Chapter 80: Chapter 80

CHAPTER 37

Luke's POV

Rocky and I lay on the floor, soaked with sweat and blood. Luckily, we both were still alive. I couldn't bring myself to take a life.

"Your mistake was taking her away from me." Rocket says, taking deep breaths.

"True. I was terrible to Natalie, but you did worse. You stole her peace of mind and happiness."

"You did that too." He responds, as we lay there, in the dark.

"It's different— she was happy and had moved on. You might not believe it but she loved me more than she did you. You ruined our happy life."

"I'll admit, I tried to win back Natalie, and I will never stop doing that until I die, but Natalie and I never were intimate after your marriage. I never saw her naked to say the least."

I pause, shocked to hear his words. It seemed like he was telling the truth. "You were under the same roof.”

"Sure. But Natalie never let me touch her. I did forcefully kiss her, but she pushed me away and slapped me. She never cheated on you, at least, not with me."

I frown, my blood boiling as I hear his words. They kissed. "The child."

"The child is yours, because that baby isn't mine. Last I had sex with Natalie was on her birthday. That's about two-three years ago."

"You're lying."

"No, I'm not. Deep down, I know you know that I'm not." He responds, and I almost breakdown. I close my eyes, burying my face in my palms. I feel cold. I had been wrong all this while. I knew Rocket wasn't lying, but why didn't I trust Natalie when she told me repeatedly that the baby was indeed mine?

"You must feel like shit, huh? You missed your son growing up. The kid is big. Your ego was your undoing."

I get up, ignoring his words. I couldn't describe what I was feeling. I can feel tears coming out of my eyes as I find my way out. My phone rings. I breathe out, trying to suppress the pain and agony I was feeling. I pick the call. "Yes. You found her?”

"Alex." I say, as he takes my call. "I'm at a loss for words."

"This is the first time you've called me first, Natalie. I'm elated."

"Heh. You're a bit strange. First, you cut the call on me and go MIA for hours and the next day, you send a lawyer to my home, with documents, splitting half of your possessions with me. I don't know what to think."

"I'd give up anything to have you as my woman, love. Anything."

"Thank you. However, I want you know that I wanted only C.I. I've never been interested in your wealth. I'm wealthy enough."

"I know you are. I don't care what your motives are, or what your goal is. I would happily let you walk all over me. Gladly."

I take the phone off my ear and look at the phone, worried. What the hell? Who even talks like that?

"Thank you again, Alex. We should see tomorrow so we can talk about all of this properly. There's something I must tell you."

"About? Can you tell me now?"

"The um. . . the 12 months thing? You know what, tomorrow, okay, Alex? I'll send you a text. I need your help tomorrow too. Goodnight."
