Chapter 19: Chapter 19
Aarnav Oberio, her prince charming, has been a source of persistent admiration for Maira, who is the complete opposite in this regard. Her first impression of him was that he was quite attractive. ' Omg! Please, Maira, restrain yourself. I mean, look at him—your he's professor, dammit!'
When Aarav spoke up, her line of thinking got derailed. "I've already decided on the penalty. Naina and Ishaani will conduct a session on Shakespeare poems at our university's upcoming literature festival while Fab5 cleans the entire canteen. And for the next two weeks, Ananya will serve as Mr. Aarnav's assistant. Is everyone on the same page here?"
"Excuse me, sir," says Alya by raising her hand to interject between.
"Yes, Arav," Aarav inquired.
"Sir, I believe it's unethical that only Fab5 is subjected to physical punishment." Alya made a point of speaking her thoughts in the hopes that she would be held accountable along with the rest of the group.
"Do you think Shakespeare's poems are simple to understand?" Aarav asked her a question with a smirk, knowing the answer he would get.
"Yes, sir," she replied. " It's not labour that requires physical exertion." He expected her to respond the same, and she did.
"Instead of Naina and Ishaani, why don't you swap places with them? That's something you'll appreciate, I'm sure. Don't you think so?" Aarav poked the question.
“W-what? N-no. By which I mean-" Alya was perplexed as to how she had gotten herself into this state in the first place.
"If you don't want to trade positions, we'll just go with what was said before. Has anyone else expressed an interest in making the switch?" Aarav sharply inquired of the group of students who were gathered in a semicircle. Everyone was dismissed except for Ananya as they all stood their ground in rejection. " I need the canteen to be spotless in 2 hours, is that possible Fab5?" Aarav raised a question, As the students began to file out of the room.
Karthik agreed, saying, "Yes, sir."
Karan turned to face Ananya as the group dispersed, and he saw the trustee, Aarav Oberio, smile as he winked at the female.
'Was there a wink from the Trustee towards her?' Am I beginning to go completely bonkers? I be elieve what I observed was incorrect.' Karan tried to make sense of what he had just seen with a mini-self-talk.
"For the next two weeks, Ananya, you'll be helping me out at college. Is everything very clear?" Aarnav confronted her and demanded an explanation from her. "Yes sir," was all she could muster.
As they prepared to depart, Maira's thoughts were clouded with melancholy. 'It's a shame I didn't get that penalty. Oh! How much I would like to be in her shoes.'
It seemed as though only Alya was actually content. There were two explanations for her behaviour.
1. She received the least amount of punishment.
2. It was decided that Ananya should remain in the back. As a result, she'll almost certainly have to deal with serious repercussions.
After everyone had left and the door had been closed, Aarav greeted her with a smile and an open arms. " You should visit your brother, my baby cupcake."
She walked over to him and sat in his lap, where he placed his arms around her and snuggled against her shoulder. " It's been a long time since I've seen you, my little baby." Aarav made a sweet whine.
To which she couldn't stop laughing.
He, Aarnav, smiled as he looked at the sight in front of him and saw how precious his siblings are. He approached them and sat down on the desk opposite to her, caressing her hair affectionately. "What is this Ananya, and who does this with me?" Huh? Who is responsible for this?" He reprimanded her in a gentle, loving tone.
"They started," she said sweetly, her head nestled snugly in Aarnav's palm.
"How, just how could you pick a fight with Fab5 of all the people in the world?" Aarav asked, knowing how worse Fab5 can be.
"What do you mean?" Aarnav inquired, still stroking her hair. Showing how much he adores her for who she is: his cherished sibling.
"Exactly, baby pie, how could you?" Aarnav questioned her with a sweet tone.
"Due to the fact that they were acting like bullies. Brother, you should know that I despise bullies. I hate those people." She shot back, her gaze fixed on him.
"Aarnav, you should leave her alone. We are here to take care of her," Aarav remarked. "So, should we watch the video now?"
"It's okay if you go ahead." Ananya said, while Aarnav shook his head saying, "Look at the shambles she's made."
20mins later
Both Aarnav and Aarav cracked up laughing after seeing the video. Ananya, on the other hand, simply buried her head in Aarav's neck. Whining."
"What made you do what you did? Tell me, baby doll!" Aarnav inquired, unsure what to expect given how well he knew his younger sister.
"Did you really have to thrash them haha?" Aarav questioned, still laughing and clutching his belly.
“Yes. They're deserving of it." With a smug, she retorted back.
Both guys looked at her and shook their heads, but it wasn't out of disappointment; it was amusement.
"All right, baby doll, I'm going to check on Fab5 and their cleaning presently. I'm not sure if they did the work or not." Aarnav said as he reached for his book on the desk.
"Okay, bye-bye, little brother," Aarav said. Aarnav could only groan as he listened to Aarav's singing.
“Even I will have to leave, wait for me, Aarnav please." Ananya, who was sitting on Aarav's knee, rose to go when he said, “Oh! Where are you, going?”
