"The kids seemed to be having lots of fun." Anthony sipped his cocktail enjoying the scene before him. Emma and Ava were splashing water around inside in the pool giggling and swimming around the pool. Emma was not a good swimmer like Ava so she had to wear an inflatable swimming tube.
It was a sight that greatly appeased his soul, and when he turned to look at his wife he saw the smile at the corner of her mouth. She was also enjoying the view before her.
He also noticed a few lines at the corner of her eyes, the sadness in her eyes was beginning to fade away, she looked very happy and content. After causing her so much pain he hoped to restore the high-spirited young lady he had fallen in love with.
Selena felt Anthony's eyes on her, and when their eyes met she looked away but not before he smiled at her. She wondered why he was looking at her with so much intensity. Could he be regretting why he brought her to the water pack with the children?
She wished she could read his thoughts, maybe his request for them to get back together was because of the kids. He had probably lost all the love he used to have for her, she felt faint all of a sudden but tried not to let her negative thoughts weigh her down, she would do anything for the sake of her children's happiness.
"Mummy, daddy join us. " Ava called out to her parents.
"Please." Emma chorused along with her sister. She had spent the weekend with her mother and sister and even though she missed her daddy's presence it had been a lot of fun.
"Let's get wet Elena." Anthony stood up and stretched almost knocking off his cocktail glass.
"No, maybe next time."
"But you are wearing a swimming suit already, don't let it go to waste." He came closer to her as he talked
Elena panicked wondering what he had in mind. He bent over and scooped her into his arms. "Put me down, stop Anthony. Please." She couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry but laughter won anyway.
Moving towards the pool Anthony walked down the stairs of the pool and into the water, their daughters cheering them on.
They all forgot about the time, and other things going on became inconsequential as they had the best time in and out of the pool.
On their way home the children dozed off in the car while their parents drove in compatible silence.
"We are home, Ava; Emma."
Waving goodbye to them they alighted from the car and went straight to their room.
"Elena, I wanted to discuss something important with you."
"Now?. Can't it wait?"
"No, it can't wait. I want you and Ava to move in with us. We are a family and we have wasted ten years already."
"Can I think about it, you know ten years is a very long time. I have to be sure if it's what I still want."
"This wasn't the answer I was hoping for but okay. You have till next week to make up your mind. No more delay."
"Good night Anthony."
"Goodnight."
Anthony didn't call Elena throughout the period, he planned to wait till the end of the week he had given her. He had made up his mind to go with any decision she made. But he was hopeful and confident they would still be together.

"Your body is burning up Emma. You won't be going to school today."
"But mum, we are having a history test today and I don't want to miss out," Emma complained, even as she spoke it took great effort to get the words out.
"The test can wait, just get better okay."
Emma's fever only got worse by the time Ava came back from school. Emma was too sick to even stay awake and listen to her talk about what happened at school and how she was missed.
"Let her rest Ava. Please ask the cook to make some noodles for Emma."
"Okay, mum." Ava sped out of the room.
"Mum," Emma whispered, as Elena dampened some towels and placed them on her forehead.
"Yes, darling."
"Can you call dad, I want him to come over."
"He would be here tonight, I already called him.
Emma dozed off again, her fever wouldn't just go down. Later that night Anthony walked into the room and held his daughter's hands.
When her eyes fluttered open she managed to speak "Daddy, is that you."
"Yes, honey. Don't strain yourself." He warned because she was struggling to sit up.
"I want to go home, take me home with you." Her eyes shot close again she was so tired.
Anthony looked up at Elena who managed a weak smile, her eyes filled "She doesn't like it here, is that why she has been sick." Elena's voice choked up.
"No, Elena. Whenever she had been sick I was always with her. It has nothing to do with her staying here with you.
Elena moved back to the bed to replace the towel on Emma's head with another damp one.
"I would come to pick her up tomorrow. I would also like to know your decision on what we spoke of last week?
Elena remained silent.
