Chapter 47: Chapter 47

*Nipuna Pov*

“Hey!” I heard Amrin saying and glanced up to see her walking near to me with a big grin.

“Hey yourself! What am I hearing? You are engaged to Dileep?” I asked her the moment she sat before me.

“Yeah! I am still flying remembering his proposal from the past one week.” She replied, blushing a little but her face is glowing.

“I am the one who is pregnant, but look who is glowing here.” I said in a teasing tone.

“It’s not like that. I am just happy that he actually loves me back, which I didn’t think will happen and on top of that, his mother accepted me.” she said, and I smiled understanding her shock.

“Tell me about it. I returned home yesterday night, but she already showed me so many concerns which she never did all these months.” I said shaking my head.

“I heard this week that you went home and even Aahil followed you there.” She said staring at me.

“It feels like a romantic thing when you use the words like that, but it was not like that. He stepped out of his line one day and showed me a mirror in which he could never trust the baby to be his or even trust me. I left, but he came last week saying he wants to be in baby’s life.” I explained.

“He was so rude on the exhibition day.” She said, shaking her head and explained when I stared at her in confusion.

“They were about to fight?” I asked her not believing the words.

“Yes!” she replied, and I explained her a little about the bet not going into details making her understand that he didn’t mean those words.

“Your art was a hit and the same day I got the members asking you to talk about it and come to a contract to do the exhibitions for them, but with full payment.” I said the reason for which I called her here.

“There is no pressure, by the way. You can say no.” I added, smiling at her.

“I will consider about it. But it will be good if I accept as we will be closer right? After Dileep, I am close to you in that family and then with Mridula maybe.” She said smiling.

“Don’t take a decision based on that.” I said in a serious tone.

“I forgot to thank you.” She suddenly said, making me frown.

“For what?” I asked her not understanding.

“Dileep said you kind of scared him that I am in a thorough process of thinking about others who will definitely respect me and forget him as he doesn’t respect me. He said that is kind of scary moment for him. So, you kind of helped him in a way helped me.” she explained, and I sat stunned.

“There is no need to thank me, Amrin. I am glad for you. No one is lucky to have the person they love to love them back.” I said, and we left after talking more.

“It is already afternoon and you are roaming outside?” I heard Aunty asking when I stepped inside the house after a small walk in the garden.

“I…” I trailed off not knowing what to even tell her even after a few days of seeing her behavior.

“I will give her some water.” Mridula said saving me and then Aunty walked away.

“What happened to her?” I asked Mridula still not adjusted to her behavior.

“I don’t know!” she replied, looking away.

“You know!” I said accusingly.

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” she said walking away, but I know that she knows everything as she is not a good liar at all.

“There is someone here to see you.” Mridula said walking inside the room, and I frowned at her words but followed her slowly placing the book aside.

“Dad?” I asked in a shocked tone seeing him sitting on the couch.

“Please don’t tell me you are here to blackmail them.” I immediately added, seeing only Aunty before him and no one else returned home at all.

“I thought of visiting you and see how you are doing.” He replied and I stilled in my stance, but moved towards the couch and sat before him.

“Oh!” I mumbled, not knowing what else to say.

“How are you? Are you feeling alright?” he asked and I nodded at him.

“I… I will leave.” He said getting up.

“Have some tea.” Aunty said, pouring him some and then glanced up to see Aahil and uncle entering the house.

“This is a surprise.” Aahil whispered, walking near to me.

“Tell me about it.” I whispered back and saw both Uncle and Dad shaking their hands and then sitting down together.

They both started talking awkwardly and then finally went into pace. Now, they both seemed like they are long lost friends.

“It is getting late. I will go now.” He said getting up.

“Why don’t you stay for dinner?” Uncle asked smiling at him.

“No! Some other time. Take care of yourself, Nipuna.” He said smiling at me while placing a hand on my head and walked away.

“Why are you crying?” I heard Aahil asking, and I looked at him in shock.

“I don’t want to cry in front of everyone.” I replied staring at him.

