Chapter 1 Happy birthday

Beep!, Beep!, Beep!

"Ugh!!", I groan in annoyance of the machine that sends me to my doom!

I move my hands around attempting to shut it off without removing my head from under the covers resulting in me knocking it off. Great, I think to myself, perfect way to start my birthday. Note the sarcasm.

I huff in annoyance while getting out of my comfortable bed. I begin cleaning up my now shattered alarm clock. Turning on my phone to check the time seeing that I have exactly 30mins to get to school.

I over slept!

I set multiple alarms and this is the one that wakes me up.

I hurry to the bathroom taking a really quick shower, then hopping out and making my natural curls take over. Picking out a outfit wasn't really hard I just wear what I would wear on a regular day, my favorite ripped jeans, a grey tank top and my grey converses. I put on a little makeup and taking up what needs to be taking up. I walk up to my door and turn around to say goodbye my bed. What? Am a bed head.

Making my way to the kitchen I smell eggs and pancakes, which is my favorite. I walk in the kitchen to see my sister, Anna's back turned to me. Me being who I am, sneaking up behind her attempting to frighten her and she being who she is with her super good hearing turns around with the most ugliest mask on her face frightening me instead. I scream at the hideous sight in front of me while jumping back to get has far as possible away from it. My heart was thumping so loud in my ears I didn't even realize Anna was laughing at me. I playfully glare at her and take a seat at the table where a beautiful plate of pancakes are waiting for me.

"Man, how do you always get me like that?" I complain with half of a pancake in my mouth.

"You just have to be smarter, baby sis" Anna chuckles while taking a sip of her coffee.

"Oh don't worry I'll get you one day" I promised her still shoving pancakes in my mouth.

"Keep telling yourself that" she rolls her eyes, "Happy birthday, you excited for today?"

"Thanks and why would I?" I asked, its not like I have anything special doing other than being the pack's loser.

"You know you turn the big number today, you might meet your mate today." She said excitedly and a little sadness in her eyes. Anna is 19 almost 20 years old and she still hasn't met here mate yet, but I don't know, I have a feeling she'll meet him soon. Sometimes I get these gut feelings and they are never wrong.

"Oh." that's all I said. I actually forgot about that and there is a little fear in me that he might reject me. I mean, who would want someone like me.

"Really that's all you have to say? Aren't you excited to finally meet the one that was made for you and actually fall in love" She said totally in her dream land right now.

"I guess am afraid he might reject me" I whisper the last part too ashamed.

"Oh, Elle, how could he ever reject you, your beautiful, smart and strong, he would be crazy to not want to be with you." She says being the big sister that I love.

"Thanks, Anna, but you have seen how the pack treats us, he wouldn't want a loser like me." I said with a frown.

"Oh shush and stop being a downer you'll never know what they'll say if you don't give them a chance, and you have exactly 10 minutes to get to school before your late ok? Love you" She said kissing my forehead.

"Yeah whatever, love u too. I wish mom and dad were here" I whispered the last part barely audible but I know she heard because she sent me a sympathy look.

I get up from the seat while gathering my stuff and stuffing my face with the rest of my eggs. Running over to my sister giving here a kiss on the cheek goodbye which I got groan from her because of my mouthful. I quickly rush out the door putting my earphones in and listening to my favorite songs while I walk to school.

Thankfully I got to school on time because I ran using my wolf speed. I didn't shift yet but I was still pretty fast, thanks to my training. Once I reached the school gate, my wolf, Eva, started to get really annoying with her howling and jumping which was giving me a headache.

"Could you stop it?" I said to my wolf clearly annoyed.

"I cant, I feel our mate Elle, I FEEL HIM!!" she practically yelled at me.

"I don't car-. Wait what?" I said surprised, I knew that there might be a chance I would meet my mate soon but not this FAST!.

"You heard me sista, we gonna meet our MATE, AM SO EXCITED. GO ON I WANT TO MEET HIM!" She ushered me.

"I-I don't think I want to go to school today, maybe I should turn back", I said nervously.

"Bitch, I would smack you silly if I weren't in your head right now, you better keep on walking if you knew what's best for you" Eva threatened.

She was always so bossy, the first few weeks after she surfaced on my sixteenth birthday we would always get in an argument. She always getting angry when my pack members would push me around and telling me to stand up for myself. I kept arguing that I don't want to be put in the bad books of the pack which I was already in. Then I reasoned with her and explained how bad of a trouble I would be in. She still didn't agree but kept quit about it, but we still became best friends. She does know how bad I want to smash their faces in though.

