Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Maya knocked on Xavier's door before she could talk herself out of being there for the very man who had insulted her for basically looking out for him.
"I'm just trying to be a friend__" she muttered to herself while she waited for him to open the door.
She swallowed when he finally did that. He had come in some minutes ago and as she stared at him with wide eyes, she found herself regretting her decision to come some minutes after but there was also the risk of him falling asleep if she had waited longer.
On his waist was a little towel, which allowed her make out the sexy V of his waist that inspired her to "mistakenly" tug his towel down and see where it leads to.
His hard abs made her nipple underneath her thin tank top become taut like pebbles as she could feel her body reacting to all of him.
She bet her mouth was slightly apart as she imagined going down on his body, while licking those abs of his which still had droplets of water rolling down the rock hard structure and flicking her tongue on his nipples.
His hands were holding a little white towel which he used in dabbing his damp hair while his eyes were raised at her, his face amused.
The bastard purposely set her up. He wanted to seduce her, she thought averting her eyes from his body and staring right at his face she placed her hand on akimbo watching him.
"Kitten," he drawled having a lazy grin on his face that almost tempted an involuntary moan from her mouth.
"All you have done with that serious pose is just show me how hard your nipples are, how much you want my tongue on them, how you want me to lay you flat against my bed and bury my face in between the valley of your breasts."
"Stop saying nonsense and get dressed. Meet me at the balcony once you are done," Maya mumbled walking away fast from his room hoping he didn't notice the desire and lust in her eyes, how hard she breathed and how wet she became but judging by the chuckle she heard as she left for inside her room, She knew it was a wish that couldn't be granted.
He came out a few minutes later with a smug grin and thankfully clothes too, Maya thought.
"Didn't know you can't construct coherent words when you are next to a half-naked man." He teased making Maya raise her eyes in disbelief.
"You weren't half-naked. Apart from that thin layer of a towel, you had on, if you had just turned a bit faster or made an uncalculated move you'd have been naked instantly."
"Would you have liked that?" Maya blinked, not sure they both would recover from the genuine answer to that question.
"I need us to talk about what happened on movie night. Before we proceed I just want you to know that I won't stand for that, you can't talk to me like that ever again. It was disrespectful, it was degrading and I won't take it from you."
"I don't even forgive you if you did." He gazed at her, "I'd no excuse for what I'd said. I knew it was hurtful, wrong, and yet for some reason which are selfish and completely wrong I still uttered those words, words that made me sound so much like him__"
She moved closer to him, "Xavier you are not like him,"
"You didn't grow up with him. That is exactly how he'll talk to my mom in front of his billionaire friends and then they'll laugh and discuss how women need to be put in their place."
"Jesus, I don't need to grow up with that despicable man to know you are nothing like him," she cupped his jaw making him look at her, "In all honesty, it wasn't my business at all__" he tried to argue but she shook her head.
"It wasn't in my place and boundaries are something I need to start respecting in this relationship of ours__" she paused, "Or whatever this is."
"But I don't want you to have boundaries. I like it when you look out for me. It feels nice."
"It is also overbearing and suffocating Xavier and you don't need to tell me all that for me to know my interference was not needed. It was a family issue. And you are not your father," she voiced out looking at him with worry in her eyes.
"I know that because though I don't know Mr. Dominic, I know you Xavier and you are not disrespectful to women. Not at all."
He groaned, "You don't know me, Maya, I'm not untainted as you think."
She held his gaze, "You ain't the devil either because if we stare at it real hard, who is untainted. We are all fucked up people trying to act like our life is going great while it is not."
"I have a gaping ugly non-alluring past, a whore mother but that does make me a whore? Does that stop me from being less Maya?__"
"This sermon will actually be more convincing if you believed it yourself."
"I do. Just that, I'm a work in progress." Maya said flipping her hair backward and winking at him.
He chuckled then sobering he held her hands, "This is more than just being a son of a scum. I had to watch my mom make up excuses for my dad all my life and it had disgusted me to be that man who can't take responsibility for his action, who piles it on someone else," he caresses her hair, "And watching you this past few weeks," he closed his eyes not able to continue, not able to say the words.
She smiled, "It felt like you were your dad?" Her voice was a tiny whisper but he heard her.
He nodded then smiled wryly, "Funny that I wanted you to stop acting like my mom and decided to communicate that to you by acting like my Dad,"
"You need to understand that nobody's life is patterned to just fit two life mold. Your mom and dad's, Xavier. I am my own person with reasons why I act up in a certain way. This might not be real," she continued waving her hands in the air at the chaos just a little lie had caused, "But to the world, I have some certain responsibilities towards you and __"
"You shouldn't go out of your way to make excuses for me because the tabloid expects you to be a certain kind of person because__" Maya placed a finger over his mouth making him gasp in surprise.
"Fuck the reporters Xavier," she moistened her lips, ignoring the way his eyes followed that movement, he leaned in, "I care about you Xavier and it might be crazy, hard to believe and__" she released a dry cackle that was supposed to be laughter and then looked him in the eyes, "That is probably the second crazy thing I've done after the stupid one nightstand idea," she paused smiling, "And my bad ideas mostly are more alluring and always have something to do with you,"
Xavier chuckled, she joined him and within minutes they were batshit laughing with tears rolling from their eyes.
They had no idea why they were laughing like that, but whoever had an idea for what they did anyway.
