Chapter 73: Chapter 73
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
"Why are you hiding me here?" Namjoon barely whispered as Seokjin carefully tried to laid him down the ground, leaning against the rock. He looked around the forest, squinting his eyes weak eyes. "And where are we?"
He scanned the surroundings as Seokjin dropped on the floor with a loud sigh in relief.
"There is where I last hid Ha Na." Seokjin bluntly replied, releasing a loud exhale as he positioned against the rock beside Namjoon. "I hid her with those dried leaves three months ago when we escaped."
"What happened, hyung?" Namjoon's voice cracked, his chest tightened in devastation. He bit his lips from preventing to hiss, feeling the burning sensation at his back that was caused by Seokjin's stabbed a while ago.
Gladly, if he wasn't a vampire, he'd be dead by now.
"She was so sick, and I was going to come back with her..." Seokjin paused, choking his words and looked down. "But then it has been three months."
Namjoon just stared speechless at Seokjin who was already wondering about Ha Na. Where is she? Did someone took her body? Did it decompose? It's impossible.
There ain't no sign of any bones around nor a smell of dead body around, and there was a slight hope in Seokjin, believing that Ha Na is still somewhere out there, maybe saved by a Samaritan.
"However," Seokjin leaned away from the rock, glancing at Namjoon. "What really happened three months ago?"
Namjoon gulped down his saliva, eyes waver when Seokjin tried searching his gaze.
"You've probably heard something from the guards right?" He asked, pressing his upper lip with his thick bottom lips and receiving a nod from the elder.
"All of them are true." Namjoon replied nonchalantly. "From imprisoning Jimin and Hoseok to killing both the princess and Taehyung."
Seokjin didn't know what to say, he knew those things already. He heard it from the nosy guards who kept on gossiping about the palace's situation. The elder looked down, sighing in disappointment but he didn't want to younger to know—of course, he was devastated over everyone's death and what the kingdom has now. He was there when he witnessed the kingdom fall to its pit of fire and hell under Kim Namjoon's ruling in just a span of three months.
The kingdom itself has fallen to its own darkness yet no one could rise it up again—Taehyung isn't there anymore.
"But I didn't kill the princess." Namjoon blurted out making Seokjin jerked his head towards him.
His eyes widened in surprise, heart palpated with anticipation as he stammered "You d-didn't?"
"I didn't." Namjoon nodded, eyes locked with his gaze. "I gave her a chance."
"What chance?" Bewildered, the elder asked and glances remained not wavered at all.
"A chance to escape the palace." Namjoon answered honestly, remembering the flash of image he got months ago. "I think her destiny has something to do with Taehyung."
"Her destiny?" Seokjin yelped, eyebrows quirked before chuckling bitterly. "And what about Taehyung? If the Princess has something to do with his destiny, then there's no use of her destiny now."
Namjoon closed his eyes before muttering. "I didn't kill Taehyung."
"Tae is dea—wait. What?"
"How could I kill the person who saved me?" Namjoon chuckled as he remembered how Taehyung saved him back then from his parents. He was a human, suffering from lung cancer and his parents neglected him, leading her condition to be deteriorated. If it wasn't for Taehyung, he wouldn't have the chance to escape from the grasp of his parents and be able to live longer.
Namjoon's expression softened. "A silver sword couldn't kill the Kim Taehyung."
"He didn't die?" Seokjin squeaked, still overwhelmed by everything.
"Everyone was too stupid to realize that the strongest vampire in history wouldn't die with that little contents of silver spreading his body."
"But w-why?"
"Why what?"
"Why didn't you kill him?" Seokjin shuddered. "Like aside from that reason. Why didn't you completely kill him?"
He added, astonished. "Is it because you forgive him already? I can see it in your eyes, Namjoon. I know how much you regretted everything."
That was how Namjoon became silent, as well as Seokjin who waited for him to talk.
"Namjoon..."
"It's because I know that he will be back to the throne. He owns the throne from the very start—it's in his destiny." Namjoon quickly answered in a low tone.
The elder's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Knowing that he'll be back to the throne, why didn't you back out from coveting the throne?! It will get you killed!"
"Me imprisoning you to the dungeons, imprisoning Jimin and Hoseok in their bedrooms and putting Taehyung's body in the ice coffin to keep his system alive was part of my plan, hyung."
"What?"
"I locked you inside the dungeons because I know you wouldn't be able to leave me just like Jimin and Hoseok did." He held back his tears, and looked away from Seokjin.
It hurts Namjoon to the core of his dept. Everything and everyone was hurting him. His own destiny was hurting him. His whole existence was hurting him.
"I was confident that you would still stay with me." Namjoon almost whimpered while Seokjin was completely dumbfounded and flustered.
"And you did." Namjoon gave a forced smile. "I know that no matter what I did, you and Taehyung will still forgive me."
Seokjin pressed his thick lips into thin line as he continue to watch Namjoon with his eyes moistening.
"It's my destiny as well, hyung." Namjoon smiled weakly.
Three days—that's what the witch estimated for Taehyung to wake up. She watched as his body laid down on the comfortable bed she prepared for him, the bed he and her will share soon—as a wife and husband.
As a Queen and King.
The witch's expression softened, approaching Taehyung as she sat beside him with a smile playing on her lips. She lifted her hands, fingertips trailed down to the bridge of his nose down to his unique form of lips, eyes scanning his handsome features. She couldn't wait how the man would react once he will see her again. She couldn't wait for the man to belong to her again.
She gently placed her hands on his torso as she slowly transferred a little bit of her internal energy to the man, and Taehyung's chest rose up and down indicating that he received the energy very well.
The witch smiled at him, adoring her sight. "Three more days and two nights, only then will you be able to wake up."
She smiled, sneering to herself. "You will be mine by then."
She leaned forward to kiss his forehead and pulled away before slowly gliding it down to his nose, pressing a soft kiss. She slide her lips down a little bit, meeting his lips—only a few centimeters away and their lips would already touch.
Her eyes flickered to his lips but just let out another giggle before lowering herself down, resting her head on Taehyung's torso with her hands laid flat as she inhaled his lovable scent.
Of course, she couldn't forget the Kim Taehyung's scent.
The scent that she utterly missed for a thousand years already.
It was scent that she would never ever forget in her entire life.
