Chapter 43: Chapter 43
CHAPTER FORTY ONE
After Jimin's conversation with Taehyung, he went to Seokjin who was the most caring, and the only one he can trust as of the moment while Taehyung's words still replayed his mind and he couldn't believe what he just heard.
Jimin's eyebrows furrowed, wondering. Seokjin hyung has a child? When, and from who? Don't tell me it's from—no! That's impossible! There are too many things running inside his head from Seokjin, Namjoon, Hoseok and Taehyung.
Sighing, he pushed the door open, revealing the eldest Duke inside the room and reading a newspaper with his glasses on. He was too engaged by what he is reading right now that he didn't notice the younger.
Seokjin didn't bother to move an inch until he heard the door cracked revealing Jimin who was heavily wounded as the younger flinched when he realize he just disturbed he elder. The elder's eyes widened at the sight and immediately speeds towards the wounded man.
"Just what did they do to you?" Seokjin hissed, supporting Jimin at the back while he gently guided him towards the bed, making sure not to touch or hurt him at all cost. He somehow felt petrified by the sight because how could they do this to a Duke?
Jimin sat at the edge of the bed and watched Seokjin grabbing some medicine kit before pressing the medicine to Jimin's each open wounds which made him hissed in pain.
"It's fine." Jimin smiled reassuringly, pulling Seokjin's hands away from the wound. "Ha Na just treated it yesterday."
"Even so." Seokjin said sternly and continue to apply making Jimin flinched at every touch. "That was yesterday and if we don't get medical attention, it might worsen the wound."
"Look!" The eldest pointed at a certain wound and a whine came out of his mouth. "This is swelling and almost pus are coming out! The other wounds will soon be infected."
"We're vampires, hyung." Jimin chuckled bitterly. "It's not like we're going to die from a simple..."
Jimin stopped midway and frowned thinking of Elisse again. Vampires die if someone will bit them to death or from objects with silver contents penetrating their heart. Hence, he was sure that he just left Elisse who was barely unconscious on the floor and not dead. He even made sure that she was still alive. But why all of a sudden was she dead? Even everyone doubts the situation and Jimin wasn't that kind of person to kill unless it's Taehyung's property and Ha Na. He was bound to put Taehyung's patience to end anyways.
"Jimin?" Seokjin trailed off as Jimin hummed in response. "I'm glad you're finally out."
"Me too, hyung." He muttered and the eldest could feel the guilt in his voice.
"Jimin, don't blame yourself." Seokjin sighed and pulled away. "I'm sure you didn't kill Elisse."
Jimin’s chin quivered as he let out a shaky breath. "How would you know that hyung?"
"You're not that kind of person, Jimin. Although you could be ruthless for everyone opinions." Seokjn chuckled slightly, trying to enlighten the mood.
"But didn't everyone blamed me for Hanisha's death as well?" Jimin closed his eyes as Hanisha's death replayed his mind and Seokjin froze at the sudden question of the younger.
"You didn't kill Hanisha, Jimin." Seokjin's words comforted Jimin but he still couldn't deny the pang of guilt inside his chest that has been aching for a long time—a very long time at that.
The eldest Duke chuckled nervously. "No matter how many times I tried to erase your memories about her, you still managed to remember her at the end. Wow, isn't that what you call true love?"
Jimin chuckled with sourness. True love but not soulmates.
And Seokjin swore he heard the bitterness of words Jimin thoughts.
"Isn't that your speciality as well, hyung? Making me forget about everything, every single day?" Jimin cracked a sad smile.
(a/n: remember when Hoseok asked jimin if he would like jin to forget his memories? where jimin dreamed?)
Seokjin nodded and smiled. "But Jimin, even if everyone denies, I know you two were destined, because you two fell in love with each other first."
Jimin just hummed.
"You may not be soulmates by destiny, at least you could be soulmates by love." Seokjin softly said but the next sentence triggered him making him whimper. "And remember, I was there to witness the day when she died."
"I know..." Seokjin bit his lips, trying not to be nervous around Jimin. It was true, he was there and witnessed how Hanisha died, and everyone knows about it.
But he couldn't reveal what really happened that time. He couldn't tell everyone the truth and only Hoseok knows as he was there to witness the scene too, but unsure if Taehyung knows about it.
Seokjin couldn't help but feel remorse of his actions. He has sinned and he wanted—no, he needed to repay Hanisha in her next life, and this is it, Hanisha's reincarnation has appeared. This is the time that he will repay her as Ha Na.
