Chapter 613: Chapter 613

"Aaahhhhh..." A terrifying ripple swept across the Anta Mountains as though ten thousand wailing spectres shrieked. Everything in its surroundings was altered. Threads of rain dripped from the sky, and the scenery around grew blurred. A thin gauze of watery mist fell over all surfaces.

Different factions raised their heads across the Anta Mountains, staring toward one spot deep in the range.

More precisely, they were looking at one point within the Rainy World. The instant Black Rain Manor descended, an immense special domain had engulfed the Anta Mountains. Physical coordinates in the surface world no longer mattered.

In the woods, on the clearing around a hunter's cabin.

The First General King, Shadow Crane, charged forward as a faint layer of Qi swelled around his body to form a fitting shield.

The chill black rain was repelled from his body and trailed behind him as a visible pale mist. It looked like a soft cloak. On both flanks, four other General Kings, each with a different yet equally dangerous aura, darted through the rain.

Farther back, the elite experts under the General Kings followed. They were all hardened through battle. Clad in black leather raincoats, they moved nimbly through the forest. Their gazes swept left and right, constantly scanning the surroundings. At the first sign of danger, they would deal their fiercest blow!

At the east side of the Anta Mountains, inside another constructed resort manor, pair after pair of crimson eyes snapped open within the pitch-dark grounds. Viscous, almost black blood spread over the lawns and paths, and the rain could not thin it in the least. Jet black coffins floated up atop the blood.

The coffins stood upright with a clunk as their planks splintered away. Old nobles with ghastly pallid skin, sunken features, and bat-like fangs stepped out. They wore gorgeous aristocratic garb and immaculate hair that should have bespoke elegance and composure. However, they only exuded bloodlust and evil.

An elder high-ranking Blood Race stepped out from his coffin, followed by another high-ranking Blood Race. A wave of Alphama direct bloodline Blood Race, half-man half-bat, charged out of the manor. They were like a crimson flood sweeping everything away in front of them.

"Our True Progenitor of Blood... What we need lies inside Black Rain Manor. Depart and spare nothing!"

Elsewhere, the Eclipse Society too was moving, and their commotion was anything but small. The ground quaked more underneath the colossal Moon God statue than it would beneath a heavy tank column. Eclipse Society members with a muddled yet fierce aura of dark creatures surrounded the giant statue.

The only faction acting cautiously was likely the Totem Temple. They had come to the southeast coast seeking sincere cooperation with the Ripple Order. Yet to their shock, the Ripple Order was nowhere to be found. Even the channels between them were severed. This text is hosted at novel(ꜰ)ire.net

Totem Temple could not reach the Ripple Order. Even envoys sent to known outposts found them deserted. As such, Totem Temple had to enter the action alone. Totem Shamans ran through the woods with dense markings on their bodies glowing with energy.

"Totem King above... Our Totem Temple will surely be the final victor."

The righteous neo-human alliance formed by White Tower also entered the Rainy World. Moreover, those among them whose hands bore Black Rain Manor's mark received special treatment, or rather, the manor's instinctive rules favored them. One black carriage after another appeared in the forest; wherever they rolled, a road extended. Rocks, streams, and trees all shifted aside to make way. It was truly mysterious.

The neo-humans, or rather, the new generation of marked-ones chosen by Black Rain Manor, climbed aboard and headed straight toward the heart of the manor! The sheer number of carriages naturally formed a black convoy.

They held only the alliance's powerhouses. These included the White Tower leader, the Psychokinesis Association president, Silver Gun Soro, and others. In short, all were fairly formidable experts. This time, every A-class righteous neo-human had gathered. They were set to be the first to arrive after the manor's revival.

Clip-clop, clip-clop...

Dull hoofbeats echoed as Magician Bass sat with Shockwave in a carriage. He lifted the curtain and looked outside. The scenery was no longer the immutable forest of the Anta Mountains but eerie hills. On the road's left lay a carpet of white blossoms while the right side was pitch-black as if scorched by fire, with occasional flecks of ash drifting around.

Soon, the scenery shifted to a bizarre and almost nonsensical scene. Strange people, buildings, statues, and a flock of sheep outside the window behaved like evil ghosts. It felt like an illogical dream that struck the heart with disorientation. The idea of death, secrecy, gaudiness, and madness layered with religious metaphors made one profoundly uneasy.

In the convoy, some neo-human experts seemed to break some kind of taboo for unknown reasons. The evil ghosts struck them in a flash, hauling them out the windows with invisible hands. The blood trail vanished quickly to either side of the road.

In one carriage, Silver Gun Soro’s eyes narrowed. "How dangerous. A B-class expert was dispatched so easily..."

He was seated beside the White Tower leader.

"According to precious data from prior generations, you must never touch or violate Black Rain Manor's fundamental rules. Otherwise an unimaginable punishment will befall you, and you can't escape even to the ends of the earth. You must use subtle, roundabout means to challenge the manor, exploiting its own logic and rules. If you rely on force, you would only be courting death..." The White Tower leader spoke slowly, a cold smile on his lips.

He felt no pity or regret for that B-class neo-human's death. One couldn't stop a death-seeker; stupidity was the surest death warrant. Only calmness and wisdom would count in the game with Black Rain Manor. Power ranked third after those two.

