Chapter 29: Chapter 29

*Mridula Pov*

“Are you regretting?” hearing the question I immediately wished I didn’t act differently from the time I woke up.

I stared straight at him and said, “No! I am not.”

“I am glad! Ok, I will not be late today and don’t forget to have lunch with a spoon.” He said, tapping on the bandage he changed after he got ready for office.

After he left, I walked towards the garden and started pacing around. He always used to find out if I ever lie to him, but today he couldn’t.

I may be regretting yesterday’s lovemaking in the morning, but not because I really do regret, but I think I may just have to. I heard the words standing right here and still let him caressed me yesterday, but I believe him that he didn’t mean the words.

So, is it still a wrong thing? I thought, frowning and glanced at Aunty, who is having the coffee sitting in the garden.

I sat beside her and fidgeted with my hands, thinking how to ask my dilemma. Because if I think to myself, I may regret it without actually feeling like that, then my life will never move forward.

“Ask away.” Aunty’s words brought me out of my thoughts.

“What?” I asked her frowning.

“You are fidgeting, Mridula. I know you have to ask me something.” She replied, turning to look at me.

Her words just made me remember Tajwar’s words. He too said the same one day and in the same way. I shook my head thinking they must be more than similar in these simple things.

“I… I just… I don’t know how to say it.” I mumbled in the end to which she sighed.

“Forget me as your husband’s mother and talk.” She said, and I nodded before explaining her how Tajwar is taking care of me.

“I don’t know why, but I just… we just…” I stopped in the mid-sentence and, she nodded in an understanding way.

“And you regret it now?” she asked frowning.

“Not really! But I am thinking like maybe I should.” I replied in a confused tone.

“Do you believe he meant the words he said about you as true?” she asked and I shook my head in negative.

“You mean you believe him when he said he doesn’t mean them?” she asked, and I nodded this time.

“You love him? You want to make the relation stronger and not break it?” she continued to ask, and I nodded for both questions.

“Did you feel like everything is wrong when you thought about it?” she asked and I shook my head in negative.

“Do… you think he thinks about her while being with you?” she asked and I shook my head within a second confidently.

“Then from, where should you regret it? He is your husband whom you love, Mridula. As for his words, when you believe he didn’t mean them at all in your heart, then what is the need of compulsory to regret.” She said in a serious tone.

“You are leading the life as his wife, and you have to regret any act of yours if it is against your wishes or when you feel uncomfortable.” She added and I slowly nodded.

“That’s just mean I need not to regret at all.” I mumbled and she just smiled before getting up and walked away when I sat in silence.

“How is your hand now?” he asked after a few days when we lay on the bed holding each other's hand.

“Only the marks are there.” I replied, showing him my hand, which he took before pecking wherever he saw a mark making me chuckle.

“I really missed this closeness during the time we spent apart.” His words made me look at him in shock and then feel the warmth’s inside.

“No need to talk about it anymore. So, how is Aahil? Is he still just staying in his room?” he asked, changing the topic by himself.

“No! He is having breakfast and lunch with us, but not dinner. Maybe you can see him within a few days.” I replied, and he nodded before we both drifted off into sleep.

“What happened?” I asked Aahil the next day when I saw him walking inside the house fuming.

“She doesn’t want to listen to me at all. I know I did a mistake. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t listen to my apology and forgive me.” He continued babble climbing the stairs, and I followed him frowning.

“Is everything ok with the checkup?" I asked, and he nodded before entering inside his room and started throwing everything away from so many books to pillows and everything.

“Aahil!” Aunty said, walking near to his room when I called for her, and we both entered the room.

“I know that I did a mistake.” He shouted at us, and I frowned before taking all the things from the floor before arranging them properly while Aunty is scolding him to behave.

“You need to calm down, Aahil.” Aunty said after I arranged everything properly, and he sat on the bed holding his head.

When I glanced at the books, I saw that they are books, which need to be read by both parents for their baby.

