Chapter 70: Chapter 70
CHAPTER 27
Finally, after a year and a few months, I had returned to Carrington manor. The downpour had begun. Thankfully, Louis was fast asleep.
"Do you have an appointment, Miss?" I hear, as the window slides down. The man gasps. "M-Mr-Mrs Carrington." I chuckle.
"Do I need an appointment to get into my house, or will you let me in?"
"I'll have to confirm from Mr. Carrington first, ma'am."
"Don't you think he'll be pissed you didn't let me in? You'll end up losing your job, you know."
He looks scared. "There are so many cars."
"Six cars aren't so many, are they?" I respond, and he nods. He rushes back to the gate, and in a matter of seconds, the gates open wide. I drive in and the remaining cars follow behind me. I pick my umbrella . "Ashley, did you bring Louis’ stroller protection?" She mouths a yes. "Okay. I need you to bring the stroller out and put him in it. Be careful, don't let the rain touch him, please. There's an umbrella with you, right? Delores, please help her."
“I’ll just carry him.” She says, and I nod.
I get down, opening my umbrella. The security team has come down already. Lydia's walking towards me. She arrives. She nods, holding my hand. We wait for Ashley to round up with Louis. Louis is covered up properly under the umbrella, I can't even see his face.
"Shall we?" I ask Lydia. We walk towards the entrance. I ring the bell, then I open the door. I didn't need to show any manners, especially not with the people I was about to deal with. Plus, this was my house. I enter, alongside Lydia, Ashley, Delores and Louis, alongside two of our security men.
Laurel is approaching us, a frown visible on her face. I subconsciously notice that she's dressed similar to how I used to when I lived in the manor. I scoff, as I take in her appearance.
"Don't you just love walking into trouble? You know, if you're harmed right now, it would be totally justified. Who even let you in? I'll be sure to fire him before the sun sets."
"You talk too much, Laurel. Go, and get Luke down here." I say, looking around the house. The house had changed. The paintings had been moved. The angel antique pieces had been moved to the other side of the wall. They were formerly above the fireplace.
"How dare you walk into my home and be rude to me? And who are these clowns you brought with you?"
I giggle. Lydia speaks, "Clowns? Hey, maid girl. I'll snap your neck if you harass me or my friend. Shouldn't you be cleaning the floor? It's wet." I laugh at Lydia's comment. Laurel frowns.
"I'm not the maid. I'm expecting Luke's child! I'm the lady of this house. Luke and I are engaged too!" She says, raising her fingers.
"What's all the fuss about?" Luke arrives. He was shirtless, dressed in just sweatpants. I look away. "Luke, honey, please they're making me and the baby scared. Throw them out!" I hear Laurel say.
"Lydia. Natalie." Luke says. I look at him. He looks at me, and looks at Ashley and Delores. His eyes fall on Louis.
"What are you doing? I feel threatened, Luke. I don't feel comfortable having my baby around her." Laurel says, holding onto Luke's arm.
"I think Luke here, has a knack for keeping things from you. I mean, the first time, he didn't tell you that I owned majority of C.I, now, heh," I chuckle. "He didn't tell you that this," I say, pointing around the house, "Belongs to me now." She looks at me, confused. "Bull crap. Luke, are you going to throw this whore out?!"
"Don't call her that!" Luke says, and I look at him, stunned. She shrieks. Lydia and I look at each other, shocked. "She's not lying. She owns the manor now."
Laurel staggers. "W-what? What are you saying, Luke? How does she own our home?"
"My home!" I yell, correcting her. "This was never yours, and it never will be. I need you both to get out of the house, now."
"I'm not going anywhere!" Laurel screams at me. "This is Luke's house! This is going to be my son's house!" She screams, running her hand through her hair like the crazy person she is.
"I'll gladly have my security throw you out then."
"There's no need for that. Laurel's pregnant, so can we stay till the rain subsides?" Luke asks me. He looked tired. He hadn't shaved for days and his under eyes were dark. His eyes were tired.
"No. Get out.” I say, looking away. I walk forward and sit on the couch, crossing my legs. "In addition, I own whatever is in the manor. I hope you remember, or you didn't just sign without properly listening. I asked for the manor and everything in it. That includes the cars, your clothes, money, jewelry — everything."
"You won't let us leave with our clothes? Can you hear this woman, Luke?! You're a monster!"
"I don't care what you have to say, Laurel." I say, walking close to her. "I just want you to get the hell out of my house or else, there'll be consequences. If anything happens to either of you, I can't help it. You're on my property." I say, saying her words back to her. She shoots daggers at me with her eyes, and gladly, I return the gesture.