“Ok!” He said getting up and helped me to my feet before we started walking toward the stairs and started climbing them.

“He was really here.” I mumbled to myself sitting on the bed.

“Yes! He must be feeling alone with nothing to do.” He said rubbing my feet.

“I shouldn’t have made him retire right?” I asked him feeling guilty.

“If you had not, then he would have no chance to live his life normally. You did him a favor, and he will get used to this finding, some other thing to do.” He explained.

“He needs not to live for considerable time alone like that. After a few months, I can stay with him, and the baby will be there too.” I said sighing.

“What do you mean?” he asked frowning.

“I am not taking away the baby, Aahil. We both will have equal custody, but I thought of staying here for a few more months, even after the baby is born as it cannot be taken away from me and be with you here. I will even move to the guest room.” I replied assuring him.

“I don’t understand! I thought you gave me a chance.” He said in a shock tone.

“Of course I did! I am not going along with the deal. You will have equal custody. Are you not getting my words?” I asked him frowning.

“I understand that we are getting custody of our baby equally, but what about our marriage?” he asked staring at my face.

“I… we can’t stay together in this unwanted marriage just for the baby, Aahil. We both deserve happiness to be with the person we love.” I replied in a low tone.

“You love me, right?” he asked, moving to sit beside me.

“Yes! But it was before, and I do not know right now. When I know that you can never return the feelings, I have started backing away.” I replied, lying to his face, but I still love him the same.

“But I love you.” he said so simply like he is saying he is a guy.

“You don’t!” I mumbled stopping the hope trying to come outside.

“I am not lying. I love you, and I do not want this marriage to end.” He said in a determined and soft voice.

“I am not lying about the custody, Aahil.” I said in a stern tone moving away from his hands holding my face.

“Why can’t you believe that I really love you?” he shouted, making me frown at him.

“I don’t think so. You don’t trust me but here you are saying you love me. How can I trust you to really love me and this is not for the baby? Because I am sure of your love for it.” I shouted back and immediately sat down feeling a strong kick.

“Are you alright?” he immediately asked, moving beside me in the next second.

“Baby is kicking very strongly now.” I replied, rubbing my stomach while taking deep breaths.

“You are nearing to finish eight month. You need to be careful.” He said moving his hand to mine.

“And I think our baby didn’t want us to fight.” he added, making me laugh and lean into him.

“Let’s not talk about any of this now.” I mumbled, turning my head to stare at him.

“Sure!” He mumbled brushing his lips to me and kissed holding me to him with such a passion that I felt an urge to accept his declaration, but I do not want to hurt ourselves later by doing that.

“We need to go for dinner.” I mumbled after a few minutes, placing my hand on his shoulder.

“We can eat here.” He offered, but I shook my head.

“No!” I said, smiling and stood up while he followed me, placing his hand around me to make sure I am alright.

“Dileep! We didn’t think you would be here at all.” Aahil commented, but Aunty didn’t say anything to him.

“I wanted to spend some time with all of you.” Dileep mumbled, but he is not looking at any of us.

“Are you alright?” I asked him frowning.

“Yeah!” He replied, but just had his food before walking away.

Everyone left to go to their rooms, and I made Aahil to leave too without me so that I can give the company to Mridula while she made sure everything is cleaned. It is better than helping her and increasing her work.

We both heard a moment and turned to see Dileep walking inside the house from the garden to where he left after dinner.

“For someone who is here to spend time with all of us for sure knows how to escape.” I commented before he could reach the stairs making him still there.

“What do you mean?” Mridula asked in a confused tone.

“Something is wrong and your friend, here is hiding it from all of us.” I replied, folding my arm's hearing, which he walked near to us and lifted his head with which we saw his red eyes.

“Amrin broke up with me.” He said, staring at me.

“What?” I asked him not believing his words.

“She broke up with me today evening.” He replied, but just stared at us.

“Not possible!” I mumble remembering how Amrin glowed just talking about how Dileep loves her and how he proposed. She was literally flying in the air like she mentioned.
