursday morning around 10:30. The only hold-up was caused by a little pothole and every driver tried to avoid falling into it thereby avoiding the part with the pothole.

At exactly 45minutes later I was at Anthony's place. When I packed my car and alighted, I noticed some group of teenage boys watching me, there was no animosity in their stares so I wasn't scared.

They probably noticed my confusion as one of them came to meet me where I stood beside my car. I had just brought out my phone to place a call to Anthony.

"Good Day ma'am." The young teenage boy said to me.

"Good day," I replied and held my bag closer to myself.

He just stood smiling at me and I felt a ripple of emotion go through me. I was scared he might harm me but at the same time, the look of admiration on his young face and the way he grinned at me made me want to laugh out loud.

Just then I heard a familiar voice speak.

"Elena, you are here."

I felt relieved and happy, he walked towards me and held my hand in his. I felt a spark work through my hands and all over my body.

"Is she your girl?" The young man asked Anthony.

"Yes, she is, Haruna."

"She is beautiful, I like her," Haruna replied, he had not removed his eyes from my face.

"Yes, she is. Unfortunately, she is taken." Anthony replied and smiled down at me.

I just blushed as the conversation went back and forth.

"We have to go now Haruna, see you later " Anthony held my hands and walked me towards his home.

It was a two-story building and as we climbed the stairs, I noticed some cobwebs at some corners of the house. The way it clustered together and filled a space showed it had been there for a while. I quickly reverted my eyes, focusing entirely on Anthony's strong backside.

The way he moved with confidence and his overall masculinity made me suddenly horny. I smiled just thinking about it and just then he turned to face me.

"Why are you smiling." He asked me.

I could feel the heat spread over me and I blushed, the atmosphere felt so hot as he scrutinized me.

I shook my head in reply unable to speak.

"My humble aboard. "Anthony said as he opened the door to his flat. His house was ordinary but homely, the furniture wasn't expensive or glamorous but it fitted their home perfectly.

"Sit here," Anthony said, pointing towards a yellow couch by the right side.

"Thank you," I replied and sat down. I could feel the bites of the hardwood against my buttocks. The pads on the cushion were weak from overuse.

It dawned on me that Anthony wasn't from a wealthy family and my parents especially my mother would never approve of us. But I loved Anthony, his smile made my stomach flutter with butterflies. His personality and charm were so soothing, I couldn't imagine life without him.

Anthony left the sitting room and came with a cold glass of fruit cocktail drink. The weather was extremely hot and I felt pleased with his thoughtfulness towards me.

He joined me on the couch and put his hands over my shoulder, I laid my head on his shoulders and we talked about random things. In his arms, I felt protected and assured, when I raised my head and looked into his eyes I saw longings and desire in them.

"I love you, Anthony," I said surprisingly even myself as I spoke those words.

"I love you more," Anthony replied.

I wanted him so much, my body release fluids in between my legs as desire washed over me. Bending over he kissed me longingly and I matched his passion with mine.

When he broke the kiss I was surprised and sad then he lifted me from the couch and carried me into a room I later got to know was his.
