Chapter 27: Chapter 27

*Nipuna Pov*

I woke up groaning and rubbed my eyes feeling like I just got ran over by a truck. I shook my head and remembered what happened yesterday and then glanced beside me at the empty space.

I remember him waking me up in the early morning and saying he needs to leave now after giving me his number. He even made me lock the door so that no one else will enter the room.

I patter the paper below my mobile and crumbled it with the anger at myself for having a one-night stand for the first time in my life. If it is not for the anger at some people, then this wouldn’t have happened.

However, I cannot fault anyone except myself. I yawned and chose to leave the house before anyone questions me.

I got inside the car and dialed the number to make few people learn the lesson for doing such disgusting things.

“Where are you, beta? You are fine right?” I heard the sound of my dad’s bodyguard.

“I am fine, uncle. But you have some work to do.” I replied and explained him about the spiking of cold drink I got subjected to.

“I got their mobile phones with me while hitting them. You just need to get them punished before they do this to someone else.” I added to which he promised before I hung up.

He is my dad’s bodyguard from the time as much as I can remember. However, he took time to help me with protecting myself, and he cares for my welfare, which I will never forget no matter what happens in my life.

I entered the house and started walking towards the stairs, ignoring my dad sitting at the dining table. However, he had to clear his throat to make me stop my moment.

“When did you go out?” he asked making me roll my eyes.

“Yesterday night!” I replied, not turning around.

“You were out the whole night? What were you thinking?” he shouted and I sighed before turning around.

“Then what were you thinking before pushing my boyfriend away from me?” I asked him back raising my eyebrow.

“What? Is it still about that guy? It has been what a whole three months?” he asked, shaking his head in disbelief.

“When you didn’t care for me when I was a kid and when I need my father, then how can you come forward now saying whom I should date and whom I should not for your political career?” I shouted at him before turning away and climbed the stairs to reach my room.

“Hello!” I barked when I got a call.

“Are you still angry on us?” I heard my best friend Chaitra asking.

“What do you think? How are the bride and groom, Chaitra? Did you guys even click photos?” I asked her in a sarcastic tone.

“He is our friend, Nipuna.” She replied sighing.

“Yeah, right! He dated me for one year and is marrying another girl within three months after the break up. On top of that, this is a love marriage and you all guys went to attend it. I am so happy right now.” I shouted fisting my hand.

“Your dad asked him to stay away, Nipuna.” she said raising her voice.

“And he is not a kid to get scared by a parent.” I retorted.

“Ok! I think you need to calm down because you are not angry because he broke up with you. You are angry because he let your Dad win something.” She stated and I closed my eyes.

“Yes! How dare he do that? And I am even angry for falling in love with someone else so soon. He should have waited for a few more months.” I said whining before leaning back on the bed.

“Leave it! Now, tell me where were you yesterday?” she asked and I groaned because I really didn’t want to remember how stupid was I yesterday.

“You will hate me.” I replied and told her what happened.

“You idiot!” she shouted, and I nodded from this side because I am.

“I know! At least, I will not meet him again in my life. I even threw his number away thinking I may wish to meet him again.” I explained.

“You would wish to?” she asked in surprise tone.

“Yeah! There was what they call a spark otherwise, why would I go that far, even in that vulnerable state. However, I do not want any spark in my life right now.” I replied sighing.

“Maybe you should have saved his number.” She said teasingly, and I chuckled before hanging up.

“Next Sunday my friend will be here for dinner, and you should attend it with me.” Dad ordered when I took a bite of my dinner.

“Another marriage proposal?” I asked him raising my eyebrow.

“Whatelse? You are escaping them for one year and now there is no need to. Meet the guy and tell me whether you will marry him or not.” He replied not even looking at me.

“You are a girl and you need to go to some home. Start learning the things to do at In-law’s house. Learn something about the political things to be able to not blind in your In-law’s house.” He just continued and I couldn’t bear in the end, so I punched the table, ignoring the pain in my hand.

“Give this kind of speeches at your stupid political meetings, but not here.” I said glaring at him before standing up.

“We are in this to serve the society.” He stated shaking his head.

“Really? Then tomorrow I will bring you few plans with which many orphanages and old-age homes will get good help from the government. Will you pass them in your party?” I asked challenging him.

“You do not know about these things.” He said gritting his teeth.

“Just remember one thing, Dad. I will never, I mean never, go into another political family. These years of experience are enough.” I said with nothing remained to be discussed and walked away to my room.

I will ask the cook to put some more salt and spice in his food tomorrow, stopping him from saying this kind of things again.

Future with a political person? I thought, shaking my head. If it happens then, I will die within a few years like my mom without knowing my children too. Is she worrying and feeling sorry for leaving me so soon when I was a kid?

I think she got saved from my dad’s mental torture, and that is fine with me. I thought sighing before drifting off into sleep.

*Aahil Pov*

I woke up only to close my eyes again thinking I maybe still at the party and not at my room. I shook my head remembering leaving the party house after making her lock the room but even kissed her.

Did I do a wrong thing by leaving her like that? I thought, frowning, but then remember someone would have taken photos from somewhere if I didn’t leave soon before sunlight.

I rubbed my head and got down from the bed to freshen up before someone comes to wake me up. I shook my head hearing the as usual argument between Dileep and Mom.

“She got herself involved in this marriage after knowing everything. Do not look at me like I have done a wrong thing.” I heard Mom’s voice.

“I am sure that you have done a right thing.” Dileep said, hiding the sarcasm and looked up when I neared them.

“Did you go to another party yesterday, Aahil?” Mom questioned me.

“Mom! I am not a kid.” I replied, rolling my eyes.

“We know that, but you too need to know about it. You are working in the political career, and you will achieve it soon, then why do you want some black spot over your career.” Dad asked me before Mom could say anything, which is not a surprise for us.

The leading party lineage is enemies for our lineage, which makes my dad think they are enemies to us. So he has more interest in how I am doing than anything in this world. He thinks it will be a problem for us if the leading party stays the same in Maharashtra.

“The enmity has gone along with your ancestor's Dad. You are taking these old thing's way too seriously.” Dileep said looking at Dad.

“Someone has to take something in a serious way right? What are you doing with your life? Is making money or intimidating the people around you is the only aim in life? And those relations of yours. Those just make me feel like I should get you married before Aahil.” Mom said, standing up and Dileep followed her suit.

“Just like how you did for Tajwar Bhai right against his wishes?” he questioned her and their spat stopped, and I glanced up to see Mridula stepping out of the kitchen with a maid holding the tray of breakfast.

“You were here?” Mom asked her frowning.

“Yes! I have been seeing for the breakfast to be prepared.” She replied.

“He left for the mining in the early morning.” She answered Mom’s unasked question looking away.

“This is not what he should be doing, Mridula. You are here to make sure of it.” Mom started her evergreen words, and Dileep walked away while I held my head.

“Ok, Aunty.” Mridula simply said before placing the food on the table.

“Where were you until early morning?” Mom asked making me choke on the food.

“Friend’s place!” I replied, shrugging remembering the girl.

“Be careful, Aahil! If this time there is controversy about any other girl, then it will ruin your career.” Dad said in a hard tone.

“Dileep has so many scandals that even magazines are needing to add more pages to be possible to fit. Then why are you behind me about that one incident even after these two years?” I asked them with frustration.

“Because of your career! A business man is different, but a politician needs to be good for the people.” He replied, and I shook my head.

“I know what should I do to be good at this.” I said, standing up and walked away checking my mobile to see any message from Nipuna but, there is none.
