Chapter 133: Chapter 133
TRISTAN:
I used to love Samalah in my younger years. I dreamed of a future with her too, but I see that the future she wanted with me was too far from what I had imagined.
“Are you mad? You wanted to overthrow the royals of Talandor in order to replace them?”
“Why not,” she retorted, her long eyelashes playing its seductive tricks. “You and I could conquer their world! What better way of revenge could there be?”
“No! That wasn’t what we have planned… This wasn’t what we agreed on.”
Samalah and I had planned to take down the king and his men. We wanted to expose their crimes and have them be stripped off their powers, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that Samalah wanted something more…
“Isn’t it a better plan? You are born to be an alpha, Tristan! You are born to be a ruler! Don’t you want to get what’s yours? Don’t you want those who killed the Shadow Runes to kneel down at your feet?”
“And how about Dahlia? Where are you going to put her in this equation,” I asked exasperatedly. “You said we can get rid of her once our revenge was over. We would send her somewhere far off. Is that still part of our plan, or are you planning something else too?”
“Of course, that’s still the plan. Once they extract the spirit stone from her, you could do what you want to her… You could make her your bed slave. She won’t possibly be able to refuse you…”
Samalah leaned closer towards me as she said this, her lips brushing to my mouth. She was very enticing…
“And why is that?... Why won’t she be able to refuse me?...”
“Just as you saw earlier, I put a curse on her… If she so much as refused any of our biddings, she’ll die, and the good thing about it is she doesn’t know it yet… It will be a slow death from the inside, Tristan!”
“So how about it, Tristan? You and I could make her do any favors if you want it, including sexual ones… Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
Samalah had a maniacal look on her face. Was she telling me the truth?
“Whatever you put in her, take it back,” I roared, putting a hand over Samalah’s neck.
Instead of being frightened however, she smiled even more.
“It will be the full moon soon, and the rogues here will come into heat… I’m sure they’ll like the present I will prepare for them… Dahlia won’t be able to refuse it!”
I put more strength into my grasp around her neck. She gagged, but the crazed look on her face never disappeared. I threw her on the floor in disgust.
I picked Dahlly up in my arms. She was still sleeping soundly despite the skirmish that happened in the cave.
Was Samalah being truthful? Did she really put a curse on Dahlia?
Blast it, the full moon was just two days away!
“You’d pay for this, Samalah,” I uttered before I turned my back.
“Let’s see, love…”
I quickly used my magic to envelope Dahlia’s body in my arms and make her invisible just as I was. When everything was set, I took her away from that hellish place.
I was able to smoothly exit the cave, but the moment I stepped out of the cave, a silver net descended upon us, and I saw myself face to face with the rogues.
It was a trap!
“Shadow wolf, hand over the girl to us, or you both die!”
I’m not sure if I was still invisible in their eyes, but even if I wasn’t, I would rather be dead than to give Dahlia back to these idiots.
“Never,” I screamed.
“Then, we have no other choice. This will be your death bed, Shadow wolf!”
The moment that he spoke, the vampire leader attacked my face with a spear. I hugged Dahlia inside my chest even further, and bravely faced his attack.
Arthur opened his snout and crushed the spear into pieces with his jaws, then, at the same time, I used my flame power to turn the silver net into ashes.
I could feel blood drip out in between my teeth. The material of the spear was no joke, but I will never go down without a fight, especially when Dahlia was involved!
As soon as the net turned into fine ash, the rogues started to attack me on all sides, biting at my flesh, their paws tearing at my fur.
But I was no ordinary wolf, and Arthur’s fur was not an ordinary fur.
As soon as their claws and teeth sunk into me, the rouges were burned up.
My flesh was aflame! I made sure I roast their tongues and paws until nothing remained!
They yelped in pain as they drew away from me. Seeing an opening as they parted, I ran deeper into the woods with Dahlia still clutched at my chest in my half-wolf form.
When I was sure I had lost those idiots who were running after us, I stopped for a while and peered at my mate.
She was still fast asleep and unharmed. In fact, it took a fairly long time for Dahlia to stir in my arms.
While I ran with her in my arms, I was preoccupied in thinking what kind of curse Samalah had put on her body. Was it a simple bidding curse, or did she embed a cursed object into her?
If it was a bidding curse, then the effects would just be a one-time thing, but seeing how Samalah spoke in a sure and precise manner, I doubted that’s what she had used…
She was kneeling towards Dahlia’s body earlier, so it was more likely that she embedded a cursed object inside of her – possibly in her belly, right?
If I take her to a healer, would it be possible to perform a surgery and take out the cursed object? So far, that’s the only remedy I know of for curses of these kinds…
It wasn’t until Dahlia uttered my name that I was brought back into reality.
“T-Tristan…”
“Shh… Don’t speak. Save your breath. We will have to go somewhere else.”
“What? Why?...”
“That thing inside of you. - we need to go get it out.”
Dahlia’s face turned pale. Did she know she had been cursed?
“That thing,” I explained. “It will hurt you. You better remove it from your body as soon as you can while we still have time.”
As soon as I said this, tears began to stream down on her face. She thrashed about and began to kick me.
“N-No, you can’t!”
Did Samalah tell her a different thing, or did Samalah trick her into making a vehement resistance against my requests so that Dahlia would positively die?
Knowing Samalah, she could really do that right?...
“I can,” I shouted. “I can, and I will! I swear to the Moon Goddess, I’ll remove it, even if you hate me for the rest of your life!”
I didn’t know it was going to be the start of our war.
