Chapter 144: Chapter 144

I'm so Glad I found you

Xavier had spent hours the night before, going over this particular moment, all he could say to show his sincerity, to truly express his love, how to react, and what to do but as he knelt in front of Maya watching her eyes shine with such pure glee his head suddenly went blank.

He looks down at himself thoroughly amused, "I know you have had more proposals than an average girl and crazy enough from the same guy and that should have been enough warmup for me to now say the right things, make you swoon and luckily forget what an idiot I am and trick you into saying yes but all I can say is that this time I'm sure. I can see now. Somehow, I have always known my ring belonged on your finger not only because you have shown me so much light than I could ever imagine but you're the best thing that has happened to me and you make me laugh when I don't even feel like smiling. I'm so sorry but I'm thankful for your cheating boyfriend, grateful for your ridiculous decision to hit a club rather than go home, but in all, I'm so glad I found you." Melissa cooed while Jessica smiled leaning into Alex who was sitting on a barstool, "Isn't it funny how you proposed time apart so we could figure out what exists between us because according to you everything had happened fast but time apart from you only showed me how bleak and unfulfilling my life would be without you. So forgive me if I'm ranting and nothing makes sense but all I'm trying to say is that I don't want any time apart, I don't want to figure anything anymore without you. Marry me and I'll spend the rest of my life figuring out how to be the perfect man for you."

Maya sniffed, even as she nodded.

"Yes?" Xavier asked. Fear in his eyes and disbelief.

"Just put the damn ring on her finger before she gets any wiser and dumps your ass." Melissa hollered from the background jokingly even as Xavier slipped the ring into Maya's finger.

"Thank you," he whispered hugging her, "Thank you."

"I love you," Maya mumbled holding onto Xavier, still feeling the buzz of how fast everything had happened and how it seemed almost surreal but nothing felt more real the moment she met his eyes, she could tell he knew, has known for a long time.

Nobody mattered at that point and the background was blurred because in that minute they could finally see what they were, who they could be together. Split souls with one heartbeat that have found each other. They were home.

Maya smiled, as an Arianda Grande song she bet from her prepared playlist for road trips that Xavier had constantly taunted float across the room while her eyes were feasted on the canvas in front of her. The scenery. The cityscape she couldn't decide if it looked more splendid at day or now, at night. Watching the traffic light, street lights, and noise that came with being in an urban settlement and particularly all the buzz that came with NYC intermingle and fill her senses.

They had just gotten back from Melissa and Brian's wedding in Florida, and Maya smiled as she remembered how Melissa had yapped non-stop about planning her wedding now hers was done when Maya had finally managed to get her on the phone although that was short-lived as she had heard disturbing noises that she didn't at all wish to share with Xavier that had made her hang up quickly, telling herself she had brought this on herself repeatedly for calling a couple on a honeymoon.

She didn't at this point know if she still had a job in Boston because the last time she checked Xavier was bribing her boss with a contract he had been pursuing for quite some time and also partly threatening him to fire her. Yes, fiance of the year! Though she couldn't help but understand the need that consumes her too to spend as much time as she could with him. Every second. Every minute. She stared at the ring on her finger that still seemed a bit unreal as the thought of forever crossed her mind.

She felt strong familiar hands holding onto her waist as her body came to flush against Xavier's even as he hugged her from behind while Sam Smith Oasis now played in the background.

"What are you up to?" He huskily mumbled in her ear.

She turned to meet his gaze still not believing that the man in front of her, wanted her, loved her, needed her even, and was going to get married to her.

She stood on her toes even as she leaned against him wanting to kiss him but groaned in frustration as he stared ahead looking completely clueless well except for the little taunting smile that graced his face which quickly morphed into a chuckle as Maya held onto his T-shirt, yanking hard at it and when he looked down at her in shock, she stands on tiptoe and threading her hand on his hair closed the distance between their lips.

Their lips met. Once. Twice.

He tried to walk away but Maya had anticipated that. He was slowly getting good at walking away from all her approaches which were completely now unacceptable to her.

"What do you want?" His forehead was against hers and her hold on his hair didn't budge.

"I want you... Now," she whispers against his mouth.

Her body shakes as she looks up into his eyes, desperate lust in her eyes that terrified and exhilarated him. He was giddy with the thought that he wasn't the only one who wanted this but the thought of knowing he could lose control at any time since he always loses the ability to think when he was next to his temptress of a fiancée didn't appeal to him.

He wasn't in any way in the right frame of mind to be the good guy and walk away when things get too steamy or out of control, he wanted her wandering hands that were now all over his body, liked their skin that was now flushed against each other, needed this heat and friction their position provided more than was normal.

He crushes her mouth with his, trying to warn her, make her back down, assure her she wasn't ready for what she was trying to attempt, as he ate her breath, and sucks her lips hard, she whimpers.

And when he thought she was going to back down, she was kissing him back. A challenge. A flare of reckless desire. Matching his primal need.

And because he just didn't know how she did it but he couldn't keep control with her, he sticks his hand under her shirt filling his hands with her plump tit as he now had her back pinned against the cold pane of the windows, with her legs hanging at both sides of his waist.

She moans, turning her head left and then right, biting and kissing his mouth in a frenzy as she reached down for his joggers and teasingly loosens the ropes, and sticking her hand down she grabs his cock.
