Chapter 1116: Chapter 1116

Alix knitted her brows. "Somebody said two nights ago that I’m free to express my feelings however I want."

"That was until you cheated last night. You cannot just whisper sweet nothings to me and expect me to think nothing of it," he frowned but continued to kiss along her jawline.

She kissed his lips. "Can you not let it slide just this once~?"

He snorted. "Nothing will make me waver."

"Not even if I offer sex in the bath?"

Jin paused at that. "What?"

"I mean it’s around our shower time already so I was wondering if we could share some cozy time there~" she innocently blinked.

He was already beginning to salivate imagining the sight of a naked Alix under the shower and pinned against the wall as he would make a mess of her. Then perhaps they would spend some quiet time nestled in each other’s arms in the bathtub - and perhaps have the last round of morning sex.

He shook his head vigorously, trying to wake himself to sanity.

"Hey! Don’t try to manipulate me," he then said righteously, "Your words are more important to me than anything...e-even shower sex."

"Think carefully. I might never allow shower sex in the future~"

"Okay at this point, you are just holding our shower sex hostage," his expression turned bitter.

"Like how you are holding my climax."

Jin had a serious decision to make. His heart was wavering. Yes, he wanted to know what she had said but not at the cost of his shower sex. No naughtiness in the shower forever?

That was a big sacrifice to make.

But Alix might say those words again. It wasn’t like she decided it was the first and the last time she would say it. And the next time, he would make it a point to keep his ears wide open and not let her fool him again.

"Well..." he cleared his throat. "I think it’s wrong of me to force you ."

"Yeah sure~ I knew you would understand," her eyes glistened with victory. Thɪs chapter is updated by nοvelfire.net

Just like I thought. Sex is a powerful weapon~

The last days of their trip were spent in Venice. After visiting the St. Mark’s Square, they decided their last sightseeing trip would be the gondola ride at night.

The gondola glided through the ink-dark water as ripples broke against the old stone walls. Lanterns flickered above narrow bridges, their hazy glow stretching across the canal’s surface.

"Venice at night is really breathtaking," Alix watched the submerged buildings with a quiet awe.

Jin leaned his elbow on his knee, watching the water ripple, then watching her. "I have a very different opinion of what looks breathtaking at night," he teased, his voice low and soft.

Her eyes squinted, amused. Dipping her hand in the water, she splashed some of it on his face.

He dipped his own hand and countered her splash with his. The silly water fight continued and eventually, they leaned back tired. He wrapped his arm around her waist and dropped a kiss on her temple.

"It’s peaceful," she said at last. "I ."

Jin smiled faintly. "Do you want to settle here? At least, we will be away from that chaotic quadruple," he snorted.

"You are as patient as Mom," he then pouted. "Tell me the truth. Don’t you feel the least bit bothered by their antics? Just a tiny bit? I promise I will keep it a secret."

She shot him a sideways glance, amused. "A little chaos doesn’t bother me. Besides, they will be quiet if you want but you should just know how to handle them~"

"Why does it sound like you actually like them?" He frowned with displeasure.

She only smiled back in silence.

The gondolier hummed some old tune beneath his breath, his words swaying in the air joined by the water’s ripples. Above them, a narrow stone bridge arched like a slumbering spine. Passing beneath it felt like crossing into another world. Jin reached across the small space between them and brushed her hand with his fingers.

"Do you know what they say here?" he asked. "When lovers pass under a bridge, it seals their promise."

She raised a brow. "Are you proposing something?"

The only thought that came to him was...

"Do you want to have a wedding?"

"I was thinking..." he mumbled to himself, "we are married but we didn’t have a wedding..."

How he wanted to see her in a bridal dress. But he wasn’t sure if Alix really wished for it too. She didn’t believe in marriages but here she was married to Jin anyway.

The silence in the small boat felt too deafening for Jin.

"It’s really okay if you don’t want to-"

"What kind of a wedding do you want to have?"

"You...agree to a wedding?"

To be honest, Alix had trouble imagining herself as a bride. That kind of a sparkling world was always very far away from her. She believed that that world meant for other normal people, not a messed up woman like her. She didn’t belong in the world of love and promises.

But then again, she hadn’t imagined herself as somebody’s wife either, yet there was a man right beside her holding her hand so firmly as if he wouldn’t ever allow her to run away. There was this man who was telling her that the world of love and promises was meant for her too. He gazed at her with such love that she knew she wouldn’t find it even if she scoured the ends of the earth.

Alix looked at him. His black irises felt all the more mesmerizing in the faint lantern glow and accompanied by the music of the ripples.

"If you’d be the groom, then yes."

His lips parted and shut and a wave of breathlessness came over him. Then came the wave of tears that left his eyes misty.

"You are crying?" Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Not really...!" He quickly wiped off the culprit tears. "Some dust went in."

"Somebody said to me once that that excuse is very cliche."

He then pulled her into his arms and hugged her hard, trying to hide his tears that refused to stop from sliding down his cheeks.

"You will be the most beautiful bride in the world!"