"Ugh fine, sometimes I don't know how I deal with you." I said continuing to walk towards the school doors.

"Oh whatever, you know you love me" She said making kissing noise.

I ignored her statement and continue walking, as I reach the door the bell went off, Great, I think to myself. I still had to get stuff from my locker so I was totally going be late for class. I am going to get in trouble because, Mr. Jones, my English teacher had strict rules about being late for class and to add to that he doesn't like me very much.

I quickly to run to my locker getting my two books I'm going to need for the classes I'm going to have before my free period. I quickly shut my locker and start running towards my class which result in me knocking someone over, I quickly took a stop to apologize and help them up only to be met with a scream so high you would think it was the banshee chick from Teen Wolf.

When I looked who it was I internally groan. What did I do to deserve this moon goddess?, I asked to the moon goddess above.

"You! look what you did you bitch!", she yelled glaring at me. She was covered in what look like hot chocolate. I moved to go help her, "Don't touch me!".

"Look I am so sorry. I was in a rush to get to class and I didn't see you. Emma I can help yo..", I said in a rush only to be hit with the most amazing scent once I took a step closer to her. It was faint but I could smell it, it smelt like cinnamon and lemon. Nice perfume, I thought to myself. Eva totally agreed because she started gushing over it too. She was about to say something but was cut off by Emma.

"Don't you dear come closer to me you freak! And I promise you will regret ever being born" she promised glaring at me. After sending me the deadliest glare she left.

AH!, too bad she doesn't know I already regret being born. But then my mind went back to that scent on her which I couldn't get out of my head. Its when my arms started to get tired with the huge books I am holding, I remember I was going to be late for class. I quickly made my way to class more careful this time. I opened the door to my class, running in with my heart beating fast, by both running and fear of what Mr. Jones was going to do.

"Miss Cooper, may I ask why you are late for my class" he asked in a not so polite tone.

"Uh.I.I kind of got in a little accident on my way to class s-sir" I stuttered nervously with having the entire class watch me with their hateful glares.

"Well I don't care, you have detention after school. Take a seat" he said with a eye roll.

I quickly took my seat at the back of the class, by the window. Class went on normally as usual. Popular barbie girls gossiping about goddess knows what this time, jocks checking girls out as usual. Non of them took notice in me though which I am kind of thankful for and people who are interested in the lesson are paying attention. Me, however, was still thinking about that scent on Emma earlier. I know, stupid but I just want to lick her- oh my god ew, what am I thinking. I shivered at that.

"Like ew girl you're going to make me get nightmares now!" Eva said with disgust.

"I'm sorry I don't where that came from" I apologized.

"Anyway, like I was saying before miss bimbo interrupted me, I think that scent was our mate's"

"WHAT! YOUR SAYING EMMA IS MY MATE!" I yelled making weird facial expression which got me a few stares. I squirmed under their stares.

"What?!, no you idiot. I'm saying she was in contact with him this morning that's why it was so faint." she said in Duh tone.

"Oh." I'm not really in the mood to meet my mate yet, what if he hates me?

The rest of the class was spent with me and Eva arguing about meeting our mate today, resulting in she calling me names and I in return, which was normal when one was being stubborn. Class ended and it's time for my next class, which was Physics. I groan internally, I HATE PHYSICS!!. Damn that felt good to let out in my head.

I made my way to class thankfully on time, don't want another detention. Class went pretty much the same, with me arguing with Eva. Yep, still! Sometimes she doesn't know when to quit it.

Thankfully it was my free period so I could do whatever I wanted for the next 40 minutes. Which would be on the roof to finish looking over my French notes for the quiz today.

On my way to the stairs, I smelt that scent again, which was coming from the janitors closet. I unconsciously walked up to the door with no control over my body. I was just standing there just staring at the door. What is wrong with me?

That's when I heard a growl and... a moan? Omg it doesn't take a genius to know what was going on in there. My vision started to blur, I wiped my face in confusion and I realized I was crying. What person wants to meet their mate having sex with someone else and in a closet for crying out loud!

Wiping my face clean of any tears ready to go to the roof only for the door to be opened revealing the most gorgeous set of chocolate brown eyes I've set eyes on.

At this point, Eva, is screaming and howling of joy for finding her mate and not only was he my mate but also the future alpha of our pack.

That's right Andrew fricking Walters is my mate.
