Chapter 5: Chapter 5

He was laughing holding onto his stomach, with tears in his eyes, absolutely dry. The group of friends look back at the bed to see the bed wet with water. They roar out his name causing him to run for his life. He runs out of the room going towards the pool area to escape them. Unfortunately, with the luck not at his side, the group ran behind him and entered the pool area as well.

They smirk and move towards him to take their revenge. Just as they were about to pounce on him he ducks and moves away causing the group to trip and fall over into the pool. Karthik now had bent down and laughed his lungs out watching them make faces and come out of the pool. Some were scowling while some whined about how now they are totally drenched.

"Come on guys, it was fun. You should have seen your faces." Karthik said still laughing out.

"No it wasn't!" Maira exclaimed.

"My dress got spoiled too" Alya said while pouting.

"Well you can change!" Karthik pointed out to his twin sister.

"Whatever brother." Alya pulled a funny face at him.

All this while Yash had his eyes fixed on Alya. His thoughts running wild. 'Why does this have to pout like that! Shit, my emotions are going haywire again.' He was broken out from his thoughts when Karan shook him up while calling his name. Which made everyone look at him with confusion.

"Yash! Yash!! Yash!!!" Karan screamed in his ear, causing Yash to stumble back scream in Karan face in shock. "What!??"

"Huh? What the F! Why you screaming!?" Yash screamed back at him.

"Well you looked like you were lost!" Yash said shrugging.

"You okay buddy?" Karthik asked him looking a bit concerned for his friend. But before he could answer, Karan laughed saying, "I think due to cold water his brain froze". Yash retorted to his dear friend by calling out his name, "Karrraann". Their bickering continued as Karan pointed out to Yash that unlike him, he remembers his own name. So Yash doesn't need to call out his name again and again. The girls immediately started laughing hearing them bicker while Yash and Karthik gave a glare towards Karan which he dismissed by waving his hand and walking out of the pool area.

Just when all the 5 young people walked out of the pool area into the house, there stood Nyonika, furious. "Karthik! What the hell did you do to the house??Why is there water everywhere!?"

Karthik just shrugged innocently and quickly ran away. Nyonika rolled her eyes at her son's childlike behavior. "Kids, go change before you catch cold. I'll prepare hot chocolate", saying so she dismissed the group and walked to the kitchen.

The group quickly went off to the guest rooms and changed into their fresh dry outfits. In the meantime, Nyonika had set the table up for breakfast with hot chocolate drink. Just as she was done setting the cutlery, she saw the group of friends running down the stairs and pooling around the dining table. The order they sat was, Nyonika - Karthik - Maira - Karan - Yash - Alya.

As they were all chatting and having breakfast, Karthik noticed Karan not eating but instead looking at his phone with a small smile. Karthik had his eyebrows raised at this scene finding it amusing. He quickly signaled everyone to look at Karan.

On the other hand Karan was so lost in his thoughts that he did not notice what was happening around him. He was in his own world. He had gotten a message from the girl with the username, TownGirl that she has arrived in the city. This news in itself was a happy news for him. But he wondered how could he find her when he doesn't even know her name or how she looked or in which university she is in. His thoughts were broken out when Karthik low whistled and sung, "Someone is lost in someone's thoughts, I wonder who that someone is."

Hearing Karthik sing, rest all members of the group joined in causing Karan to get embarrassed and Nyonika laugh. "Guys, its nothing like that. Okay?" Karan whined. "Oh really?" Yash asked him with wiggling eyebrows. "The what is like what Karan?" Maira joined in pulling Karan's leg further. "Guys please..oh gosh!" Karan exclaimed embarrassed. "Hmm..someone is embarrassed that means something is definetly going on." Alya said giggling. "Karan, tell us, what are you thinking. Come on." Yash said laughing.

Karan rolled his eyes and diverted the topic saying, "I was just thinking that since tomorrow college starts and its also the day for getting a lot new innocent students. It would be fun to see them break our rules and we teach them who's the boss. Hence I was thinking or our new plans for them."

His attempt to divert the topic was a success. "I hope this time we get an entertaining target. Last time it was really boring." Alya commented while stuffing a small piece of pancake in her mouth.

Railway station

Two young girls in a typical Punjabi attire got down the train with their baggage. Behind them an elderly woman got down as well. A porter approached them after seeing two young girls and an elderly woman with so much of luggage. It was pretty evident that the women came from a small town and know nothing about the big city. As the porter approached them and offered to carry their luggage, the elderly woman asked how much would be charge.

The porter replied he would charge Rs.500/-, which made the elderly woman shock and angry. "500! Why is it 500!? I will give you only Rs.150/-" the elderly woman spoke angrily.
