Chapter 53: Chapter 53
CHAPTER FIFTY ONE
Taehyung opened his eyes as best as he can, and ended up opening half of his lid while glancing at Jimin who was shaking. He saw the broken expression of his best friend. He saw how conflicted Jimin is right now, and with that, all Taehyung could offer was a reassuring smile.
"Jimin-ah." Taehyung tried to call his best friend, also in attemp to comfort him, and Jimin snapped his head at Taehyung, eyes quiver in fear, and lips parted as he glanced at the frail person.
"K-Kill me." Taehyung stammered, whimpering with the Princess shaking her head violently, not wanting to lose her brother. "This w-way, I could repent a-and repay my s-sins of killing Hanisha before."
Taehyung smiled—perhaps he did really kill Hanisha. Maybe, it was his fault why Jimin became this way. He was the one who intercepted the two innocent humans' love story before. But if Taehyung were to say anything, he wouldn't regret any of that. He didn't regret every single thing from meeting her to loving her. He found and knew what is love.
The only thing that he regretted was ruining the two of them by separating them because of the seven deadly sins he committed at that time.
It was his greed that motivated him to separate both of them. Too greedy for his own good, and wanting to own her—all by himself.
It was his pride that ruined the human lovers to the depth of their core. He is after all a vampire—he cannot be defeated by a human.
It was his lust that turned their destiny upside down. He craved for her scent and body, he couldn't deny that.
It was his gluttony that made him hungry for her, wanting more of her. He needed more than just her body—he needed her love.
It was his behaviour as a sloth that led both of them to their death. If he was quick enough, he would've saved them.
He was envious of their love story. He wanted to experience human feelings too.
It was his wrath that made his own best friend finally turned his back against him and despises him even more.
It was due to his anger that his mind was clouded by getting Hanisha from Jimin before.
Maybe because of all of these, he was being punished. Just maybe, he wasn't destined to be with his soulmate, and that destiny is just playing with him.
Jimin watched the princess firmly holding Taehyung in her arms. He could hear the princess pleading for him not to die, not to leave her and live. Jimin was surely broken and in pain. Part of him wanted this because he has been longing for this before. However, now that everything is happening, he suddenly wanted to back out and pray for it not to happen.
But he wanted this.
He needed this.
He needed to kill Taehyung in order to have Ha Na.
Namjoon threw the sword in front of Jimin, landing on the floor. Without any hesitation, he bent down and grabbed the sword. He walked towards Taehyung with tears on his eyes, slowly lowering it down to point at Taehyung's chest.
At this point, Taehyung didn't harbor any hatred towards his best friend but rather grew love deep inside his heart. Taehyung pushed the princess away from him with his little strength making the Princess slide away from him. He supported himself with his elbows as he sat on his knees to meet Jimin's sword, pointing right into his heart.
He looked up at Jimin, abruptly trapping and gripping the blade with his hands, a single tear fell off his cheeks. Jimin was startled by his actions.
"Kill me." He breathed in, repeating those words.
Jimin blinked twice, eyes meeting Taehyung as he replayed their memories of friendship together in his mind. He shook his head, hands trembling as Taehyung gripped the sword even more.
"It's okay, Jimin-ah." Taehyung tried to soothe his best friend, wanting him to know that he won't regret any decision. "Everything will be okay."
Jimin tried to pull the sword away but it left Taehyung even more use his strength to trap the sword in between his palms.
"Taehyung-ah! Let go!" Jimin whimpered but Taehyung didn't give up. Instead, he pulled Jimin towards him resulting the blade to slightly penetrate the flesh of Taehyung's skin.
"Taehyung!" The Princess and Jimin cried out as Taehyung coughed a little bit with chest oozing, and palms gushing out of blood.
Jimin immediately pulled the sword away as Taehyung collapse on the floor. The princess immediately went towards the former King, crying for him.
"N-Noona." Taehyung stuttered, choking out his words, lifting his hands to touch his older sister's cheeks. He truly missed her. "I'm sorry, J-Junsoo noona."
He still felt guilty for throwing her out of the palace. But it was the vampire's law to separate the princess once the Queen has finally appeared. Taehyung had to follow that and it was the first time he was away from his elder sister that time, living alone and scared inside the palace. His sister has always been his only female companion when Hanisha died.
No one could understand Taehyung as much as Junsoo understands him. She has always guided Taehyung to the right path, although there are times that he would disobey. Hence all of that, she would still love, respect and care for her own younger brother. They are after all blood related and inseparable, having the same flesh and being born in the same womb.
Jimin stared at Taehyung with wide eyes, feeling his chest aches in pain before he finally made his decision.
That is to kill Kim Namjoon.
He turned around, pointing the sword at Namjoon who was behind him the whole time. Namjoon didn't even flinch, not that he was surprise, and just chuckled. Why? Remember that he has the ability to know destiny. He knew this would happen. That Jimin will betray him and Taehyung will be the one to kill him.
Namjoon jumped towards Jimin, stealing the sword by harshly gripping the blade of the sword with his own hands—just like what Taehyung did, in just a span of milliseconds. He was surely fast compared to the others.
Droplets of blood dropped out of Namjoon's hands before looking at Jimin.
"Don't you have anything new?" Namjoon chuckled, smirking at Jimin.
With his bloody hands, he took the blade away from his body as he gripped his own sword. Jimin, without hesitation, attacked the older leading a bloody and messy challenge towards each other.
With Namjoon's strength, it was too exhausting for Jimin, and the elder purposely did that to tire out the young Duke. They were fighting here and there. Hatred grows towards each other started to grow even more.
"You don't even have Ha Na so how would I know that you would give her to me?" Jimin spat bitterly while gripping the sword in his hands, giving out a heavy panting.
"I am capable of finding Ha Na in just a matter of seconds, Jimin." Namjoon scoffed, rolling his eyes and was seriously mocking Jimin by not even letting out an ounce of tiredness.
Would he believe Namjoon? He would believe so, knowing Namjoon's strong abilities, he could. But Jimin couldn't betray his best friend.
He can't do it.
Taehyung who in the other hand watched everything but he cannot hear what the two of them were saying. He saw how Jimin was already exhausted, and he knew that Jimin couldn't compare and compete with Namjoon's strength and power alone. Taehyung knew he had to help his best friend.
"Namjoon!" A voice suddenly yelled out making the two Dukes halt.
