Chapter 17: Chapter 17
Maya dropped the hair stretcher on the sink examining her handwork on the mirror.
Her hair was straightened out flat and let to fall without restraint. Her lips were covered in red lipstick, she also applied mascara on her lashes.
She starred at her short leather skirt, a bit skeptical about her choice of clothing. But remembering she was going to a club, she decided to indulge a little.
Her red crop top helped balance everything out, she reasoned. It was a turtle neck and she wasn't showing off her cleavages at least.
She was internally grateful that the girls had gone out with some girls at work, else they would have certainly remarked on her dressing and be curious to know who she was going out with.
The last thing she wanted was her housemate's malicious matchmaking, she love them so much but when they set their eyes on a task they could become overbearing.
Her doorbell rang, immediately she slipped on her ankle boots. She checked her wristwatch impressed. He was so on time.
~Guess he wasn't tardy even though he was the playful type she thought as she opened the door smiling at him.
He reeked of sexual appeal in his crazy blue jeans, white Tee shirt, and his signature bad-boy leather jacket and sneakers.
He made an exaggerated gesture of checking her out.
"Can we get some firefighters please because someone is on fire." He whispered.
She rolled her eyes at his cliche comment though still smiling.
"You look good." She complimented as he handed her a bouquet of fresh cauliflowers.
She raised her brow in mock surprise.
"Wow, this was unexpected. Give me a flower on a club date." She jokingly commented.
"Don't get ahead of yourself and imagine things. I am just a gentleman, so don't get all flattered." He jokingly replied.
"I wouldn't dare." She solemnly said then smiled.
He laughed.
She inhaled the flowers briefly and turned, dropping her purse to change the already dying flower in the flower pot.
Tyler followed her inside looking around.
"Nice place you have got here. It is beautiful." He complimented.
She smiled her back facing him.
"Trust me the choice of decor was not my idea. And you don't need to act like you don't hate the fact that our sitting room looks like a glitter princess vomited on it." She stated, inwardly cringing at how much pink and glitter Jessica had asked the interior designer to use.
She turned towards him.
He had a gloomy and serious air around him.
It felt so foreign seeing him like that, because to her Tyler was a name she associated with, liveliness, energy, joviality ~ He was like the life of the party.
"It has a feminine touch. The pink and all. It just brings memories back. Nice ones though." He whispered, a wistful look on his face.
She held his hand.
"I think someone is out there to give your life that colorful touch." She stated.
He sighed and almost like she imagined it, the sad look was quickly replaced with a smug grin.
"You know normally this is the part where we are supposed to have a quickie before leaving." He commented waggling his brow suggestively.
She laughed, shaking her head. It felt good to have this Tyler she was familiar with back.
"I think it's time we get out of here."
He groaned.
"More sexual innuendos, now that would have sounded better if we were heading to your bedroom."
She chuckled even more.

Xavier rolled his eyes as his phone kept on beeping continuously.
He peeked at the caller ID groaning.
The guy just wouldn't budge even though he had told him times without number that if he calls and he (Xavier) doesn't pick up on his first call, he is either really busy or doesn't want to speak to anybody.
And now, the case was the latter as the look on Maya's face when she came back to the office haunted his thoughts.
She had avoided eye contact with him the entire day and when his hand had accidentally brushed against her's while handing a file to him she had visibly recoiled as his touch irritated her.
Instead of feeling fulfilled that he had made his point and put her in her place, he felt like a big stupid loser.
The phone stopped beeping. He sighed grateful that the fool had gotten the message, but that was momentary as his phone started ringing again a minute later. Agitated, he picked his phone accepting the call.
"Look if you are trying so hard to get fired, I think you should call me again and that would do the trick." He snapped.
"I am so sorry sir but this is important and it is about the lady you told me to follow." He breathlessly replied no doubt scared of Xavier.
He paused, sitting up.
After James had come back with nothing on Maya's background, no childhood pictures, no hometown, no pre-school information and all he was able to dig out was a picture of her and her foster parents who had taken her in when she was 14, he became suspicious.
The only possibility of her just existing without any childhood collaboration even from an orphanage only meant that she must have painstakingly hidden it and she must have done that expertly if his best informant couldn't find anything on her.
So he had assigned one of his boys to keep an eye on her.
"What about her?" He asked his anger diffusing.
"She is in your club."
He cursed under his breath wondering what his little kitten was doing in a club. They had met in a club and he knew that she and clubs don't mix well and worse he didn't want to imagine her hitting on another guy the way she had with him.
The thought of any opportune bastard taking advantage of the moment upset him.
"And she is with someone." He whispered scared already knowing that he was angry and his last sentence would add to it. And it did, as the thought of her with someone else did the trick finally pushing him over the edge.
He hurled the glass of vodka he was drinking against the wall. One of his housekeepers scurried in with a mop and a broom. They were used to him throwing things around the house when upset so they don't even bat an eyelid when he does it these days.
He grabbed his keys and headed for the "D Exquisite" club determined to get to his kitten before any bastard does.
He didn't acknowledge Stacey his favorite call girl who was all over him immediately he alighted from the car.
As he entered the club, all the bouncers rushed to greet him.
He cursed under his breath not liking the attention they were drawing on him. He wanted to use the element of surprise as an advantage on Maya and he needed to see her first to do that, not the other way round.
He walked into the VIP section since his man had confirmed was their current whereabout. It wasn't hard to find her in her outfit.
"What was she thinking wearing that?" He thought aloud annoyed.
Angry that every straight man was starring lustfully at what was his and even more he didn't want to begin to imagine the dirty images and perverted thoughts conjured in their heads.
His trouser tightened as he kept on watching her.
"This leather skirt would be the death of me." He whispered harshly as the provocative image of him thrusting into her with the skirt bunched over his waist was all he could visualize.
Her turtle neck only tempted him further with its conservativeness since he was aware of the perfection underneath it. Even though it was meant to make her unholy skirt a bit prim it added to the temptation as it showcased her endowment since it was skin tight. Her full breast was a glorious exhibition.
She was laughing at something the bartender said while stroking her glass of alcohol.
And it was taking all of his self-control not to haul her over his shoulder and take her home then fuck her till she would certainly be limping back home. The perfect punishment for looking so enticing.
He fisted his hands on his side as he saw Tyler.
He whispered something to her and she laughed, she fucking laughed! Out loud a sound she never produced with him he thought.
She whispered back into his ear then putting his hand on her waist with a slight intentional playful sway of her ass she allowed him to lead her to the dance floor amidst other sweaty regulars who were either dancing or dry humphing too drunk to care.
In anger, he watched as Maya ground against Tyler. His anger almost combusted as he held her waist.
She was his he thought and before he could rethink his action he was already walking to the dancefloor in quick strides.
Tyler was tugging her hair as she twerked rubbing her ass against him repeatedly. He tore Tyler's from her body aggressively and just so he gets the message accompanied it with a punch.
He chuckled hard infuriating Xavier even more.
"It was about time you showed up." He commented winking at him.
Xavier narrowed his eyes at him wondering what baseless point he was trying to prove by intentionally setting this up.
"Stay away from her." He warned eying Tyler.
"Who called the meanie here?" Maya asked pouting.
Xavier stared at her just noticing that she was wasted.
Her eyes were glassy, her cheeks were flushed from being so drunk and she was almost slurring but damn she was still the prettiest girl in the room.
Her hips were still moving in rhythm with the music, her generous full breast swaying confirming that she was gone. The Maya he knew will not be dancing after the first punch he gave Tyler, she would be freaking out.