He loves her! I thought, staring at his restless face and smiled to myself. However, again frowned, thinking how could he hurt her when he loves her.

“I am not doing anything anymore. If she wants to leave me completely, then it is fine by me. I give up right this minute.” He mumbled, and Aunty shook her head before leaving the room.

He is giving up? How could anyone give up on the person they fell in love with? I thought before following Aunty but moved towards the land phone.

“Hello!” I heard Dileep’s voice and smiled, shaking my head when I know he must be sleeping through his voice.

“Why are you not coming home, Dileep? Is everything fine?” I asked and heard a cough.

“Are you ill?” I asked worriedly.

“How can I trust you all women? What if you all find some better ones? Will you leave us?” he asked and I can feel he is drunk from his voice.

“Dileep!” I called again and he just mumbled bye before hanging up.

I held my head and turned to see Aunty and Uncle shouting at each other. I frowned and rushed outside the house into the garden before sitting under a tree.

What is going on around me? I thought and felt like something bad is going to happen.

But for whom? I thought and leaned back to the tree feeling the pleasantness. Why does everyone have to have so many problems in everybody’s life?

*Abhivant Pov*

I glanced up from the paper and saw Premila placing down the cordless phone down before rubbing her forehead.

“What happened?” I asked her frowning.

“This is all because of you.” She replied, glaring at me before walking outside the room.

I don’t remember doing anything stupid these days. I got down from the bed and rushed outside following her and stopped her.

“What do you mean?” I asked, and she is still glaring.

“Dileep is drunk and is behaving so weirdly.” She replied shaking her head.

“How is it my fault?” I asked frowning.

“You asked me to stay away from him, and I didn’t do anything even when he didn’t come home for the past three weeks. Now, I don’t know how he is when he is drunk at this hour of the day.” She replied, and I fumed.

“Did I ask him to drink? If he doesn’t know what is good and bad, then how is it, my fault or yours?” I asked holding her hand tightly.

“It is ours. We are the parents. I don’t think you know what is the parent’s job with your pity party for nearly fifteen years. However, that’s all I know with no husband to live with literally.” She replied pushing my hands away.

“I am, asking for the forgiveness everyday right? Do you have to taunt me?” I asked matching her voice.

“If it is reducing my pain, then I will.” She replied and turned to walk back inside our room.

I followed her again before turning her around and hugged her while she tried to push me away.

“Just forgive me, Premila. We can live happily with the time, we got left. Why do we have to waste time hurting each other?” I asked hugging her more tightly.

“I don’t think so.” She mumbled and pushed me away with full force.

“I will not get hurt again.” She added and walked away while I fisted my hands not knowing what else to do.

I need to do something by which she will just talk to me and at least fight with me so that I can make her understand how serious I am.

I need to behave worse than the mistake which I believe I did. I may hurt someone, but to correct everything, this is needed.

“Hello!” I lifted the call from the person I kept as spy at the other party.

“Sir! Seems like your daughter-in-law is going to give a speech against your son and favorably for her father. It has been decided just now a few minutes back.” He said before ending the call.

Nipuna? She would never do that. Maybe she will as she is no longer here and must have fought with Aahil too.

If I didn’t learn the lesson that living the dream is not the main thing in life, then I would go and ask Aahil to do something to stop it.

However, this appears to be a couple fight and they have to solve it by themselves. So, I think it would be better not to tell him anything about this and wait for a few days where I can push him and also Premila saying some stupid stuff.

I nodded to myself hoping it doesn’t backfire and opened the file to finish the reading. In the meantime, I called Dileep’s secretary before asking him to check up on Dileep.

I know I should pay for the hurt you got for the past fifteen years, but I am trying to be selfish and not want to waste much time for that and give you peaceful life from the moment you apologize me.

I just hope everything goes as for the plan without any side effects! I thought nodding to myself and finished checking the file.