I'm sorry, Jimin. You could've been with Hanisha by now. It is my fault, not yours. Seokjin sighed as he watched Jimin falling into a complete silence.
Jimin, do you really love Ha Na for who she is? Or do you love her because she resembled Hanisha?
While Jimin was too preoccupied and eventually left the room after being summoned by Taehyung again, Seokjin couldn't help but recall his memories before.
He reminisce the time he found love, how he was turned and saved by Taehyung, and how he witnessed Hanisha's death.
FLASHBACK (1,000 YEARS AGO)
Seokjin's eyelashes flattered opened as he blinked twice to get a clear view of the person hovering him. It was his wife.
A smile appeared on his lips as his hands travelled to tuck a hair behind her ears making his wife giggled, sending melody to his ears. Oh how much he loves his wife's giggles and laugh.
Although their love was forbidden by everyone, at least they came to love each other, and still intact together even though the world turned their back.
"Jinnie..." His wife's voice sent shivers down to Jin's spine as she laid on his firm chest.
"What is it, baby?" Seokjin asked, feeling his heart beat again—on how close his wife to him. Even after many years of being together, she can still make the man's heart go wild.
"I wanted to tell you something..." She chuckled again, and Seokjin raised his eyebrows as he tried to sit up, bringing his wife to sit up as well. He grabbed her hands and stared at her eyes.
"What is it, my love?"
"I'm—" She was about to say something until a loud bang echoed throughout the forest making both of them jolt up from the bed.
They got outside the small cottage house they are currently living, and to their surprise and fear, they saw a massive pack of wolves approaching them.
"It's father.” Seokjin's wife whimpered and trembled as Seokjin laid her behind his back. His wife clutched onto his shirt.
"Go inside the house or get yourself out of here!" Seokjin panicked but his wife resisted and continue to gripped Jin's shirt. He turned around and grabbed her shoulders.
"But Jinnie—"
"I can take care of this, alright?" Seokjin calmly said as he pulled her in a tight embrace before putting a kiss of her forehead. "I will talk to them."
His wife nodded and got inside the cottage. Seokjin sighed, and a worried expression plastered on his face as his heart pondered against his ribs.
"How dare you live in with my daughter?" Seokjin turned around to see his wife's father, the King of the wolves, growled. "A royal at that?"
"Sir, please let me explain." Seokjin stepped forward but the other wolves growled at him making him flinched.
"You know that a werewolf cannot be in a relationship with a human, right? I warned you about that but you still dragged my daughter away from us." Her father's voice yelled in anger and Seokjin was beyond terrified.
He is a human and the man in front of him is a werewolf whom humans believed to be a myth, when in fact they exists. However, no one knows about the wolf's clan until Seokjin encountered one of them and that happened to be his girlfriend for years.
"Give me back my daughter." The old man hissed, and Seokjin's eyes widened and his heart skipped a bit, feeling like it will come out any second now.
Nonetheless, Seokjin's fear didn't stop him from pulling out is brave self and shook his head. He promised that he will take care of her, and married her to live their life together for eternity. They even promised from the Heaven's above. He promised his wife that they will forever live together and love together without any barriers even if they have to live inside a tent or a small cottage. They wouldn't mind as long as they're together for all they know.
And the next thing that happened, growls and howls echoes through the entire forest before the King of Werewolves started to attack the human in front.
Seokjin's eyes widened in horror as his mind instantly told him to run, in which he did. He didn't know where to, and tried to divert the attention of the pack of werewolves who are now running after him. But it was too late, his wife's father is way fast for Jin.
He attacked Jin from behind making him stumbled, and the human squirmed under the wolf who was constantly trying to bit every places he could. Eating him out alive as tears fell down his eyes.
Seokjin's eyes landed at his wife who was supposed to be inside the house but followed him to where he is.
'Go away' Seokjin mouthed as the old wolf scratched his chest with the sharp claws. His wife shook her head, tears were streaming down and was about to approach him but was dragged by someone.
Seokjin's lips trembled as he just waited for the wolf to completely kill him while his teary, blurry eyes fixed to his wife running away with someone. He closed his eyes and images of him and his wife played in his mind.
The images of them laughing and spending their time together.
The images of them when they first met at college.
The images of them having their first date and first kiss.
He was reminiscing every moment he had with his wife and even the way he touched her soft, tanned skin. He couldn't forget his wife's smell and how his movement goes along with hers.
He waited for another pain and that never came, making him open his eyes. The wolf wasn't in front of him now. He tilted his head to the side and saw someone fighting against the wolves. It was one person against a pack of wolves.
That's when Seokjin started lost consciousness.