Suddenly, a series of explosions came from one side of the road. The eyes of the White Tower leader and Silver Gun Soro snapped that way to find a two-storey-tall armored stone statue blasted away, wrapped in moonlight.

It whistled through layers of air and slammed into a bizarre chapel by the road. The white cross of the chapel flashed as if to unleash awful energy, yet the light film burst like a bubble with a crisp pop before it formed.

The statue's huge weight crashed into the ground, revealing the aftermath. No chapel remained, only a vast sunken pit. Broken boards and stone scattered at the rim seemed to narrate the ruin's misery.

"Rooooar!!" A rocky giant hand gripped the edge of the pit, causing spider-web cracks to spread across the ground. A towering six-meter stone figure shot up and stomped down, shaking the land like an earthquake. Its massive outline, shrouded in dusky rainwater, exuded dread.

The statue then turned to face the distance.

A ten-meter-tall Moon God statue suddenly emerged from the murky rain. It looked slender and somewhat anthropoid compared to the thick stone figure. A steel skirt flared at its waist; one pair of five-meter-long arms was clasped before its chest while another pair raised high overhead. A floating moon-disk glimmered faintly behind it. Light from all directions gathered like ribbons into a moonlight waterfall. It radiated terrible power.

Whoosh, boom! Whoosh, boom!

Beside the statue, six or seven more hulks plummeted from the sky, gouging deep craters amid the tremors. They too were stone statues, confronting the Moon God statue at a distance. A suffocating sense of imminent volcanic eruption swept over all.

In the carriage, Silver Gun Soro's eyes widened in shock. Enormous beings were always the most visceral source of fear, especially when such giants appeared unnaturally agile.

The White Tower leader forced himself to sound calm. "T-these must be some kind of monster born of Black Rain Manor..."

In truth, he had no idea what the two immensely strong monsters were. The prior generation's records mentioned nothing of them. However, since they were in the Rainy World, they should belong to the manor.

Silver Gun Soro pointed outside. "Then why are those bizarre ghosts rushing over to fight them to the death?"

They saw the swarm of oddities along the road charging toward the statues. Buildings itself even sped up, bulldozing forward.

Hiss... Bang, bang, bang!

The Moon God statue raised its moon disk, which instantly spewed shining lunar rays like a bomber. Those white lines, soft as silk, howled forth and exploded on the ground. The multitude of Rainy World oddities rushing it were like clutter on a tabletop as they were swept clean by the whistling moonlight. Only smoking black craters remained.

The stone statue did likewise, pounding the oddities with its colossal fists. Each blow held no mercy; the brutal force was irresistible, like playing whack-a-mole. Every gathered oddity was slammed into the earth, popping with a faint crack.

"Uh..." The White Tower leader opened his mouth, lost for words.

"Maybe these Rainy World freaks are killing each other?" Soro offered, rubbing his chin.

"R-right, probably killing each other..."

He hadn't finished when something else occurred. Humanoid figures suddenly emerged in the rain. They moved incredibly fast, skimming across the ground like swallows through rain. The remaining oddities were instantly killed in their wake, leaving only corpses behind.

Afterward, these people split into two camps that confronted each other. Tall, burly men in uniform black garb moved behind the stone statues. Their frames were powerful and their eyes vicious.

A domineering "Golem" character adorned their backs. Opposite them, humanoids in priest-like vestments stood behind the Moon God statue. An aura of calamity swirled around them.

"Golem Sect! Are you meddling in Black Rain Manor affairs too? You're opposing the Eclipse Society! The Moon God will punish you!" The leading priest warned.

Chaos erupted among the Golem Sect members at the Eclipse Society's words. Some battle-drunk fools spouted outrageous remarks.

"What bullshit Moon God! You dare challenge Golem Sect's decisions? If you want to die, just say so! I'll grant you a quick end!"

"This so-called Moon God of yours is that statue? Heheh, non-human with four arms yet oddly aesthetic. Hehehe... whether it’s human or non-human, I'll fuck them both the same! Tell your Moon God to show up—Or I'll fuck you instead!"

That thoroughly enraged the Eclipse Society. Brutal figures slammed into one another, launching a bloodthirsty melee.

The neo-human convoy had moved on, yet the carriages still rocked violently from the clash, numbing their occupants' rears. Fear, horror, and anxiety toward the unknown filled every heart. Who were these people, and how were they so powerful?

Moreover, they seemed unrelated to Black Rain Manor. They were simply outsiders who had barged into the Rainy World to fight!

In the carriage, the White Tower leader stared blankly, at a total loss.

"Something's wrong, completely wrong!"

Clearly what had just happened was beyond his comprehension. It shattered his calm facade and his mind was about to collapse. Black Rain Manor's revival seemed to have drawn more than one foreign mysterious force.

All these forces were extraordinarily strong and utterly unrestrained. Their every act made it clear they cared nothing for the manor! They ravaged the rules, yet the manor appeared helpless...

Suddenly a huge shadow covered the entire road. The White Tower leader craned out of the marriage to see, high above the clouds, a vast bird headed straight for Black Rain Manor. Its frightful outline was like a moving continent!

Powerlessly, he uttered his third question of the day doubting reality.

"What on earth... is that..."
